Chapitre 114: Ch.114 Mean Girl!
When they reach the cafeteria, each took a tray and line up to the food counter and serve themselves what they want.
"So, is the food any good around here?" ask Kris as he was lining up.
"Well, it depends on who's on cooking duty..." said Bobby
"Then, who's is it today?" asked Kris
"You're in luck 'cause its my turn today... It's Illy's cooking you should be careful of... But, its not the cooking, you should be looking at, if you know what I mean?!" said Bobby, while poking Kris with his elbow.
When they had their food of choice Kris sat with Bobby, who joined the table Sam was sitting on.
As they sat down Kris asked, "So, how does things usually go around here?"
"Well, usually we wake up at 7am do our own stuff until 7:30am which is breakfast after that we do our chores then at 9am sessions starts, either individual or groups it will be announced at the start of the day or the night after... but we have assigned chores." said Bobby
"If your on cooking duty you need to wake up early... its kinda like being in a farm sort of thing." Rahne who passed by added helpfully as she sat at the end of the table.
"Oh! I can live with that... So, what's with this sessions?"
he ask before biting into his toast.
"They're just a polite way of saying tests... finding the limits of your power, or finding its trigger that sort of thing, pretty basic. Though some test include the doctor taking some samples and all that! No biggy." said Bobby
"So, It's confirmed your all mutants?" he asks skepticly
All three of them just nods simultaneously.
"Huh?! So, their was no instance that they could have just made a mistake, or something?!" said Kris.
It was at this time that Illyana butt in,"What's wrong Punk Rock?! Having doubts about being a mutant like the rest of us?!"
"Who?! Me?! Not a chance?! I was just told, I was some sort of an Immortal?! Survived an explosion with nothing but the clothes on my back?! There's no bigger proof than that, other than having a big sign on top of your head that says MUTANT!" said Kris sarcastically...
"No?! Sir~rie?! Not at all..." he added to bring the point home.
It was at this time that Dr.Reyes walked in the cafeteria saying,"You can rest assured Kris, that if you are in this facility its 95% likely you are a mutant."
She then proceed to get her own food.
"Then 5% very likely means you could be an alien..." Kris muttered which only the people on the table heard.
For some reason everyone who heard that thought it was funny.
After their meal, everyone went to do their own thing. Kris help Bobby with Kitchen duty.
Until they were called in for their first group session, thankfully no tests this time.
When they were all in the room they were asked to form their chairs into a circle.
As they have seated, Dr.Reyes began,"The first step at mastering your abilities, is accepting it as a part of you..."
"And, to do that, first, you need to acknowledge when it first manifested, and what are the changes it brought to your life."
"From there we will begin to understand it, and ourselves in the process."
"Now, shall we start... share with the group when and how did you first activated your ability. Rahne would like to start?!" asked the doctor looking towards Rahne.
Rahne looked at everyone, and said, "I was thirteen. I remember running through the woods."
"How did that made you feel?" asked the doctor.
"Free. Like the most free I'd felt my whole life. But guilty too." said Rahne.
"Why guilty?" asked Kris
Rahne looked at him and said,"Because I knew it was bad. I went to Reverend Craig, to see if he could pray it out of me. He asked me to show him, so I changed. And showed him."
Dr. Reyes then asked," And what did Reverend Craig do?"
Rahne looked at her hands clenching at the arm rests," He beat me with his cane half to death, not before splashing me with a bucket of holy water. Said, I was a witch, that I was going to hell."
Kris just look at everyone in the room after that, thinking ,'There we have it folks main character material, I bet everyone in this room is. Guess this is part of this missions challenge, figure out which one are the main characters.'
Kris's train of thought was broken at Dr. Reyes's words,
"Would anyone else like to share their first time?"
Illyana took the liberty to be a d*ck at the clueless meek girl,"Hey! New girl. How fooked up are you?"
Dr. Reyes reprimanded Illyana by giving her an intense glare, which shut her up right away.
Bobby couldn't help but let his lower head take over seeing an opportunity to perve on the new girl,
"Drugs, I bet. Or a nympho, maybe. Hopefully."
Kris couldn't help but face palm at this poor attempt at getting himself a lay saying,"Dude, you need work on your pick up lines."
"I'm afraid if you keep that up you might end up a virgin your whole life or worse find yourself in jail."
Everyone started laughing at what Kris just said even Illyana with her "I hate the world attitude."
Dr. Reyes wasn't happy though, with them not taking this therapy session seriously,"Keep behaving exactly like you are right now, and we can all just spend the day in solitary."
"I want all of you to think very carefully about how you'd like to use your time here. And how long you want that time to be."
She decided to end the session and sent everyone off, but not before giving Illyana the task to show Kris and Dani around the facility.
Something she grudgingly agreed on.
She then stomped out of the room, when she realized that nobody is following her... she turned around and said,"What are you standing there for?! I don't have all day?! come on!"
Dani ran after her, while Kris just walk in a leisure pace after them.
When they were outside the building, Kris heard Illyana and Dani's conversation.
Illyana started asking,"You're an Indian, yes?!"
Kris saw Dani just nods at this statement. Then Illyana asks her,"Do you know how to plan weed?!"
"No!" answer the girl promptly.
"Then what kind of Indian are you?!" said Illyana
"Cheyenne, actually..." Dani answered
"Huh?! you actually think I care." said Illyana
But, Dani did not hear her at all. As she just stood there rooted on the spot looking at the open gate in front of her.
Kris who was watching their little by play, noticed Dani went silent, and called out to the stunned girl.
"You alright there Dani?!"
As if in a trance Dani muttered,"They left the gates open..."
Illyana suddenly realized something then said,"That's right they never leave it open like that..."
She then said in a sinister way,"If you could go any where out of here where would you go..."
"I would like to visit my father's grave..." Dani answered still in a weird trance her eyes not leaving the open gate.
Illyana then come near her and whispers,"Well, there is your chance. There is nothing to stop you now... Will you take it?"
Dani didn't answer, and just started running...
Kris wanted to stop her. But, he was also curious about something... So, he just let her go at.
He then stood next to Illyana, who just encouraged the girl to run faster.
Kris just kept his eyes on the running girl saying,"How far do you think she'll go?"
"Not, far for sure." said Illyana who suddenly vanished.
Kris, not wanting to miss what would happen next. Ran after Dani, Who he was about to catch up to even after quite the head start...
Marveling at the level of his physical abilities, he noticed that he wasn't the only one running to catch Dani, a wolf was along side him.
When he arrived at the end of the tree line, he was brought to a halt, as he saw Dani bounce off what seemed like a barrier in front of her.
That's when he heard Illyana's voice as she pops up behind Dani saying,"This isn't a hospital, Pocahontas. It's a cage. And now you're trapped in it forever. Man, I really should have warned you."
Hearing this Kris could just shake his head thinking,'What a massive D*ck! That woman is...'
