Outside I look at the guys," Hey you guys go on ahead. I need a moment alone." I need a moment to catch Eevee and look at the Pokédex. Maybe Arceus added the Nickname System like last time.
"Okay Jasper, I'll meet you at the edge of the Viridian Forest." Henry waves goodbye. His mask a mix of happy and sad emojis. Then he just runs off with a dust cloud forming behind him.
"Just give me an hour okay Henry! I need to grab my stuff from home. I forgot my bookbag." But I don't think he heard me because he was so far away. Well, I better hurry up then before he leaves me behind.
I hear a snicker right beside me. I turn around to see Charles standing right where Henry was. Hair in disarray from the wind and dust.
Charles huffs putting his hands in his front pockets. " See ya later Jasper. I'm goanna go on ahead to the first gym. Bet I'll beat the gym leaders before you do!" With that Charles was off. Slowly making his way behind Henry.
I don't even respond to him because I hate the guy. I'll show you Charles! I'll get all my badges, defeat Team Mafia mad become a Pokémon Master. Well maybe not a Pokémon Master but someone who is friends with all Pokémon!
I will show you one Charles! I'll be best friends with legendries and mythicals! Just like Arceus- wait can I even consider Arceus a friend. Since he destroyed the last world i was in. Might have killed me in my first life. Is forcing me to deaf an evil team I created for a fanfiction.
What kind of friend does that! No friend that's who would. Now I need to befriend Eevee. The little one being the only companion I had in the void. Now I look down to see a fluff ball smiling up at me. Causing me to melt inside. So, flipping CUTE!
I hold a Pokéball in one hand the other cradling Eevee," Okay little buddy I'm going to catch you in this Pokéball. It will keep you safe and heal you if you are injured. It will also allow you to travel with me across Kanto without it being illegal."
Yeah, so here are some things I forgot to mention earlier. In this new reality the Pokémon League is the equivalent to the government. They make rules we trainers and normal folks have to follow. One of those oh so special rules is about Pokémon having to have a Pokéball.
The reason being that it is illegal to not have a captured Pokémon without one. It has to do with the problem of if that Pokémon causes trouble, they will have no way of knowing who it belongs to without a Pokéball. A Pokéball acts sort of like an ID and tracker all in one. It also inserts a chip into the Pokémon that allows the police to scan it. To either fine or return to the trainer it belongs to.
It also acts like a sort of pacifier. The police can hit a certain frequency on a radio, and it would calm down or knock out an already caught Pokémon. And there is also the problem with all the money you will have to pay if you bring an uncaught Pokémon into any sort of area where people reside. And the paperwork. Oh, my Arceus the paperwork is a nightmare.
From what I can pull from my memories as younger Japer paperwork is awful. You have to fill out paperwork for everything to be a trainer. Paperwork for every move your Pokémon knows. If it is allowed out in public or has to stay in its ball. The food it is allowed to eat even has paperwork.
This feels like the hell I had to go through when I was 18 in my first life. From vague little hints I remember I worked as an intern. I had to file away a lot of paperwork. That's probably what inspired me with the rewrite. What better way to ruin an already great world with paperwork.
