I walked past the distraught civilians who were watching the broadcast with fearful eyes. Some of them were mourning, others were in disbelief and shocked, and the rest were rejecting the reality of it all.
What's worse, I felt for all of them. Because what happened in New York City could possibly happen everywhere on the globe. And that's not even incorporating the military backlash that wanton destruction would receive.
Also, did I forget to mention that whoever did that was probably another Dungeon Master? The same being that had the same powers that I had? It won't be long before their emotions quickly turn to fear and rage at the thought of Dungeon Masters, friendly or hostile.
And that includes me. People often do stupid things when under emotional and mental stress. And it gets even worse when it's in a community.
The term "horde mentality" comes to mind.
