Chapitre 187: Crossing swords

"If it isn't the most self-absorbed prince in the human realm." Zephyr gritted his teeth when he saw the prince riding over to them. 

Marlena grabbed his arm before he could rush to Destrian. 

"We can't. No one knows we are here and Itrusians will not happily welcome either of us. We should just leave." She tried to reason with him. 

Alas, seeing Destrian had awoken something in Zephyr. He wasn't hearing a word she was saying. 

"Zephyr," she said in panic. Her hands were trembling the closer Destrian got. She was certain he had seen them and recognized her but she was not ready for the confrontation that was likely about to erupt. 

He peeled her hand off his arm gently. "Stay right here. I will deal with that demon and be right back." 

"But—"

"This will only take a minute." He snaked an arm around her waist and kissed her forehead, leaving Marlena more terrified. Great. As if Destrian didn't have enough reasons to be upset.
