I walk inside with Henry in front and Charles behind me. To see a lab cluttered with paper and workers running around to continue their experiments.

"Oh, you mean the one about Pokémon from the same line having different move sets based on the regions they live in?" A tall man in a lab coat says to a smaller woman in a lab coat.
Oak clears his throat, and the discussion ends. All the workers stop what they are doing to look at Oak. "Now everyone I need you to go to the pasture to plant more berry trees. Remember not to go to the stables holding the fire types. We just got a new shipment from headquarters and so they are very how to put this feral."
The workers work out of the back door of the lab to go take care of their tasks. We'll all accept a short balding man holding a tray of Pokéballs.
"Hey Oak, we just got in the substitute starters like you asked. Do you want it now or for the next group?" The man looks at Oak with hesitation in his eyes. Why is this guy nervous and what does he mean substitute Pokémon. I hope it's for the next group and not for us.
Oak waves his hand," Yes bring out the substitute starters. Yesterday's group already took the regular starters. Now we only have substitutes left." Then he sighs." If only the breeder crisis wasn't happening. I could give every best trio from each city the regular starter Pokémon. But alas those Johto people stole all the Pokémon from the breeders."
Oak shoos the other man out of the room," Hiro go get the substitute Pokémon. Now kids if you just hang out here for a moment, I need to make a very important phone call. Abracadabra watch them and make sure they don't touch anything." A large Alakazam pops out of a nearby bush. I think it was a bush.
Without another word Oak left the room to go make a phone call. Probably to his daughter in law telling her about what Gary did earlier. Or something about that breeder incident. This incident is not feeling right to me. What does Johto have to do with it?
I see Henry move in front of me dragging Charles with him." Jasper I'm so excited! Just one more step than we're off on our journey."
Charles huffs trying to pry Henry's arm off him." Yeah, whatever Hen. Jasper still needs to answer my question earlier. Did ya or did ya not tell the police it was me." I clearly heard a statement not a question. Well jokes on you Charles past Jasper did it not me. Would it be past me or current me I get so confused trying to remember where my memories start and where original Jasper's begins. No time for internal crisis on who I am right now. Charles is giving me the murder look.
Better answer before I get stabbed. "No Charles I did tell the police it was you." Great answer that will end in blood shed.
"Fine Jas if you say so. But if I find out you lied you know what will happen," Charles just grins a too wide smile. His sharp lower and upper canines gleaming in the light. Yep, better hope he never finds out. He might just rip my throat with his teeth instead of with a knife.
Henry's mask droops down a sad emoji con pop up." Ah come on Charles Jasper already said she didn't do it. Can you just drop it."
"Henry ugh don't give me that look. Okay Jasper, I won't hurt you even if I find out you lied. Happy now Henry!" Charles just pouts long purple hair obscuring his upper face.
"Yep really happy Charles. Now we just have to wait for Professor Oak." I smile at him shifting Eevee in my arms since it is getting kind of heavy. How much does a newborn Eevee even weigh?
The Alakazam sighs at us. Then goes back into the bush it came out of. I don't know why but I feel the mood this Alakazam is giving off. Then I heard a little grumble and feel something stretch in my arms.
Eevee opens its eyes then immediately closes them to open them back up. Confused brown eyes look at me. Eevee is about to make me die from cuteness overload. "Ah are you confused Eevee. We are in Professor Oak's lab. I'm about to get a new friend that you can play with."
