Mrs. Audrey Elisabeth, Nina's mother brought me into a tight hug "Oh my gosh Livia you did so well, I am so proud of you." She gave me a proud motherly smile.
Mrs. Audrey always treated me as if I was her own flesh and blood. After an incident that happened when I was thirteen years old, she was ready to go head-to-head with my father in a custody battle.
I declined her offer not wanting her to get involved in my family matters. She has cleaned countless bruises I never told her about, but I knew her motherly instincts had an idea of who was giving me the bruises. For a while I didn't want her to get involved because I was still trying to be understanding of my father's condition and I didn't want him getting into trouble. But after that incident when I was thirteen, I used him for training.
Nina squeezed in between us "Mom I also graduated. Sometimes I feel like you replaced me with Livia."
"Oh, sweety it took you long enough to come to that conclusion."
"What?"
Mrs. Autumn playfully pushed her out the way "Shush can you not interrupt me while I am congratulating my daughter."
"Mom."
There was a deep chuckle behind us "Excuse me ladies." A man with a soothing voice spoke.
I turned around and was met with a man about average height, hazel eyes, and toned, you could tell he was fit even through his tailored suit "Hello Hotty." Nina said boldly.
Mrs. Audrey pinched her side "Ouch mom what was that for?" She asked rubbing the tender spot.
"Don't embarrass me in front of the hot young man with your wild woman antics."
Zoe shook her head at the mother daughter duo "Yes, how may we help you?"
"I am Parker Fox, Mr. River's personal Assistance. I am here because my boss requests to briefly speak with you, Ms. Moon. That's if you aren't busy."
"No, she is not busy, take her." Alicia said pushing me towards him.
He chuckled "Very well then. Ms. Moon, can you follow me please?" he abruptly stopped in his tracks and trailed his way in front of Nina "Your name madam?"
"Nina Elisabeth. Number Sir Fox."
"(206) ###-####, see you around Miss beauty."
"You better Mr. Hotty."
He walked to me again "Shall we go on?"
"Lead the way." I turned around glaring at the girls and continued to follow behind Mr. Fox.
"Boss, here she is." Parker stepped aside presenting me as if I were someone special or worth meeting.
Apollo gave me a gentle smile reaching his hand out to me "Ah Ms. Livia Moon I heard a lot of things about you."
Now I understand what Nina meant by him having a face that would stop you in your tracks. I mean look at him, his tousled jet-black hair, which was thick and lustrous. His eyes were a mesmerizing deep forest green, flecks of pale green light performed ballets throughout which sloped downwards in a serious expression. His face was strong and defined, his features molded from granite.
I guess he must have gotten used to that sudden pause in a person's natural expression when they looked his way followed by overcompensating with a nonchalant gaze and a weak smile. Of course, the blush that accompanied it was a dead give-away. It didn't help that he was so modest with it, it made the girls fall for him even more. Despite all the opportunity that came his way he was a one-woman-man who prized genuineness and thoughtful conversation above lipstick and high-heels. He was handsome, okay that much is true, but inside he was beautiful.
I cleared my throat coming back to reality extending my hand out in return "All good things I hope."
"Of course, they were, and I must commend you on your speech your words resonated with me in ways you wouldn't probably understand."
I debated whether I should tell him that he was my inspiration, I mean I would just be speaking the truth and that's nothing to be ashamed of "I would hope so Mr. River after all you were my inspiration."
He looked at me in shock "Oh really?"
"Yes, ask anyone here and they will tell you how much I admire you. Not because of who you are, but what you are. You are a staple of transforming the impossible to possible."
Apollo looked at her impressed by her bold but well put words. Believe it or not, he is not a man that is easily impressed that's one of the many reasons why he is so sought out for. I guess it's human nature to want something you can't have.
"I am honored you think of me in such a way."
"The honor is all mines sir, now if you will excuse me, I do have other business to attend to."
"I thought your friend said you weren't busy." Mr. Fox teased.
I chuckled "Honestly, if it weren't for her literally pushing me, I wouldn't have followed you here. She was just being a good friend not wanting me miss the chance of meeting my admirer."
"Parker, I think I need to meet this good friend and thank her for allowing me the opportunity to speak to a very intelligent and well-spoken woman." Apollo complimented.
"Someday, who knows what path our destiny will reveal." I eyed Parker knowingly. Bidding my goodbyes, I went to find my girls and give them a piece of my mind.
Apollo watched as she walked away. He leaned over to assistant "What is she talking about? You know what, I don't want too know. Parker, I want you to set up an interview with Ms. Moon for the Chief Technology Officer position."
He looked at me surprised "I don't mean to question your judgment but are you sure that's a good move. I mean if she passes the interview and get one of the most sought out position fresh out of college wouldn't that cause controversy. Ms. Moon could become the center of attack from envious employees."
"I am sure she would be a perfect fit, there is no doubt about. There are few people who could look me in the eyes without being nervous or fearful and say what she said. When I looked into her eyes, I saw myself in a way. Besides, you should be happy I finally found a person who can take some of your load."
"But still…"
"You worry too much trust me I am making the right decision. And did you see the way she grasped the audience and had them hanging on her every word. You don't have to worry Parker; I can feel that Ms. Moon can handle herself…"
"Trust me."
