With Ulrike gone, Alanor knew he had to make the hard choice. He would probably come off as selfish but then he couldn't base his whole life and future on a man who had his destiny ready yeah? 

So much time had passed and just because he had seen Unar and been with him for three days didn't necessarily mean that everything would be okay between them. It was a truth that haunted Alanor even as he walked back to the palace. 

The night was calm and cold and yet for that very reason, Alanor felt like maybe he wasn't the warmth that Unar needed this time. 

Maybe he wasn't the perfect mate as everyone seemed to think. Maybe this time he had to make the choice everyone was just comfortable with, after all, it wasn't like the word was going to bend from the pressure, right?
