First problem in Dō no Mori! The dark jackal appears!
— I just fought back your attack, dog," the kyapen said to the creature, "Don't make me hurt you anymore!
The musketeers who were still standing went to meet Renāto, to attack Zasshu. Renāto, however, gestures to his companions with the back of his hand.
— Don't interfere. Wierd and Rioth need care. Help them immediately.
— But sir...
— GO! — shouts Renāto, imposingly, with luminescent blue eyes.
The musketeers were startled, as it didn't seem like they were talking to the same Renāto as always, but they quickly followed the order and headed towards the fallen musketeers.
— Hahaha... I see you still can't control that sword, legendary. Or the power in it.
After the outburst, Renāto seems to wake up from his trance. His eyes return to normal and he redirects his attention to Zasshu.
— I'm still taking care of it. Now that we've calmed down, let's talk.
— I'm not the one who invaded your land. I'm just protecting the side that took me in. When I see musketeers around here, it never means anything good.
— There's nothing to worry about, Zasshu. Let us pass, we're under orders from Gurenāru II. And he also knows, more than anyone, the importance of protecting this place.
— Gurenāru? And why didn't that young half-breed come along? He preferred the luxury of the capital to his roots!
— The Shirei-kan has more important duties. He carries responsibilities on both sides of this region, so he doesn't have time for personal meetings. Besides, he entrusted me with this mission because I'm the only person who can fulfill it.
— He must trust you a lot, coward. Even after everything that's happened, he still thinks you can solve something.
— I don't know what he thinks, I just know that I have to follow orders. Now, let us pass. Your problem is with Futomo, not with...
Renāto realizes he's made a mistake, but it's too late. Upon hearing Futomo's name, the leaves that formed a body for Zasshu's floating head begin to shake, and the head's eyes begin to glow a bright red. And then, with a heavy voice, he repeats the name incessantly.
— FUUU... TOO... MOO
Damn it... No, Zasshu! — says Renāto, trying to correct himself — I didn't mean Fut....
Before he can finish, a wind with red crumbs made up of forest leaves forms a red vortex, and hits Renāto in the chest, who is thrown backwards. He slams his sword into the ground to stabilize himself. The kyapen slowly gets back to his feet, facing the challenge in front of him.
— Zasshu, don't make me use my sword again. I don't want to hurt you. Remember that you have to be 100% for the tournament!
With no answers, Zasshu keeps repeating the mad scientist's name.
— FUU... TOO... MOOOO
Renāto prepares himself with his Hamburupi as the red hurricane heads towards him. But suddenly, a greenish arrow hits the hole in Zasshu's snout, which immediately stops the hurricane, and brings Zasshu back to normal, whatever his normal is.
— Huh? What happened?
— I'd like to know too — says Renāto, with his hand on his chest, still feeling the blow from the jackal.
Then, between the two of them, a young brown man appears, with a headdress on his head a bow in his hand, and green arrows in his other forearm. The young man is very familiar with both sides of Araukaria. Renāto, on seeing him, breathes a sigh of relief.
— Good of you to show up, Concheda. I accidentally said the F-word to Zasshu. So, the rest... you already know.
[Konda no tamashī(Concheda)
Kyapen of Chariku: Nebarizuo
Kai: Shakape]
— No more conflicts for today — says the young fighter — Zasshu, we're all Araukaria, and no mistake will undo that.
All right, little warrior — says the creature, still a little confused — I'll save my strength. But don't expect me to be nice in our tournament fight, musketeer. That blow will come back. See you soon...
Then the jackal's head is wrapped in the red leaves of the forest and carried away like a coordinated wind. Renāto keeps his sword behind his back.
— You know I could handle him, right?
— That's not the point. Zasshu is a precious ally for this region. Too bad he doesn't get along very well with the people outside Dō no Mori.
— Well, tell that to those two injured musketeers over there. I hope that one day he'll control the uncontrolled rage that's taking over his body! It could cause a tragedy in the future.
— Are you talking about him or you? — laughs Concheda.
Renāto realizes that he has just described himself. Then he absent-mindedly scratches his head.
— That's what I thought — added the indigenous man — Now call your Kai and follow me. I'll take you to Gabiru!
