Chapitre 43: Foreshadowing
"I just heard that she was alive and well with a rex!", whimpered the raptor.
Baldur tilted his head slowly with his smirk growing, "Do you know where?"
The raptor was a shivering mess, his legs were broken and bleeding thanks to Baldur's ruthlessness. "I don't know entirely where! Please have mercy!"
Baldur shook his head, "That is not how this works. You don't tell me, you die."
The raptor flinched as he closed his eyes, "S-she is in a clan in a valley!"
Baldur smirked giving the raptor a rather pleased look, "Thank you for sharing."
The raptor blinked as he helplessly looked up and he screamed as a large foot stepped on the rest of his body. His muffled screams silenced once Baldur put more pressure down upon the raptor.
Sawtooth looked at the other herbivores who were scared for their lives. "What should we do with them?"
Baldur removed his foot from the lifeless body of the raptor, he turned and looked at him as he smirked. "What should we do with them?"
Sawtooth looked at the herbivores, they were tied up very well with their mouths tied shut. "I suppose we could leave them. You just wanted that raptor right?"
Baldur smirked nodding, "I at least know that Devastate is in a clan in a valley. I have a good idea where and now we need to make a plan."
Sawtooth looked at him with interest, "We could start by making a clan? That or we could take over one?"
Baldur looked ahead as he walked, Sawtooth followed him as they left the herbivores behind to be killed by the blind. They were tied and couldn't defend themselves, not that Baldur or Sawtooth cared.
It was a surprising thing, to not care about others and merely letting them die. This just goes to show that everyone was different and they believe in different ways.
Emotions and feelings were not a important thing for those so use to killing and lusting for power.
Power was more important to some than to others.
"I suppose we shall see.", grinned Baldur. "Either way the both of us will get what we want."
Sawtooth smirked at him, "That we will."
It would seem that Dreadtooth was not the only one running in this so called race. Baldur was also joining in. In this vastly changing world, there will only be one to rule it.
It now just depends on who will make it there first.
Back in the clan of Bloodmaw, the night was almost fully upon them. Dreadtooth had already came to get Fiala and went back to his clan.
Lesion was a little heartbroken when she left, while Jr just rolled his eyes at his brother.
Grim was laying down in the camp with his eyes closed, he had clearly worked hard and was now resting. Scarface was still out somewhere which gained quite a bit of interest from everyone else but Bloodmaw was more focused on where he was.
Bloodmaw looked confused as he looked at Grim, "Wasn't Scarface with you?"
Grim grumbled before opening his eyes, "He saw something and went to see what it was."
Bloodmaw looked at him seriously, "You didn't wait for him?"
Grim smirked, "He can take care of himself."
Bloodmaw looked down before sighing. He however noticed that Ruby was gone which further got his attention. "Where's Ruby?"
Bloodmaw looked back at Grim and frowned seeing that he closed his eyes again. Bloodmaw moved away as he began looking for them.
The valley had been safe, and they had little to no problems with the blind but no one can ever be to careful. Bloodmaw knew that all to well.
Though things seem fine, it doesn't mean that it was.
Bloodmaw blinked hearing a scream, and he watched as Helm and Dingo both went running in the direction of the scream in full speed. What on earth happened!?!
Scarface had went on his own when Grim left, he saw a blind herbivore and wanted to test his tracking skills along with his hunting. His injuries were better so now he had to get back in the full swing of things alone.
What he didn't expect was to see Ruby about to be attacked by a large blind rex. She clearly was out looking for herbs, and she didn't see the large rex coming. He reacted quite fast, and lunged at the much larger beast on its side. He delivered a bite to try and get its attention on him which it worked.
Ruby watched in shock and surprise when she saw Scarface come to her rescue. When she saw Scarface get grabbed by the face did she scream. "SCARFACE!?!"
Scarface managed to move his head away from the bite, though blood poured from the wound he had just received. It was a light wound so he was not fully concerned about it.
Ruby jumped as Helm and Dingo came barreling out of the bushes as they both gave Scarface a hand with the blind carnivore.
The blind rex was being skillfully dealt with by Dingo and Scarface, while Helm was the one to attack with a powerful blow with his horn. He turned his head sharply up and into the lower jaw of the rex, the sharpened horn over his original horn stabbed right through the beast and went right into its brain killing it quickly and effectively.
As the beast fell to the floor did Ruby rush over to Scarface to check on him.
When she moved so fast did it make Helm and Dingo blink in pure bewilderment.
"Are you okay!", she asked Scarface concerned, while hugging his face.
Scarface winced and looked at her, "I am fine! Don't suffocate me!"
Dingo laughed while Helm smirked. "Come on you two."
Dingo kept on laughing at Scarface and Ruby, Helm looked at Dingo trying to keep himself from laughing as well.
Scarface looked at Ruby with a slightly embarrassed face, Ruby on the other hand was softly touching his face. She was wiping off the blood so it wouldn't get into his eyes.
"Do you need to do that?", asked Scarface.
Ruby smiled affectionately at him, "Yes, I want to see your eyes."
Scarface snorted loudly as his face turned just as red as the blood falling from his light cut. "..!?!"
Ruby blinked and she giggled, "I will take care of you~"
Scarface looked away shyly at her words. "..."
Dingo walked into camp with Helm, the both of them were now chuckling.
Bloodmaw saw Scarface and Ruby and he sighed relieved. He was glad that they were okay, but he did blink however. Ruby was petting Scarface and this made his head tilt. Did something happen between the two?
Scarface laid down once he was in camp and he blinked seeing Gambit walk over. "You need me to look at that c-!?!"
Scarface looked at Ruby in pure shock for she had stomped on Gambit and knocked him out cold, she looked at Scarface with a tender sweet smile. "I will nurse you back to health!"
He of course had no say so, he also looked at Gambit feeling bad for his friend who was viciously stomped. Scarface had always thought that Ruby was a sweet character, but looks could be deceiving.
Ruby giggled as she softly began patching up his cut, while Gambit lay on the floor out cold.
Harmony was already asleep with Lockjaw at her side. Swiftscale was checking in on the youngsters before turning in himself, unaware to him though he was being watched by Ebony. Nina was asleep with Adder by her side who was staring off into space. His thoughts were clearly on something very important.
Belle was humming as she looked up at the approaching moon, she always had a fascination with the moon. It was probably cause she was born under a full moon.
Whatever the case, she loved looking at the moon when it was out.
Everyone was getting ready to turn in for the night, and she would turn in but not now. Belle blinked hearing approaching feet, it was not long before she saw a familiar behemoth settle down beside her.
Devastate gave her a small smile as he looked up at the moon. "Shouldn't you be getting ready for sleep?"
Belle giggled, "Yeah, but I want to look at the moon for a bit before I turn in."
Devastate looked at her lightly before slowly looking down. "I..."
Belle looked at him curiously, "Hm?"
Devastate flushed real fast before grumbling out, "Nothing!"
Belle some what giggled, "Okay!"
Devastate looked at her shyly as he looked back up at the moon silently. He was about to say something completely ridiculous, he stopped himself. Even so, those words desperately wanted to come out.
To simply say he likes her was something he never thought about saying. Should he say it though? Why was it that Belle could easily say how she feels while he struggles to say anything to her.
The behemoth grumbled some what before getting up and walking away, "Come over when you want to sleep..."
Belle watched him leave with curiosity and a bit of loneliness. She almost spoke up to him to not leave, but hearing him grumble sort of stopped her from saying anything.
She didn't know what she could say or do to make him understand that she likes his presence. She saw him as her protector, someone who needed her help to be happy.
How could she make him understand?
Belle slowly stood up as she walked over to him, it must of surprised him to see her coming over so soon. "You done already?"
Belle nodded as she looked up at him with a smile, "Besides, I don't want to make you wait!"
Devastate stared at her with kind eyes, "I don't mind to wait." He blinked though as she shook her head fast and said, "I wanna be with you!"
The behemoth blinked fast before looking from side to side in a flustered way. The way she says these words so easily made him jealous of her. "Okay."
Belle smiled at him as she walked over to him and as he lowered his head to her did she give him a hug. The behemoth blushed hard at this gesture, he looked away silently not saying a word.
Swiftscale looked at Scarface and Ruby in great surprise, he some what smiled. Did this mean that he could finally tell Ebony how he felt? Ruby seemed busy so the time was now!
The baryoynx ran to Ebony and he smiled at her, Ebony blinked surprised that he would rush over to her.
From the looks of it she was about to turn in, and he wondered if he should wait until tomorrow to tell her. Seeing it was fairly late and all, thinking that he blinked at Ebony's words.
"Wanna rest with me?"
Swiftscale looked at her with a smile, "You don't mind?"
Ebony shook her head with a teasing grin, "Nope, besides you came running over here and I just assumed you were afraid of the dark."
Swiftscale looked at her with a funny expression, "I'm not scared."
Ebony laughed in amusement as she laid down, Swiftscale slowly laid down beside her. He couldn't help but smile at her, and after sometime did the words come out. "I uh like you..."
Ebony stiffened up in her surprise but she smiled at him, "Really? I couldn't tell!"
Swiftscale nervously laughed but blinked as Ebony giggled, "I guess I can go out with a fish eater."
The baryoynx was overly flushed but he smiled, "You sure?"
Ebony nodded giving him a little wink before laying her head down and closing her eyes. "Rest well, Romeo." She teased him.
Swiftscale lowered his head down as he closed his eyes, he fully doubted that he could sleep after finally confessing and hearing her answer.
Bloodmaw blinked taking notice of Adder getting up, he blinked before approaching him. "Something on your mind?"
Adder looked at him slightly surprised before looking to the side. "I'm just worried about my father is all..."
Bloodmaw looked at him curiously before taking a step back, "You wanna talk about it?"
Adder looked at him and he shrugged, "May help get somethings off of my chest?"
Bloodmaw smirked nodding, "You can tell me what you want to share."
Adder gave Bloodmaw a kind smile as he nodded, "Okay."
As Adder began to speak did Ruby finish mending the cuts upon Scarface's face.
Scarface looked at Ruby who looked happy about his treated wound. She looked very pleased with herself as she cuddled up to Scarface who blushed lightly. "..!"
Gambit slowly got up grumbling loudly, he walked away holding his back. "Crazy female...", he scoffed under his breath.

Then there is the emotions in this chapter! ^^ Hopefully you all liked how wholesome it was! However Adder has something on his mind? Who was his father? The answer will be shared in the next chapter!
