Chapitre 51: Meeting Test

It was a time around midnight, with the moon hanging bright in the night sky. Zeph was calmly meditating on the floor of his room beside his bed and in the adjoining room, Sauren was sleeping soundly after completing his meditation for the night.

Suddenly, Sauren opened his eyes and looked towards the window. He found a shadowy figure standing quietly on a distant building top. He was giving of particular hostile aura towards him which woke him up from his sleep. Warriors are quite sensitive to different energy auras around them.

Sauren hurriedly put his jacket on himself and took his gloves with him. He decided against waking Zeph up because it could be a very well false alarm or wrong intuition.

He looked to find that shadowy figure going in another direction, certainly luring him to that way. He jumped out of the window and was surprised to see Zeph crouching outside on the balcony, seemingly waiting for him.

"Let's move"

Zeph tossed out words and dashed in the direction of a mysterious figure.

They followed behind him towards the direction of the forest. The shadowy figure neither increased his speed not decreased it but maintained a steady distance with the pursuers. Zeph and Sauren were fully alert and didn't try to intercept him midway because he appeared at such a moment therefore he must be fully prepared.

Finally, he jumped into the thick foliage of trees and disappeared from view. Zeph and Sauren just stopped before the forest and looked towards each other.

"He is powerful?"

"Yes, but I was not able to fully grasp his strength. But if he is hostile we have to engage him can't risk the life of civilians.

Moreover, I have sent an emergency message to May, she will soon send warriors of corps to back us up.

We have to delay a little "

Said Zeph as he unsheathed his katana.

Both of them stepped into the forest and found themselves in weird dense energy. It was not powerful enough to trap them but also not weak as to provide no resistance. It was kind of making their movements tough.

Zeph was first to realize incoming attacks. He pushed Sauren out of way and received the whip-like strike. He was pushed back by the force of the strike. Then he saw what struck him, it was a vine but a lot more woody and thick.

Sauren stabilized his footing and looked towards the vine.

"Wood, then here you go "

He opened his hands towards the trees and channeled fire energy. A large fireball condensed on his hand, he released it towards the vine and it collided with a muffled bang sound.

The whole vine began to burn but to the shock of Sauren, it didn't burn to dust but instead flamed vine began its crazy attack over them.

Zeph and Sauren were repeatedly scuffling with vine attack when suddenly two more similar vines came from inside of foliage. Three vines shared flames and began thrashing out randomly at both warriors.

Sauren was dodging vines when a vine bent midway and strikes at a weird angle to him. He realized at the instant that he couldn't dodge it so he conjured a shield to take the attack head-on. Shield managed to with wood attack albeit barely but He was flung deep into the forest by the force of vine.

Zeph had no problem dodging vines but he was looking for the enemy manipulating vines that's why he didn't immediately increase his speed to catch off guard enemy and end him with one strike. After Sauren took hit, immediately three vines attacked him simultaneously. He also increased his speed to the limit.

He tried to find the source of energy manipulating vines but to his astonishment source of energy was in all four directions deep in the forest, which meant there were four enemies but he ruled out this notion because four persons to have the same elemental energy is not feasible. This meant the enemy was far stronger than them and thus obviously was toying with them.

"Ahhhh….this is pissing me off"

A deep shout was heard within the forest as Sauren raised his hands to channel his technique.

"If normal flames can't burn these, then I will change the flames.

Falling meteorites "

Large condensed blue balls of fire began forming midair.

"Ok, Enough Sauren, It 's us "

Came a calm voice from behind, shadowy figure emerged from the forest with Bushin in tow. The figure took off his mask and it was Elven Boss.

Zeph sighed as he sheathed his sword and went towards them. Sauren was shocked out of his wits to see both of them.

"What the Fu*k?

You were attacking us, what was it supposed to mean, a test?"

He said unhappily. He was annoyed by fact that he took a beating from the boss's vines.

"Well, if you want you could say this as meeting test " coughed Bushin while Elven pointed towards Bushin looking at the scowling Sauren.

"It was his idea"

Earlier that day,

Bushin gulped down the wine cup in one gulp and smashed the cup straight to pieces.

"What a boring life? I can't meet anyone here because I'm in hiding and have to drink with the same person for the last week "

He glared towards Elven sitting across him on the side of the table.

"Come on I think, we should show ourselves now to kids. How much time I have to wait for them to digest their failure in the commission."

"But Bushin, you gave him three months' and now are getting impatient to go back to your place."

"Three months…...that was a mistake and I am getting bored here that's why I am rushing you.

It's enough we will meet them tonight "

"But….."

"No, if or but... it's final"

Bushin took wine gourd and emptied its whole content into his mouth in one gulp. He burped in satisfaction and plopped down on the floor for a nap.

Elven shook his head and proceeded to clean the table. He was in his room sleeping when suddenly legendary Bushin, his ex-boss arrived in his room that night giving him a scare.

He told him straightforwardly to prepare the room for him as he was staying low key in the city.

Then, the next day he told him about his plans of taking Sauren as a disciple and his meeting with him.

He was even insisting on taking the kid back with him that very day but he stopped him with quite a bit of persuasion.

"It would be detrimental to Young warriors if they couldn't accept failure this we should give them time to work upon their determination."

Bushin agreed to his suggestion. Afterward, he had to accompany this legendary warrior all day in his drinking habit.

Elven looked at the drunk and sleeping Bushin and thought that it would be good for Sauren to get the teachings of such a legendary warrior but what about Zeph?. He lost in his worries left the room and went on his way to the mercenary office.
