Zander's POV

After I met the most striking women earlier, I couldn't get her golden eyes out of my head. I kept stealing glimpses at her throughout the night, and a bit of jealousy popped up while she danced with a few men.

She was exquisite with her long black wavy hair, slim but powerful shape, she was on the shorter side with me being a head taller than her, and her eyes that gleamed almost gold when she smiled.

Now I am pacing in my room thinking of her in an unusual way, a knife?

She just dragged it out of nowhere and rescued me, well I believe she did.

I had her escorted to an office with guards for the past few hours while we interrogated the servant. He didn't offer us much; he was paid off to put the poison in the glass and deliver it to me, but he doesn't know who it was, only that it was a man.

The man reached him via blocked phone call and put half the payment on his doorstep, never meeting the man, he was informed he will be paid the rest after it was completed.
