"Ilya. I've been trying to contact her for a while now but I can't get through to her. I feel a pang of guilt but then I kinda feel like there's more. Makes me wonder if she is okay, she's my mate after all," Edison said softly to old Darius who turned to look at Edison with a raised brow.

Even though Edison and Ilya were never real mates, Edison had fallen in love with Ilya and he chose to be his. Ilya at that time, didn't care about anything really. All she wanted was to live a life that didn't have any pain.

Besides, she wanted to forget that her mother had already died. It had haunted her for a long time, so when the big bad lycan prince took interest in her, Ilya didn't go looking for a mate, she just waited for the prince who had promised to take her.

She was the only woman Edison ever loved with all of him, the only person he would always listen to, and now that he was away from home, he missed her so much.
