After failing to meet with Strife and Fury when they were four years old, Death had returned to Patch and wasn't in Vale thereafter during the White fang's stay. He had, however, left his contact information with Ghira, and as such they were able to better keep in touch. Cinder, on the other hand, had made a trip to Vale and met up with them all, and in the end she returned to Patch with Emerald, seeming thrilled about being reunited with her after so long.
When Cinder and Emerald came to Patch, Neo came to Patch with them to take Fury's advice, and offered to Death to do a service for him to repay him for giving her the ability to speak. Death knew just what to ask her for, and helped Neo to create her parasol weapon, which she called Hush, deeming it appropriate given that she was born mute.
The Parasol's outward appearance looked similar to what he'd seen her use in volume 2, but with his own talents he enhanced it into a possessed weapon, increasing its attributes, giving up Health Steal +30%, and Attack Speed +50%, as if she were not already a speedy fighter without being able to attack 50% faster.
Thankfully he had used his Darksiders 2 simulation mode in Create ID prior to her arrival and had the resources to do that. Completing Hush did properly give him the Magical Blacksmith skill, but apparently it still did not count as having magic for his 'Dark Mysticism' Skill Tree.
With Hush finished, Death told Neo what he wanted her to do, and she accepted his instructions before she headed back to Vale to rejoin Fury and the others.

POV Neapolitan
Four and a half years had passed from the time that the White Fang had arrived in Vale, Five and a half years since the horsemen had arrived on Remnant. It was summertime, and Neo, for once, was travelling alone as she approached a certain village.
She had not really wanted to separate from Fury, but Death had asked her to complete a task in this village. She was not sure how he had found out about it, but when they had last spoken on her scroll, he had told her to look here for that boy he wanted her to find four years ago.
Previously, they had no idea where to even start looking, so she had not been able to find him, but now he had told her that apparently the boy comes here with his family during the summers.
As she was entering the town, she used her semblance and no one noticed her, meanwhile she started looking for a family of blonds with one boy who had six sisters. Neo had no idea what made this boy so special, though Death insisted that the boy was important and that he should be properly trained and watched over.
Inwardly, she hoped that this guy wouldn't be too boring.
------
POV Fury
After Neo separated from the White Fang group, which was headed to Mistral now, Fury, Strife, and the rest of the group headed onward, eventually approaching one last village prior to making the final trek to Mistral.
Something, however, did not feel right about the place, as off in the distance where the village should be Fury spotted smoke. "Strife, look" she pointed out the smoke, and when others saw it, they looked worried.
"Father." Strife looked at Ghira "Fury and I will go ahead and check things out" he offered.
Ghira sighed, knowing it was the best option, but did not like it at all "Okay, just make sure you stay safe."
Fury gestured to Mercury and Strife to Vernal to take care of the others before the two took off towards the smoke that hovered over the village called the small village of Kuroyuri. If Strife and Fury hadn't been there then the White fang would have turned around and pulled an all-nighter heading to Mistral, rather then taking a chance investigating the situation, but the strength of those two gave them the added confidence they needed to let the duo check it out.
Fury loved fighting, and wasn't afraid of a few bandits or Grimm, so she rushed ahead towards the smoke, though Strife, who had ran ahead of her, was soon out of sight. Strife, she knew, was being stealthy and running ahead of her to check things out, since he was not only faster then her, but also quieter.
Compared to Strife's swiftness and sneakiness, Fury knew she was a rampaging bull in a glassware shop, but she got shit done! She could certainly appreciate having Strife's skillset along as her partner, though.
As she neared the town, she saw Nevermore's and it was clear that this was a Grimm attack rather then bandits, which meant that most of the town was probably already dead. On the off chance that there were survivors, though, Fury was prepared to dive in and slaughter every creature of Grimm she came upon.
Suddenly she noticed Strife running alongside her "Status?"
"Two survivors, the Grimm can't seem to sense them, must be some kind of semblance. Both are kids." Strife explained to Fury "Most of the Grimm wont be an issue, but there is a Nuckelavee. That might hinder us a tiny bit, so lets kill it first."
Fury grinned, enjoying Strife's suggestion. Normally they wouldn't even need to team up to take on a single Grimm, but from their research into this rare variety, she agreed that it was the proper path in this case, and it might still be fun even so!
The moment that they spotted the Nuckelavee, the siblings ignored the other Grimm and went straight at the big monster, Strife entering his Anarchy form and Fury entering her Havoc form simultaneously.

POV Ruby Rose
Death was outside his home on Patch, training with Ruby using dull wooden scythes, since she kept saying that she wanted to be like Big Brother Death and Uncle Qrow. Over the past four years, Death had occasionally received quests from his system, and had left to complete them with her Uncle Qrow.
Ruby didn't know about his system, of course, but she knew that Death sometimes left on jobs like a real huntsman and she thought that was so coooooool!
Whenever Death was around, though, Ruby wanted to spend every moment that she could with him, and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy spending time with her too, so he was basically her best friend and her favorite sibling.
Oh, she definitely loved Yang as well, and spent plenty of time with her sister as well, but Death seemed so powerful that Ruby couldn't help wanting to emulate him. Their father, Taiyang, seemed a bit unhappy with how close she was with Death, but their mother was very supportive.
Ruby had been training with him the past hour and a half when she was suddenly struck in the side by Death's wooden scythe, though he was careful not to strike her too hard.
"Your mind is wandering, Rubes." Death pointed out to her "You should have been able to dodge or block that."
"Sorry." Ruby apologized while blushing "Big brother Death is really good to me. I was thinking that."
"Aaaah." Death smiled at Ruby and nodded "Alright. I'll make a batch of cookies tonight"
"Yay, big brothers cookies are the best!" Ruby insisted cheerfully.
"Okay, we can take a break" Death chuckled
------
POV Death
Having recently returned from a job in Vacuo with Qrow, it was natural that Ruby would want to train with him, and he naturally did not mind. Ruby, at six years old, was very adorable, and already had a determination to grow stronger.
The job in Vacuo actually had them deal with a particularly nasty bandit tribe, during which they ran into a reptilian faunus old lady and had to kill her. This led to a Hidden Quest being completed to kill her. He gathered from the quest, that her name was Aly.
She did not appear to be part of that bandit tribe, so he deduced that she probably worked for Salem. Her hidden quest gave him the Yellow feather that he had been missing as well as an other world roulette spin, which actually gave him an ability this time, called Body Double, along with a Skill Tree by the save name, but it turned out that everything on that Skill Tree could be learned by practicing with the skill, so he decided to save his precious skill points.
As for why his cookies were the best, that was for a good reason. Though he had been saving up his shop points to aim for 1,000,000, that hadn't stopped him a while back from buying an ability called 'Sugar' for 5,000 shop points. Basically he could create an infinite amount of sugar, and the quality was higher then anything else on Remnant, so with a superior sugar it was natural that the things he made with it would be superior. Technically, that meant he was slightly cheating, but seeing Ruby so happy made it worth it.
Taiyang's cookies were good too, and would probably be even better then Death's if he used the same sugar, but he had enjoyed Ruby's love for his cookies too much to let his secret out of the bag.
The system seemed to have a bunch of similar abilities in the semblance section, with the most costly being 'Chocolate' at 50,000 shop points and 'Fruit' at 100,000 Shop Points, with 'Chocolate' able to create any variety of chocolate with the highest quality and 'fruit' being able to create any fruit with the highest quality, best flavor and most nutrition possible, but he hadn't bought them yet since he was saving up to get 1,000,000 Shop Points.
Even just creating the sugar and brown sugar for a couple batches of cookies, though, takes 856 aura points, so he imagined that the others might have a similar expenditure, since it is making something from nothing, but with his insane regeneration ability, he could hypothetically make use of these skills better then those without his regeneration skills could, though it was still difficult to mass-produce even the sugar. He could, sure, but why bother? He only bought the one skill for the ability to make Ruby smile.
Of course, Fruit could even create Devil fruits, but he had already checked with his system and found that with his current level of aura, even with his incredible regeneration, it would take him months to create one devil fruit, and he would have no access to his aura during that time. It would take much less time once he had far more aura to spend, but for now he wasn't willing to even consider making devil fruits.
"Yaaaang!" Death heard Ruby call out to their sister as soon as they entered the house "Big brother is going to make cookies!" she called out happily "Their going to be the bestest cookies ever!"
"Really?" Yang asked as she appeared at the top of the stairs. even though she was not as cookie-obsessed as the little cookie monster (Ruby) herself, Yang still loved Death's cookies, and was nearly as devoted to him as little Ruby was.
"Of course!" Death chuckled reassuringly before heading to the kitchen to begin gathering ingredients.
While Death was searching, he heard the girls sounding all excited, but Death quickly realized that Taiyang let them run out of a bunch of the things he needed to bake cookies! There was only one egg left, and they were out of butter, flour, and chocolate chips! They had plenty of vanilla, baking soda, and salt, at least, but how could he make Ruby and Yang smile without butter, flour or chocolate chips, and with only one egg?
'Ah, screw it!' he got into his shop and bought milk (5,000 Shop Points), Grains (15,000 Shop Points), Eggs (15,000 Shop Points), Chocolate (50,000) Shop Points), and Fruit (100,000 Shop Points).
He had been just shy of halfway to his goal of 1,000,000 Shop Points, but Oum damnit seeing Ruby and Yang smile would be worth it, even if it delayed his plans a bit!
He got out a mixing bowl and started preparing the cookies, and since he had 'Chocolate' now, he decided to make Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies by mixing liquid chocolate in with the dough in addition to white chocolate chips, for a change in pace.
Though he had to rely on his shop to get what he lacked. Milk, from reading the description, could also give him butter or yogurt, with the latter being the reason he bought Fruit, because he'd be able to make various flavors of frozen yogurt.
'Ice Cream!" he excitedly thought and then bought water as well, since that would be useful anyway, and it could be used to make himself some ice cream by using it in conjunction with milk, sugar and fruit, though he would need to experiment to find the right consistency to use each at!
Water was cheap compared to the others, costing only 1,000 Shop points, but it only came as liquid or ice, with nothing fancy to it. Making Ice Cream in that way would be a long term goal, though, since it involved mixing four abilities. Frozen Yogurt only needed two, so he'd start with that, knowing that even that might be hard at first.
He might have regrets later about spending so many Shop Points, but every time Ruby and Yang tasted his cookies and smiled he knew he'd have no regrets at all!
He thought about buying Meat and Vegetables as well, but they were both expensive, 200,000 and 100,000 Shop Points respectively. He could technically just barely afford it, but decided that was something he could work on after he had achieved his goal of earning 1,000,000 Shop Points.
Ruby should be happy about one more thing, now. With Death around, Strawberries were always 'in season' thanks to Fruit. With a nod he decided to make some chocolate-covered strawberries after the cookies were finished, He'd cover them with milk chocolate, Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate, and Ruby Chocolate to give the strawberries a variety of colors and make them look more appealing then with just one variety.
Ruby Chocolate did indeed exist in Remnant, as he had looked into it in the past on the CCT, though it was normally quite expensive and only rich families used it. Death had never heard of it in his old world, but it may have existed there and just been unknown to him.
With all his plans decided, Chef Death went to work in the kitchen of their house.

POV Nora Valkyrie
She was frightened again. When she went to this boy, she had felt a soothing energy that calmed her, and the Grimm stopped bothering her, including the huge one, but then those two monsters appeared, They were not much bigger then them, the size of slightly older children, but they were not human or faunus, nor were they Grimm, but something else.
The only saving grace to her was that the little creatures started fighting the Grimm, in particular the big one, like it was child's play.
After they killed the Nuckelavee, the two creatures transformed into more normal looking kids, a boy and a girl, and began the process of massacring every creature of Grimm in sight.
She found herself calming down again and looked at the boy that was still holding her, and she blushed a bit.
"The Grimm are dead, you two can come out." she suddenly heard a boy say, before looking towards the sound and spotting him peaking under the building where they were hiding.
Seeing the boy, he did not seem sinister at all, but that form of his from before was still rather frightening. Nevertheless, Nora did not resist when Ren, who was still holding her, started to head our to meet Strife and Fury.
"I'm sorry for your losses. By the time we arrived, you two were the only survivors." Strife said apologetically "Since that's the case, how about you two come with us? If you want, my sister and I can help you to grow stronger, or you can separate from us when we enter any town or Kingdom if you prefer."
"I...don't want this to happen to anyone else again." Ren declared to Strife, standing up straight "I want to be strong."

POV Jaune Arc
The summer had become a brutal one. The day that his family had entered Shion village, a cute girl with half pink and half brown hair had approached him out of nowhere, asking to train with him. Jaune was used to village girls trying to get closer to him, since his family was well off, and he was the only boy in the family, but even he had to admit that 'training' seemed like a new approach, so he agreed, deciding to give the cute girl a chance.
What he did not know was that she wasn't just some village girl! It was a trap! When he met with her for what he thought was a date, she awakened his aura and then put him to work. The 'warm-up' took a good hour and had him sweating a lot, and that was followed by her giving him a wooden sword and shield and teaching him stances and maneuvers.
The girl, Neo, did not use a sword and a shield herself, but had cryptically said that she had been preparing to train him for four years. Regardless of how hard her training was, the girl, Neo, knew what to say to motivate him. He wanted to be a huntsmen, and for that he needed to be strong!
Though his parents worried about him, each day he slipped out, and went through another day of intense training, which got harder and harder as time went on, until finally summer was about to end, and his family was going to return home. He did not know if he would see Neo again after they went home, but even if he did not, he planned to continue the training regiment she taught to him and to become a truly powerful huntsman!
------
POV Neopolitan
After spending the Summer training Jaune, Neo found she had developed a soft spot for the little weakling. He may have developed quite slowly this summer, but as the one who had awakened his aura, she knew how immense it was, and she believed his potential, if nourished, was quite immense.
This summer of training was technically enough to fulfill the request that she had accepted from Death, but now she wanted to train him for herself instead! When his family boarded a bullhead to return to their own home town, Neo had also boarded it in disguise and followed them back to their home, planning new training methods which were even more intense and brutal.
------
POV Jaune Arc
Oh the Bullhead, as he was sitting next to his sister Saffron, he suddenly felt a cold chill along his spine, and a sense of dread momentarily overwhelmed him, before disappearing again. He had no idea why that had happened, and soon put it out of his mind, completely unaware of what Neo had in mind for him.
