Slay entered the room and got ready. Looks like his weapon was just gloves. I've never seen someone use gloves before as a weapon? What would he even do with those that would help his attacks?
He'd probably power them up, like how I do with my arrows.
"Slay get ready, the simulation starts in three, two, one!" Mr. Maple stated.
Now I understand why everyone was stunned by me. If I was moving as fast as Slay is right now, their untrained eyes wouldn't be able to keep up with my movements.
Many robots raced for Slay and he punched them all swiftly with his gloves. This man was very good at physical combat but lacked magical creativity. If he uses his body too much he'll eventually get tired and his punches will be weaker.
That's why it's helpful to have a weapon. It puts less physical stress on the body, which helps you fight longer at full power.
"His fighting style could use a bit of work, but so far he's holding up," I stated.
I could tell everyone agreed with me as they all nod their heads in unison, but we can't complain since he is kicking butt in this simulator right now.
As I was thinking Slay has made his way up on the ledge. He has been doing a lot of kicks and punches but he made a fatal mistake in his strategy.
Under him were about 4 robots, and more and more were coming in. He doesn't have a safe landing area.
He'll be swarmed with robots. So far, I don't think Slay has noticed since he's being attacked by another robot up on the ledge with him. Slay will have to destroy the bots before he makes his way down from there.
I watch Slay closely but he seems to be uncomfortable. Why is he just standing there? If Slay would use a strength spell to shut down at least half the robots, so he could get down without being swarmed.
He slowly hesitated but decided to jump down with all of the robots and attempted to take them all down by himself.
Is he crazy? If this was a real fight in the battlefield he'd be toast.
He can't be talking tough if he can't even use his brain properly to win a battle. Slay is trying to fight all of the bots one by one but is clearly getting beat up by the other bots around him.
Slay was out of breath and all the bots surrounded him. I see Mr. Maple press buttons and it seems that the evaluation has come to an end. Which is a good thing because if he didn't stop it then the bots would pummel Slay.
What was he thinking not using magic like that? Just brute force alone probably won't help you win most fights. Unless you are a master at that art of fighting it won't end well for you.
The door opened slowly with Slay walking in from the other side. His head was down and looked pissed. I would be too if I was him.
"Nice try Slay, you did an awesome job." Hazel said with a soft voice, trying not to aggravate him.
"You did great!" Hunter exclaimed. I nodded my head in response.
Slay turned around from us and just looked back at the training room. At least this kind of thing doesn't bring Slay down for good, that's a good trait to have.
"That was a good battle Slay, I will have to reduce some marks for your battle intelligence for doing that risky move at the end but everything else was pretty good." Mr Maple said.
It was a risky move but I doubt it was because he doesn't have good battle sense. I figured out that because he was trying to prove me wrong, he had to be on the same or a higher level as me.
I didn't use any magic spells besides my arrows but he doesn't see that as a magic spell, which it is an enhancement spell just on an arrow instead of the bots itself.
So Slay tried to do things without magic just like I seemed like I did, and he used only his physical combat skills, which aren't bad, I have to give it to him, he's skilled but in a real fight, you can't let pettiness get in the way of you winning.
People could get hurt afterall.
"Who would like to go next? Hazel or Hunter?" Mr Maple asked. "I'll give it a go, I guess." Hazel answered. "Might as well get it over with. You've got this Hazel!" I said with excitement trying to boost her confidence.
"Let me know the mode and you can get yourself ready." said Mr Maple.
"I'll just do storm mode if that's ok?" She exclaimed. Mr Maple nodded his head and continued to the software panel to get everything ready.
Hazel entered the chamber and she decided to transform into her fairy state. Yes, Hazel understands that it doesn't matter about being at our level she just needs to get in.
She looked very beautiful as a fairy, she had a silky orange colour dress, with lace all around. Her hair was put in a long side ponytail starting from the side of her head.
Normally her hair is straight but her flairy curled it. Currently she is flying near the top and is eagerly looking around the place. Good strategy Hazel, analyze the room for better movement.
I look over to Hunter and see his hands crossed and see that he's intrigued by Hazel, he's watching her movements closely and it's kind of making me uncomfortable.
"Alright Hazel, starting the simulation in three, two, one." Mr Maple stated.
Hazel floated down to the ground and so far only one robot has appeared. She kicks into action and starts to battle the single robot. She is dodging its attacks with super precision which is astonishing. She can't be touched.
From a normal person's point of view it looks like she is just dodging, but it's like she is predicting the robots movement. Just like the people of Autumn they weave around opponents like the wind.
Which isn't actually the case for Autumn, normally he is head first into battle, like all of my group but he's a bit more up front when it comes to fighting.
To be honest Hazel looked like she was having a fun time. I'm glad she's enjoying herself. I did too, I love battling as long as someone's life isn't on the line.
Hazel finishes her fight with bot with one last kick to the face, and soon after two more comes in. She decided to use her wings and get a height advantage and used some spells to disable them from moving.
She flew down and kicked them down to the ground as more robots came in. Hazel put them down with ease but I haven't seen her use a weapon. I wonder what her weapon of choice could be.
With a couple more bot fights for Hazel, Mr Maple ends her trial. She looked like she passed that evaluation with ease.
Hazel comes out from the room and I give her a high five. "That was great Hazel! You definitely passed that one." I reassured her.
"Thanks Dawn, I really hope so!" She answered.
"Awesome work Hazel." Hunter said, congratulating her. "Thanks to you, I think I can handle doing thunder-storm mode."
Wait, what did he just say? "Was that the reason you were watching her so extremely?" I wondered.
"Oh, you saw that? Ya, it must've looked very weird huh? I was watching her moves to see if I'd be able to do more than that and do a higher mode. Since I probably can't do Royal Mode thunder-storm mode is probably the best I can do." Hunter exclaimed.
"Ya it was, but I totally get it. It was pretty smart of you" I complimented. "Thanks Dawn, hope that didn't make you uncomfortable." Hunter smiled.
My heart begins to quicken and I look away and take in a quick breath. I feel relieved for some reason. I wonder why that is?
Hope you're enjoying the story!
