"Your grandfather sent his regards and warning that if you don't bring his precious granddaughter he would cut your inheritance and you can say goodbye to your dream of becoming the next CEO."
He chuckled as he pours his friend a glass of whiskey, "Thank you for doing this for me. Lucille will be with me for two weeks, so a weekend would be enough to make the old man happy."
"Was it really because you are busy that's why you wanted me to be the one to pick up the Little Miss?... not that I'm complaining. I miss that rascal!" he chuckled.
"Regarding that matter, Nicole will be coming."
"What changed?"
"She was thinking that I'm not prioritizing our daughter and she wanted to make sure that my current lifestyle was appropriate for a child."
"Tsk." he shook his head before he drank the whiskey and poured himself another. "When was the last time you touch alcohol?"
"About two weeks ago, if my memory serves me right."
"Hmm,"
"After you picked up Lucille, I would send you to Dubai for the acquisition of the new hotel there. Bring Stefan with you."
"Are you sure about taking your cousin under your wing?"
"He can't touch any of the old Tiefenbacher business because of what his father did. You have been complaining about the workload that I've been passing on you,- why not use Stefan." he accepted the documents from Antonio who just entered the room.
"Giving you Stefan as your mentee is like hitting two birds in one stone."
"Three birds," he muttered under his breath. Thinking that his boss is truly crazy over Miss Zimmerman to that point of sending his own cousin to the desert far away from her.
"You are saying something, Antonio?"
"No boss," he kept his face as neutral as possible, yet, deep inside he was sulking that Noah made him unfollow Miss Jess' Instagram.
"Antonio, does your boss still making you work like a horse?"
"No sir. Mr. Tiefenbancher is the most considerate and agreeable boss any employee could ever wish for."
Markus threw his head laughing. "Noah, you better find more people working with you if you continue acquiring asset outside of you family business." he gave Antonio a look of alliance from their workaholic boss.
"By the way Noah, do you trust your immature cousin to know the business transaction that would take place with your other businesses?"
"These meetings are more on just keeping the appearance and socializing, hence, it is a good idea to bring Stefan as he is good in those things. The important things, you handle it just usual - on your own."
"Duly noted." he put down his empty glass and stood up from the armchair. "I gotta go back to my place, I need to get ready to pick up the Little Miss."
"Thanks, Markus. I really appreciate it."
"No worry brother. This is the most handsome uncle's duty." He chuckled as they shook hands.
"Antonio, do we have a problem?"
He felt his secretary has been holding grudges behind his back. It irked him that he has no idea of what made Antonio pissed off at him.
"No, sir. We need to finish all these documents and I found out that Chairman Yamaguchi would be in Matsugen for dinner with his youngest daughter tonight."
He glanced at the stainless steel Rolex Daytona on his wrist, "Do we have enough time to catch Chairman Yamaguchi to talk business?"
"According to the information I got, Chairman Yamaguchi usually spent forty minutes for dinner."
"Okay, good job! Now prepare the other documents we need to finish so we could have more free time for the arrival of my daughter. Also, on Thursday we will fly to Berlin to bring my daughter for a two days playtime with her great-grandfather."
His stylus tapping like crazy on his iPad adjusting all the schedule that Noah has.
They worked in silence, perusing all the documents that have to be signed. Whilst Antonio was as busy as his boss, if not more. He has to cater to all of Noah's orders and at the same time, he was busy delegating other tasks to some of their project managers for he needed to lessen his boss workload for two weeks that Little Miss would be staying for her school summer vacation.
He was glad that there are no new men around Miss Jess nowadays, making Noah's temperament quite stable. And the fact that they are flying to Berlin and he would be seeing someone, surely making him excited.
"Time to ambush Chairmain Yamaguchi." He stood up from his office chair and picked up his coat.
He looked at his watch and two hours had passed since Markus left. He glanced up at his boss that was totally in a good mood. He smiled inwardly, he's also excited to have Little Miss in the apartment.
"Jin, are the men ready?" he asked his driver slash the head of his security as soon as he got in the back of his SUV.
"Yes, Boss. We are ready."
"How many people do we have?"
"We have six men every shift that would be on a rotation of eight hours duty round the clock. Soraya will be with Miss Lucille the whole time. She is with the entourage that picks up the Little Miss."
"Good. Thank you, Jin." He turned his attention to Antonio who has his eyes glued on his iPad monitoring the dinner between Chairman Yamaguchi and his youngest daughter.
"Sir, the Yamaguchi's just arrived at the Matsugen."
He glanced at his wristwatch, "We have enough time. And enough time for Chairman Yamaguchi to have his dinner before we ambush him for business."
"Sorry sir, it was impossible to get an appointment from the Chairman. We had no choice but to resort to this method."
"No need for apology. I know we have to do this or we will never get a chance to talk to the chairman. Although I'm confident with our proposal, the chairman has an eccentric nature of awarding a contract on the basis only he understands. Meeting him for an 'accidental meeting' is something we hope could work to our advantage.
