Chapitre 6: Successful battle
Her sniping position was clearly average, therefore she would be exposed with on shot. But A1's calculation was on spot. She fired two consecutive shots without changing her position. The main reason she succeeded was because she was very fast that her targets did not have the time to return fire.
"V9, drive no matter what happened. I8, suppress the enemy's firepower. Suppress firepower at the left and right of the rear compartment. Z, provide cover. I will cover the back. The rest, protect yourself and the Chinese soldiers. Be ready to attack if the situation comes to worse." A1 issued the orders and the team dispersed for their roles.
They were facing gunfire since they had to go from the northwest side. They had to be careful of any artillery. The firepower was concentrated on west and they were going northwest. The chances of them running into any bazooka was extremely low, but it can never be ruled out in a battlefield.
One bazooka was enough to send the truck flying. So better safe than sorry. The team needed to make sure that there was no chance they could even fire anything.
The truck was driving in the smoke-filled battlefield where countless bodies were dispersed. V9 was trying his best to not step over the bodies as well as maintain the speed, but in an emergency situation he could not maintain suck maintenance. U6 who was in high alert contacted the Pakistan government forces using the satellite phone and obtained an exit location. V9 drove the truck until it was almost travelling as fast as a race car.
The truck was obviously rattling and bumping up and down. The nearby government forces were also notified that the Chinese soldiers will be coming their way so that they won't start shooting them accidentally. Saves more trouble. However, the truck's size was enough to get the bullet's attention.
The Pakistan government forces sent some soldiers to assist them as they know they were getting out.
"We got some friendly support, brothers. Makes lives much more easier. Suppress the enemy fire while they clear the surroundings." V9 exclaimed after seeing the situation.
"Don't you think our friendly support is a bit unreliable? I think it's better to rely on ourselves. Brothers, rely on ourselves." Z shouted, at the middle of suppressing the firepower. It was true though. The intel was mostly wrong. A simple mistake and they would have already lost their lives.
I8 was sitting on the co-pilot seat, Both him and V9 did not fasten their seat belts or did they shut the door completely. All experienced soldiers in the special forces know more than to take the normal security precaution in the battlefield. A vehicle will be the obvious target in the battlefield. Therefore, the first thing they will do when they met with heavy firepower was to jump. And wearing seat belts and closing the door completely will not allow them to do it. So the normal safety precaution will be the main cause of you death in the battlefield.
To be honest, it was more difficult to get out of the battlefield than to get in. Bu they had the help of a vehicle. As long as the truck did not burst into flames, tires don't get punctured or the diver doesn't get shot, they can survive if they suppress the enemy's firepower.
M7 saw a group of people in grey robes approaching from the left side of the truck, so he quickly used the grenade to kill them off. The truck went past the smoke and the fire in the midst of all the bellowing screams.
Since the car was also shaking uncontrollably, the Al-Qaeda members could not aim properly. They did not have proper training, so their aim was obviously bad. But on the other hand, Team Alpha went through hellish training and this was just a child's play for them. They shot down most of the men.
Soon, the car entered the government territory. And finally their surrounding became peaceful.
The team's body relaxed. A1 sat down beside M7 with a long sigh.
The car bounced again and U6's voice sounded, "V9, you can drive stably now. There are government soldiers behind us. They can block the rest of the bullets if there are one."
After saying this, U6 and the rest except for V9 and I8 took a small nap or rest. They didn't sleep for two days and it was already so tiring. Still the maintain their vigilance in the war. And thus was the only war the team did not have to think about the after battle clearance. It was being taken care by the Pakistani government.
Team Alpha took turns to drive each and around 1 am, it was A1 and M7's turn. She took the driver's seat and then drove out of the Margalla hills. M7 was also staying awake since he needed to be in the lookout. they may have driven out if the danger, but Pakistan was still a dangerous country. There may be robbers anywhere with guns. Hence, one needed to stay alert if their surroundings.
Soon, they reached the city and A1 drove towards the military airport.
When the car entered the military airport, the medical team came and helped them with their injuries. The Chinese soldiers who were the hostages, were also treated and they were sent first in a helicopter.
Then the Pakistan government gave the a new car so that they don't have to drive in one that had bullet holes in it.
M7 drove it to the underground basement of the hotel where they are staying.
The team members got off and stood in a line, waiting for their team Leader, A1 to dismiss them.
The members were obviously tired. There eyes were bloodshot but there gaze was still bright. If they were tasked to do another job now, they will still do it without hesitation.
There clothes which was clean when they went out were now filled with dust. And there already camouflaged face were dark as a coal due to all the dirt.
"Good job, brothers. Have a good rest. We don't have to report until next day. Plus I am making a new rule for Team Alpha. Get ready for it." A1 told everyone in a calm, authoritative voice. As soon as they heard her, they relaxed from their military postures.
"Xia Liena, when's the announcement?" Z aka Wei Wuxian asked with a curious expression.
"When we join the rest." A1 aka Xia Liena answered patiently. Soon, the group muttered their goodbyes and went to their own room.
Honestly, Xia Liena was happy to have them in her group. Her team was known as the Team Alpha. The best and elite special forces team that their country ever has. And she was a four star General. The youngest in the history and the team's leader. She had 74 people under her. Including the six who fought with her. But only 11 if them are very close to her. The one in her own team.
These 11 are Major general and the rest are Colonels or Senior Colonels. Young like her. Wei Wuxian (Z), Jiang Xiaoyu (I8), Jiang Wuque (I2), Wang hui (U6), Jin Liwei (M7), Song Yutian (G3), Tian Rong (V9), Yun Xiaofeng (S5), Mu Chen (C), Bai Lanxin (B4) and Gu Aining (N5).
All of them were her trusted companions.
