The vigilantes had once been powerful people with excellent careers in their world. People known to their world and people who could have changed their worlds, but then they had been cast aside by their enemies, for simply being too powerful.
Some were cast away because of jealousy, but they had lost more than you could. Their faces were in every archive of the human news, all they had to do was use the tech in the human realm to find themselves. But maybe then, they would still find people who loved them, right?
Besides, love didn't discriminate.
"Well, do we have to leave now?" Hakim asked. He felt like they were being shooed away, but wasn't it just that anyway? It was easier like this, because if Alanor woke up and felt like he didn't need them anymore, he would cut short their lives and that wouldn't have been fair play.
