Alanor had been trying so hard to move on. He had tried everything to make himself as busy so he would forget about the beautiful black-eyed man he met in Acrod, but there was only so much he was able to do.

Everything reminded him of Grant, and if he was honest, he had walked the road to Acrod more times in the past few weeks, than he would ever admit out loud.

He yearned for the man on the other side of the Great Wall, and if fate would allow, Alanor would be willing to go back for him. But then no matter how willing he was, no matter how much he wanted to walk back there and embrace the mate he rejected, he couldn't.

He couldn't interfere with Grant's life anymore. They had barely known each other and while it was a smart decision to end their bond barely a day after knowing about it, the pain was still there.

And it was all because Alanor had decided to run from love.
