Chapitre 57: Loss

(A/N: Before you read this chapter, know that this is when things began to change... Lumas' wishes come into play, some of you may hate this chapter but I honestly don't know what to tell you other then stick around for the next one of leave. I write purely to pass the time not to make enjoyment for all of you, while it's a plus if you enjoy what I write it isn't something I depend on... Hope you enjoy)

A small squadron of 200 people were resting on one of the various cliffs making up the Alf Mountain Range overlooking the small valley between the the Beraan Mountain Range and the Alf Mountain Range

"Yo, when are they supposed to show we've been out here a week already"

"Calm down, we are getting paid good money for this… we even get first dibs on the product"

"There better be some pretty ones-"

"What nonsense are you talking about, have you ever seen an ugly elf? What's our luck there's a wood elf among them" Nearly drooling as he spoke imaging the curves the wood elves are known for

"Next to none, we all know how rare a wood elf is nowadays even if we got lucky enough to try one out we wouldn't be able to keep her… you know how those nobles are"

"Yea yea…"

A horn sounded out and everyone jumped to their feet grabbing their weapons as they charged down the mountain, today was going to be one to remember… it's not every day you get to taste an elf…

=========================================

As the horn sounded out Sebas perked up a frown growing on his face as he looked towards Lumas seeing him clouded in flame-like mist, not waiting for Lumas to finish Sebas burst through the trees his figure elongating as he slowly transformed

By the time he left the cover of the trees Sebas' frame had grown to a towering 100 meters, his wingspan nearly double that. With every flap the trees bent and creaked from the wind pressure a grey blur landed on his back

"Nearly 200 coming down the opposite mountain range" Susan spoke as her wings folded onto themselves fading away into her back, Sebas opened his maw flames already churning deep inside his throat

"*Ding*" Susan's fist landed on top of Sebas' head "I know it's cool to breath fire but seriously?!"

The flame in his throat died down as he swooped down to the ground, he was slightly upset. First he's giving someone a ride on his back and now he isn't allowed to breathe flames… what's a dragon without his flames… a glorified lizard…

Due to Sebas' thoughts he slowed slightly giving Lumas the chance to strike first while the squadron was busy looking up into the sky "Fourth Form: Solar Eclipse"

The sky rapidly darkened as a subtle dampness filled the air, Lumas held his sword up high in the air as he yelled "Surrender or meet your end!" His voice seemed to echo through darkness sending chills down the spines of all who heard it. Those that looked towards the small outline of intense light were instantly bifurcated without realizing it, only feeling cold before they fell into darkness for eternity…

However a small group at the back of the squadron pulled something from a large box a few of them were carrying, Lumas couldn't make out what it was in the darkness but it had to be a last stand, just as he was about to dart forward he heard a soft groan before the sound of something hitting the ground sounded out behind him. Out of instinct he lashed out with his sword but by the time he noticed it was too late, the tip of his sword was buried inside of Susan's neck…

He felt like turning his blade onto himself at this moment, the smell of lilies filled his nose but the color drained from his face. Then another impact sounded out much louder than before, but Lumas couldn't be bother his focus was solely on trying to stop the bleeding. His mind was running a mile a second trying to find a solution as he pulled every healing potion from his Item Box dumping them on the wound, pouring them down her throat, but all seemed for nought… the wound wouldn't close no matter what, pulling a needle and string form his item box he attempted to stitch the wound close but his hands wouldn't stop shaking, his eyes were blurred with tears

He froze when her hand caressed his face, as if to say everything would be okay… but he refused to give up. She must survive… she has too…

Inside the net of trees Ais felt the sword at her waist violently shaking, Ais began to worry Lumas told her to stay back and protect the others with Riveria and Lefiya but fear began to cloud her mind, Ventus had never showed any signs of movement she didn't even think a sword was capable of movement, gripping the hilt she took her focus off the valley for a mere moment

"*!BOOM!*"

An explosion unlike anything anyone has ever seen engulfed the valley clearing the darkness showing a scene that would be etched into their minds forever, Lumas standing with a body in his arms violent flames wishing off of him, the right half of his body was dyed in green brackish flames, the left half in reddish orange… where they met was a dark grey chaos that was slowly growing encroaching the two flames but yet Lumas stood unmoving, next to him was a dragon collapsed on the ground and across from them was a pile of charred flesh

Standing behind that pile of flesh was a group of men standing around an Elf with rounded ears, around her neck was a dark grey collar with a large lock. Each of the men had a pole connected to this collar, one of them yanked on his pole causing the elf to scream out in pain a tangible wave of leaves rushed out towards Lumas

By the time Lumas noticed it had already engulfed him, but he felt no pain it was as if he had no care in the world as he stared at the body in his hands, his expression was dark but became even darker as the leaves began to eat away at Susan's body before he could rest her body in the small sheet of black it had been reduced to nothing… Lumas mind was filled with anger beyond anything he could imagine and with this anger came chaos…

As if he was weightless Lumas' body began to float a small gate opening behind him, inside was a terrifying aura and a light brighter than the stars in the night sky. A terrifying wave of white washed over the battlefield causing the ground to crack from the pressure the bodies littered about instantly exploded into a bloody mist as the pressure increased further cracking the ground, Lumas screamed out in an attempt to vent his anger causing the gate to widen… the valley had turn into a hole nearly 20 meters deep but the ground around the dragon seemed untouched, even from where Ais was standing she could physically see the pressure descending, it took a ethereal form as it surged from the gate she could see a small tree like being standing at the edge of the gate looking over the chaos occurring

As the small being raised its hand everything came to a stop, but that didn't stop the pressure as like glass reality shattered, Yggy spoke with reverence "Such strong soul power… I can't even contain it, how did his vessel not implode…"

Seeing Lumas in pain Ais couldn't bear it, without a care for her life she shot forward and was instantly slammed to the ground by the pressure, but she persevered painfully climbing to her feet she took a step forward "Lumas!" Another step "Please!" Another step "STOP!"

However Lumas couldn't hear her, the soul power gushing from his body numbed his whole being, he felt as if all his pain, anger, sadness… just faded away he was immersed in the feeling allowing his soul power to run rampant, the pressure superheated the ground turning the valley into a volcano

This… this was Lumas' true strength, the strength he was given due to his wishes… a soul comparable to the strongest gods, and with it the power to erase reality itself within this weak universe

The once white soul power began to darken as his mana began to bleed into it increasing the temperature, Ais could barely bear it her being felt as if it was being torn apart she uttered "Lumas, your- your hurting me" her words barely left her mouth but they struck Lumas like a fist as he slowly turned the pressure disappearing like it never existed. With tears streaming down his face he managed to let out a single word before collapsing "Sorry…"

It carried through the wind brushing past everyone's ears as they watched his bloody body fall into the pit of lava
