Chapitre 18: Movements in the Shadows
(POV Danzo)
'Damn it! I thought nothing important would happen in the clan meeting so I didn't go, but that brat gave out S-Ranked Techniques to all the other clans! I'll have to accelerate my plan to leave Konoha now and take it over later.' Danzo thought as he angrily read the report from his ROOT operative who was disguised as one of the clan representative's bodyguards.
"Thank you for your service. Before you return to your deep cover, I want you to bring this letter to the Head Ninja of Kumogakure. Make sure none of the Hokage's forces find out, since it will ruin or plans for the future." He said as he handed a scroll to the bowing ROOT operative wearing a Rat mask. The ninja takes the document and silently bows before vanishing.
'I will need to act now. There was a brief mention of dissolving ROOT and reintegrating it into the Anbu during the next clan meeting, and with Tsunade's child as a clan head, they finally have enough votes to do it. Then it will be too late'

When I walked into my room after a long day of discussion, I was met with a clone of mine sitting in my bed, creating more bone kunai. This had become a pastime of mine while was bored, so I knew he was waiting for me to return. The strangest thing was that, if he had just popped himself, he could have updated me, so why didn't he do this.
"What's up. Why didn't you pop yourself to update me?"
"No particular reason. I just didn't want you to get this info while you were doing something important, so I used almost all of my Chakra and a senzu bean to teleport to George. Did you know he ate all the apples in the kitchen earlier. How did he even get inside?"
'Yeah, he has done that twice now, so don't worry about it. Anyway, you can pop and fill me in now"
"Roger!" My clone says as it poofs into a cloud of bonemeal.
I immediately realized the shocking news that my clone didn't want to just slap me with out of the middle of nowhere. There had been an attempt of Fuu's life by a drunk man from Takigakure. My clone had used this as an opportunity to save Fuu and introduce himself to her. We quickly became friends, and when I offered to take her to a new village with me, she agreed.
This was already shocking enough, but what truly floored me was that a few hours after she agreed, a group of ninja from Kumo and Iwa infiltrated Takigakure and paid off the Taki Anbu to let them take Fuu. One of my two clones was able to hold them off with exploding paper bombs, but my other clone took Fuu and left the village. He faked Fuu's death using [Body Fake] and placed multiple other [Body Fakes] around her in transformations with the [Shadow Mirror Body Method] using random civilian faces with Anbu gear from Kumo, Iwa, and Taki so they will think of each other was responsible. Now Fuu and my clone are at the Training Ground I marked in the Land of Water, so I need to get done with Danzo within a few days, or we will be discovered.
'Alright. If I can't figure something out by tomorrow, I will have to confront Minato as the Hokage and state that I have the Seven Tails and ask permission to bring her as well as protection for her from Danzo. That'll be a fun conversation' I think to myself, dreading this unexpected event.
I inform Tsunade that I will once again need her support in a day or so, and she looks at me with incredulity. She probably doesn't want any more trouble, but she still agrees nonetheless.

It is the day of Hinata's birthday party and I have bought a few gifts for her. The first is the most expensive piece of clothing my parents had. A snow-white Kimono with purple flowers that just-so-happen to match her hair color, a pink crystal flower Guren made, and sweets from the best shop in Konoha.
As Haku and I made our way to the Hyuga Clan compound, I noticed a strange tension in the air. I only noticed thanks to my sensory abilities, since all civilians continued to act normally. I could only think that this was because of Kumo's ninja being present and all the Konoha ninja being on alert.
When we arrived, we were guided inside to a large traditional Japanese banquet hall, where everyone was paying their respects to the heiress of the Hyuga Clan and where many civilian ninjas were brown-nosing to not cause problems for the established clan.
After a few hours, Hinata and I stepped outside, where I gave her the flower encased by Guren. Hinata was very shy and barely talked, but I know she enjoyed the flower more than the Kimono and the sweets since her hobby was flower pressing. Afterward, she would blush whenever she looked at me. My clone had kept a close eye on her yesterday and she was never bullied since she was with Karin's group the entire time. Sorry, Naruto. Looks like you never had a chance to be a hero.
As the time for the party came to an end, I was able to see the Kumo ninja sneak off when no one was looking, or at least, no one from the main event. He returned about two minutes later and said he had gone to the bathroom, but I know he was lying.
After everything was said and done, it was night time. I had stopped by Hiashi Hyuga before leaving because I wanted to have a brief conversation with him.
"Lord Hyuga. A word please."
"Ah yes. Lord Kaguya, how may I help you?"
"I was simply wishing to request that I come back later tonight. I had remembered that I had something for Lady Hitomi from my mother after looking through her effects once again."
"Hmm... I suppose that is fine. I will have my wife meet you later then. May I ask why this must be done tonight? I know you are new to this, but it is rather rude you know." He said with a small smile. Apparently, he was enjoying my attempts to play 'Lord Kaguya' at seven.
"I simply wish to deal with the matter as swiftly as possible. I have my studies at the academy to consider after all."
"Very well. I shall have her stay up for another hour or so. It is quite late and I don't want her to be too tired after all."
"I shall make it swift then, Lord Hyuga, have a good night," I say as I retreat back home.
I immediately run home while being eyed by multiple Anbu members. The Hokage must trust me enough to not have his top men watching me anymore since they aren't quite as good at hiding their presence so I can sense them with just a little effort.
As I arrive at home, I pretend to rummage through my things as I focus my Byakugan at the Hyuga Clan Compound. It is at the edge of my vision, so I can monitor the location and wait for the Kumo ninja to make their move. I tell Haku to get some rest since tomorrow would be a busy day and I am just delivering something to the Hyuga Compound.
I see him sneaking near the wall to the compound, as I take a hairpin my mother in this life once said she had gotten from her best friend. I immediately make my way back to the compound as fast as I can and arrive in roughly three minutes.
I can see several Hyuga Clan guards have been knocked unconscious in the compound. I make my way to Hinata's room quietly for my first fight with a Jonin. I can feel that the Anbu who were watching me seem to no longer be tailing me and are engaged with other ninjas in the distance. I wonder what is going on.
As I run down the hall, I see the Kumo nin as he reaches for Hinata. "What are you doing!" I yell.
I want to gain as much attention as possible while also startling the ninja. My plan works as he immediately jumps away from her and charges towards me with a Kunai in hand. Hinata also is startled and wakes up immediately. She quickly backs away to the edge of the room.
I dodge to the side and strike with my Gentle Fist towards his arm, but he manages to twist his body so that I just graze him. That was all I needed however since he has no experience with the Gentle Fist, he panics slightly and turns towards Hinata to take her Hostage.
"Oh no, you don't!" I place a senzu bean in my mouth and use swift release to appear in between Hinata and the Kumo nin.
"Damn Kid! Noone said a monster like you would be guarding her!" He pulls out a shuriken and throws it at me but I use my new technique, bone release [Under Armor], to create a layer of bone beneath my skin, so the shuriken just barely breaks the skin but doesn't hurt me more than a paper cut. He pulls out more shuriken and begins to add lightning chakra to them, but just as he gets ready to throw them, he is intercepted by Hitomi, who strikes him from behind, destroying his spine and leaving him paralyzed for life. Importantly, though, he was knocked unconscious and not killed.
"Not the way I was expecting to find you, Haruka-chan." She says playfully before her face turns serious. Hinata immediately runs out from behind me to her mother and hugs her. At this time Hiashi, Hizashi, and several other guards appear to apprehend the ninja.
I had accomplished my goal of saving Hinata without sacrificing Hizashi, but what I didn't expect to happen was for a scroll to fall out from his flak jacket when he was picked up. Since it rolled over to me, I picked it up and read it aloud.
"Boto, you don't know who I am, but I know of you and your mission. I know you are on a mission from your Raikage to acquire the Byakugan by capturing the Hyuga Clan heiress from my spies. I will support you in this endeavor by sending my personal agents to tie up the Leaf Anbu throughout the village.
If you agree to an alliance with me, I can provide your village with information on Konoha's defenses and potential weaknesses. When you are done, make your way to the south side of the village's gates and meet my agents there. Use this scroll as proof to accepting an alliance and my ninja will escort you to the border." I say. I can't believe Danzo would be so obvious. I know his political position is super weak and he is about to be overthrown, but this is too sloppy. Perhaps this is a false flag operation?
"May I see that Lord Kaguya?" Hisashi says impatiently. I hand him the scroll as he reads it to himself again.
"DANZO!!! I will kill you! You dare sell the heiress of the Hyuga Clan and betray the village!" Hiashi yells.
"Wait! Lord Hyuga! I have an idea!" I say as I see him about to run out the room.
"I thank you for your services, Lord Kaguya, if you weren't here, my daughter may have been kidnapped, but I must avenge my clan!" He says.
"That isn't it, Lord Hyuga. If you charge after him now, he will just put his 'ninja' in between you and him long enough to escape. I have a plan!"
Hiashi looks at me for a second before looking to his daughter briefly before returning his gaze to me. "Alright. I shall trust you, Lord Kaguya"
...
About an hour later Boto is seen running towards the south gate of Konoha, a child Hinata in arms He stops as he sees a squadron of four ROOT ninja appear ahead of him.
"Go no further!" They say.
"Hold your horses. This deal is beneficial to all of us." He says as he pulls out the scroll. One of the ROOT ninjas takes it and reads it back.
"Your late. Come this way. We don't have much time. Our leader wants to speak with you before we move"
Boto walks for another minute into a grove of trees near the southern wall. There a secret passageway appears as one of the ROOT ninjas touches a boulder and passes chakra through it. After walking down the corridor for another minute, Boto comes to a large room, big enough to house a stadium, where hundreds of ROOT members have assembled.
From the sea of black-cloaked men appears Danzo. He appears as a frail old man with an x-shaped scar on his chin. His right arm appears to be in a sort of cast, while he walks forwards with a cane.
"I have heard a lot about you, Boto. As the Head Ninja of Kumogakure, your position is second only to the Raikage. It is good you decided to head my call for alliance. With my help, your village will rise to prominence."
"That's all fine and dandy, but why are you helping me. Seems like you got a good thing going here?"
"It is all surface level. I used to rule Konoha from the Shadows. The Third Hokage would bend to my whims and never seek to punish my actions. He even followed me into the Third War, but now that the acursed Fourth Hokage has taken over, all of my work, all of my dedication, has been thrown aside! If Konoha is going to forsake me, then I will destroy it!" Danzo yelled as he became more erratic. He managed to calm himself after a moment and looked back at Boto.
"Regardless, let us leave here. We must make haste to the Land of Lightning if we are to outrun the Hokage's forces. They are already on high alert after my ROOT Operatives scermished with some Anbu forces who were passing by." Danzo said as he turned to guide Boto.
"Oh? I don't think you'll be going anywhere." Said a voice after emerging from the shadows. It was Minato, the Hokage, followed by Fugaku, Mito, and Jiraiya. They were all flanked by Anbu agents, a few Uchiha and Uzumaki Clansmen, and a very angry Elite Hyuga Main Household and Branch Family members. They had appeared and had already surrounded Danzo during his speech, which the ROOT operatives were all too enthralled in to notice.
Boto then placed down Hinata, who smirked before looking at Danzo. "Looks like your little game ends here. Who would have thought the legendary The Darkness of the Shinobi Danzo, would get so sloppy at the end of his life." Said Hinata. She then looked at Boto and they both undid their transformations, revealing Haruka Kaguya as Hinata and Hiashi Hyuga as Boto.
(POV Haruka)
As I looked at Danzo slowly losing his mind at being tricked, I though back to the plan I had made with Hiashi. We would awaken Fugaku, Minato, and Jiraiya. They would mark one of my bone kunai with Minato's [Flying Thunder God] Seal and would teleport his troops into position once Danzo revealed himself.
I would stand back and engage any who tried to flee from a distance, while the others dealt with ROOT. Mito just happened to be nearby when we went to meet with the Hokage and decided to errect a barrier to make sure no one escaped. Minato was already alert since the team he had monitoring me encountered ROOT Operatives in the area who attacked them on sight. They probably believed their cover had been blown since they just came back from delivering the message and helping the Kumo Head Ninja assault the Hyuga compound.
I asked for Fugaku, since he was a famous Kage-level ninja who would want revenge against Danzo for his openly hostile nature. He was even able to gather a few Uchiha Clansmen to help fight with him. Needless to say, I may have avoided the Coup d'etat of the Uchiha, since this would gain them major brownie points in the village and make them heroes to the civilians.
The only reason we were able to gather such a force so quickly and secretively was because the supermajority of ROOT Operatives were located within this massive room, which would soon become a battleground.
Minato stepped forward before speaking to the room. "Members of ROOT, here me! I am Minato Namikaze. Foruth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. We are here to apprehend Danzo Shimura and any who would side with him. I know you are all citizens of the Hidden Leaf. Many of you have families and loved ones who you wish to protect. I ask this of you. Remove your masks and turn yourselves in. Any who do so will be pardoned and later integrated into the Anbu. Those who resist will simply be killed."
I thought that this was unnecessary, as most ROOT Operatives were fiercly loyal to Danzo and would probably fight to the bitter end, but it turns out that that was not the case. In typical anime fashion, after a moment, one ROOT operative removed his mask and stepped towards Minato and fell to his knees. Then another, then another, until around a third of ROOT had surrendered. The rest stayed loal.
'Damn. I guess Naruto inherited 'Talk no Jutsu' from Minato then' I thought to myself. While I was admiring Minato's work, Danzo was fuming. He had had enough and he flaired his Chakra while the atmosphere became cold to everyone.
"You dare to betray me! I was the one who made you! Who took you in when you had nothing! None of you will make it out of here alive, even if I die, I will take all of you with me!" Danzo screamed as he began to shoot forth multiple [Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere's] onto the surrendered ROOT Agentsa, as loyalists began a clash with the Hokage's forces.
The battle was immense. At first, I had made for higher ground, running along the walls and firing off [Finger Drilling Bullets] and throwing Kunai at any ROOt Operative who got too close. With my Byakugan, I was able to hit their tenketsu points from a range, so I was able to severely disadvantage them before finishing them off with a Bone Kunai, thus making up for the difference in experience.
Minato had already scattered several of his Kunai around and was effortlessly taking down dozens of ROOT Ninja in seconds, while Jiraiya guarded Mito and Fugaku personally fought against Danzo.
It was revealed during the fight that Danzo already possessed a sharingan in his right eye, so Fugaku took it personally. He already complained about Kakashi having one, but he seems to have gotten over it for the most part.
Due to Minatos immense speed, the battle only lasteed about five minutes, and during that time, every ROOT Operative was killed including Sai, who I saw among the bodies. While I never really liked him as a character, it was a shame he had to go out like that.
Danzo was almost able to overcome Fugaku until Fugaku used one of his Mangekyou Sharingan powers, which allowed him to suppress the chakra in a person he was looking at. Without Chakra, Danzo was quickly loosing ground, so he decided to pull the ultimate loser move.
"DAMN IT! DAMN YOU UCHIHA! DAMN YOU HOKAGE!" He said as he pulled his shirt off and activated a seal on his body.
"Everyone Run!" Mito yelled as she recognized it. "He is going to use an Area of Effect sealing jutsu!"
Jiraiya summoned Gamabunta and had him hop upwards to create a large hole in the ceiling for everyone to escape, while Minato began teleporting everyone who was too injured to move away.
"[Reverse Four Symbols Sealing]!" Danzo screamed as his battered form began emitting black energy. He looked towards me as I watched on and he used Shunshin (Body Flicker) and appeared before me in an instant. 'This is Kage-level speed!' I thought as I activated my [Flying Thunder God] and appeared in my room just as the seal began to go off.
"SAFE!" I yelled, scaring the ever-loving snot out of Haku who had come by to check on me in the night.

I only completed this part because I wanted to give you all a double upload on Christmans.
