Chapitre 69: Ch.69 Be glad it wasn't the crocs!
As they drove the 12 seater Ford Transit along the road towards the police officer's apartment, Kris told everyone there cover story.
Wang Xia, and Kris were in the military, Zhu Wen was Wang Xia's Girlfriend, and the rest were relatives that came home to celebrate their grandma's 80th Birthday.
Wang Xia, and Zhu Wen were sort of uncomfortable with the arrangements but, in the end they just went with it.
"Oh! Did I forget, you can't go and tell the movie characters anything about the plot, or who you really are. You will be deducted 10 points for every word that might be counted as a spoiler."
"At the end of the mission if you have negative points you will be erased by God." said Kris
When they arrived at the venue, everyone was already there. Kris greeted Kimberly, and the police officer, and introduced everyone according to their cover story.
Kimberly, then introduced the ones that came with her, down at the station, She began with Thomas Burke, 'the police officer'. Nora Carpenter, 'the mother of the kid who got killed'. Kat Jennings, 'the woman who got impaled by a pipe'. Rory Peters, 'the pot head'. Eugene Dix,'The dude on the black motorcycle'. and lastly Clear Rivers,' the only survivor from the flight 180.
When everyone was seated, and fully acquainted. Kimberly started to explain why they were here. She went on stating her theory about the sequence of death, and how its the exact reverse of the actual accident.
She then told everyone that she died the last along with her friends. But she was skipped because the police officer Burke saved her.
Then before her was Evan Lewis, who died after being impaled by the fire escape ladder on his building. After an attempt to escape from an apartment fire.
Kimberly then told them how she sought help from the only surviving member of Flight 180, Clear Rivers.
Clear then tells everyone that noticing death's signs can mean the difference between life and death.
Kimberly then told them about how she realized that the next to die is Tim Carpenter, and pigeons will cause his death.
But they were too late, Tim had chased some pigeons, which causes a construction worker to drop a glass pane on Tim, crushing him.
Once this happened, Kimberly and Thomas made up there mind and called for a meeting with the rest of the survivors.
That's what brings them to this meeting right now.
Eugene Dix was the first to raise his doubts about all this story about death, and visions. And claims they were just freak accidents and coincidence.
But, Kris then asks Kimberly, "In your vision who's after the kid?"
Kimberly was hesitant to answer, and looked at Burke then back to Kris, "That's what I don't know because the whole bus was hit by this huge log, and exploded so it would be either of you."
The editor woman from the newbies, Huang Lilin said, "Well that's not very disturbing at all... What happens after the bus exploded?"
"That's when Mrs. Carpenter dies." said Kimberly in a meek voice.
While they were about to continue the discussion, Kris's phone rang.
When he saw it was the number of the burner cellphone he gave the dyed haired dude and panda girl, He answered it, on speaker mode.
Everyones attention turned towards him with curiosity and they heard a young man's voice. The man cried. "Save me. I don't want to die. Save me. Lu Chichuan died. I don't want to die yet. Ah..." His voice then was cut off by a deafening silence, that echoed in the other line.
But, then something broke that silence. There was some noise coming through the background. The sound of a sprinkler going off, and what sounded like an old man's ghastly laughter. So hideous, so terrifying, as if Death was laughing through the phone.
Mrs. Carpenter was so spooked by this, and decided to leave the meeting.
When she was about to leave the door, Kris asked two of the newbies to escort her down to her car.
While Kat Jennings mentioned, she'll go down with her since she needs a smoke, to come down her nerves but, she forgot her cigarettes in her car.
The plumber, and the lawyer almost jumped at the chance. All the while eyeing Kat Jennings. Embolden by the talisman in their pockets, thinking about the possible points they could get protecting the women. And accompanying such a beauty, that's within there strike zone wasn't half bad either.
When they left Eugene Dix went along with them, having enough of the ridiculous nonsense the others were spouting.
Rory Peters turned on the TV in an attempt to break the tense atmosphere, when he started browsing the channels it landed on a news report about an Asian woman that was hit by a car around the corner of a street a few minutes ago.
It was discovered that she had no form of identification, and the police couldn't find her photo in any database.
It was concluded that she was an illegal immigrant. Through the words of a witness, an Asian man was with her at the time.
A few minutes later, this Asian man was found beheaded. The cause of death seemed absurd.
Behind his body hung a barely visible fishing line. It was said that the fishing equipment of a second floor tenant from a near by apartment somehow fell off, and coincidentally the fishing line managed to hung across both sides of the street.
The Asian man was riding through this street with a stolen motorcycle. His head, and the phone he was using got sliced off as he sped through the fishing line.
The police, and medical examiners both felt that his death was too much of a coincidence.
This News report caught everyones attention, and they looked towards Kris.
"Hey, just because I'm chinese doesn't mean I'm related to every asian out there. That girl, ask to borrow a phone from me when we were in the bus. She must have kept my phone, when the commotion started."
"That was my spare, I was going to leave it at home so I could call even if I'm out on tour."
"Well, that answers the question of who's next in the list." said Rory who stood up from the sofa and went to the bath room.
Kris shook his head at those words, and walk towards Clear Rivers.
"I haven't had a chance to shake your hand, call me Kris. I had a buddy on that 180 flight, he was on his way to paris to propose to his girlfriend when he was caught in that accident." said Kris while extending his hand to shake hers.
Clear took his hand and said, "Well, I wouldn't be here, if it wasn't for a friend of mine as well."
Not long after the hand shake, Rory started shouting about seeing a shadow that looks like a man with hooks.
Everyone gathers around Rory, and looked at the shadow as well.
That's when they heard a scream from down stares.
"Well somebody must have been hooked..." muttered Kris.
