well I was here because I watch manhua 'the nightwatcher' so I was curious what happend next that's why I completed this light novel so basically story line is good .
Engaging read. Well developed world. Likeable, but imperfect strong main character with interesting relationships
Overall the first 40 chapters were great and I was prepared to dig in and get invested but then I turn to chapter 41 and the quality (translation) immediately took a step of a cliff and plummeted before preceding to blow up into a flaming pile of $#$& aaaaaa I hate it it was so good is there anywhere that translates it properly I’m actualy thinking of paying.
Good story. Good comedy. The mc is good. My vocabulary is limited so I'm just saying what comes to my mind
it's a good book overall ...but why does the translation quality drop from chapter 40 onwards...it's really annoying...can't enjoy a good read anymore

still unfinished novel but so far the book is entertaining. First part of the novel is about the crime solving which is pretty good especially with the ancient chinese era background. It is like Sherlock Holmes but ancient chinese. The later part was focus more on helping the kingdom which I really don't appreciate. It makes the story less focus adding the plot about power system and leveling. I would have really appreciate the book if it was more focused than putting a lot of stuff and ending with a crazy hodgepot of idea. I still recommend it for reading.

In my opinion, this novel has the quality of a top tier novel such as Lord of Mysteries. One of the best novels so far from the trial reads along with Fantasy Simulator and Era of Gods, perhaps cursed ship too.

I am about 300 chapters in on the chinese qidian site using google translate and I am very excited to see this novel being picked up. It is the story of a modern chinese man who gets reincarnated into a fantasy feudal china, he knows he isn't the strongest person out there so he tries his best to use his wits and "tricks" to win fights. There is a big element of him trying to solve mysteries or cases constantly.

Well, I haven't read a novel with so much potential and "Lord Of Mysteries" potential in a while. I hope the novel could be pick and avoid the terrible destiny of other novels with good potential but overlooked by this voting pool (The World of Deities, cough, cough...). I think it's worth being choose, but sadly I'm not an Editor on Webnovel.
I haven't read the story yet, but the synopsis seems amazing.. I've also heard that it's one of the best novels in China, and actually one of those stories with an actual plot instead of the repeated cliche novels, with an OP young master who creates a harem of 100 girls who just fall for him for absolutely no reason, then let him play with them whenever however he wishes.. I'm rating here because I'm afraid this novel won't get picked up, in favor of one more commonly cliche novel..
The author is really notorious in China for being one of the seven authors that write NTR in their every novel. So read this comment and think whether or not you'd like to read it. my suggestion would be not to read it. Irrespective of its popularity in China.
got baited to read this because of all the good reviews complimenting the writing quality and mc intelligence. What i found when I read the story was an extremely perverted mc and author (like all female monsters are beauties for some reason and mc keeps making sexual comments about every female he meets even his sister).

So far in my honest opinion it looks more promising than Lord of the Mysteries, Thriller Paradise, Black Iron's Glory, Way of the Devil, The Records of the Human Emperor and Long Live The Emperor!
