Chapitre 58: Ch.58 I see a monster...
"What's wrong? They're getting close?"asked O'Connell
Zheng smiled. "No, the danger is over. I don't know why but the sense of danger is gone. It seems like they aren't following us anymore. Huu~. We can finally breathe easy now."
Their temporary base entered their sight, and as they wait for the others to catch up to them, They saw Jie was carrying Zero as he sprinted towards them from the back of the group…
As they entered the building, everyone settled down.
Yinkong checked Zero for any injury but, couldn't find any. She said calmly, "He doesn't have any sign of physical injury, But I found this root like pattern on his chest, and its spreading..."
Kris checked him as well, and said "He has a rapid heart rate, pale skin and rapid, shallow breaths, If I were that type of doctor. I would say, he is suffering from blood loss but, he doesn't even have a wound on him."
"That only leaves one conclusion, he must have been hit by a spell... No! A curse should be more likely, all we can do for him now. Is to find a way to counter the curse, or finish this movie quickly, and bring him to God's dimension to get fixed up by God." Kris told the rest softly so the movie characters won't hear.
"What about Heng?" ask Zheng, pointing this question at Yinkong.
"The wound is not lethal but, he's been poisoned. Without knowing what type of snake, the beast was we can't cure him." said Yinkong
"The only way I know to help him is to slowdown his heart rate to not allow the poison to travel faster, I'll be needing lots of Ice. Which is hard to come by in this desert." added Kris
"We could also extract the venom, thru dialysis but, the machine hasn't been invented yet in this timeline... the last option is same with Zero."
"Do everything you can, I'll ask O'Connell to find what you'll need..." said Zheng
Yinkong looked at her shoulder that is now missing a large section of flesh. "I need hot water, needle, threads, scissor, alcohol and gauze. I recall Egypt has a traditional medicine for physical injuries. It would be best if you can get it."
"Just lots of ice, and a large tub, and some meat lean meat for Zero. He needs Iron to recover some blood, and a rubber hose, a syringe... oh!! don't forget to buy some coconuts, fresh ones would do best."
"Ok." then Zheng walked off seemingly want to scratch his head while muttering,"What the heck does he need coconuts for..."
Zheng approached O'Connell, and said, "We are not familiar with Cairo. Please help us buy the tools necessary for surgery. Jie, and Jonathan will, go with you. You need to remember to stock up on food and drinks too."
O'Connell brought the two of them out the tower. Evelyn planned to go with them but Zheng stopped her. When he mentioned Imhotep, she dismissed the idea.
[Scene Break]
With Team India... they were currently kneeling in front of the mummy.
When Shiva got back in the museum, He used his Dharmachakra (Buddhist symbolism) to heal Arot.
When Arot came to, he then healed Shiva. They were sitting crossed leg infront of the Dharmachakra, when Imhotep arrived.
"Oh great priest, please accept our assistance in your endeavors in return, we only ask for revenge against those who caused us harm."
Said Shiva while his summon also bowed, its tail holding unto the two americans that came with O'Connell.
Imhotep only looked at, the group of four, and said, "Whipped dogs could only look for a capable master, Very well you shall be my aid."
"Pick up your sorry selves, and follow me..."
[Scene Break]
O'Connell kicked open the door. Following behind him were the other two, but along with them was the man in black, and the museum curator. The three of them were each carrying a large bag.
Everyone in the room raised their guns in shock but after they saw that it was O'Connell, they let out a sigh of relief.
O'Connell said in a hurry, "F*ck. This world has gone mad! Several dead in the city, came back to life. And also some people who were killed suddenly came back to life shortly after. Cairo is filled with living dead, corpses are roaming the streets right now!"
After O'Connell's dramatic entrance... the players began to listen more about the situation. While others fixed up the injured members.
'This scene also happened in the movie. When Imhotep recovered the majority of his power, he would raise the dead into walking corpses. Even some living humans would get controlled by his power.'
'When the plot advanced to this point in the movie, the main characters were forced into a dead end while the curator got killed by the zombies.' thought Zheng as Kris, finished patching him up.
"And, some of the corpses had flesh peel off then the sand and soil formed armors and weapons for them. They look like... " said Jonathan
O'Connell continued his sentence, "Yes, those skeletons look just like the mummy guards you could summoned."
When they were running away earlier, Zheng summoned some mummy guards to confuse their pursuer, not knowing that it was a curse that locked on to Zero that chased after them.
The sense of danger only vanished since the curse already latched on to Zero.
"Three or four out of every ten corpse became like this. We almost got found out when we came back. They seem to be searching for something. I hope they haven't found our hideout..." O'Connell added
While everyone was patched up, Yinkong took a first-aid kit and a bottle of alcohol out the door.
Zheng saw it and could only sigh...
[Yinkong POV]
Yinkong climbed a few steps up the stairs of the clock tower then opened the first-aid kit and taking out a scalpel.
Then a voice was heard from the steps below, "You know I could probably do a better job, blind folded. Than you doing it by your self right now..."
Kris walked over, and took the scalpel to cut open Yinkong's shirt, and exposed the white skin underneath her neck. That, and the scary injury on her shoulder.
"The werewolf's teeth contain some kind of virus. The injured area around my shoulder has lost all sensation."
"In the legends, people that are bitten by werewolves will get infected and become werewolves themselves." said Yinkong.
"Well, what's so bad about becoming a werewolf?"
Yinkong could only stare at Kris, trying to see if he is joking, or serious...
Then he added, "People in the real world have a very loose meaning for monster, you know. But in here, some of us are forced to be monsters, to survive. While others give it there all just to buy the chance of becoming a monster, to survive this game."
"What I am saying is that, you have been given the chance to become powerful... serve in a silver platter, figuratively of course, since... you got bit, losing what seems to be your whole shoulder, and all... but yeah."
"Are you going to let a loose ideology hinder you, to survive this death game, or are you going to be your own monster, and become the stuff nightares are made of?"
Yinkong did not reply, but said " See this injury? The flesh that's become black is infected with the virus. Help me cut it out..." Yinkong was still calm as she said this. Taking the scalpel from Kris.
She lit an alcohol burner, and heated the scalpel over the flame. She then handed him back the scalpel without a word.
[Kris POV]
Kris looked at the scary injury. A large area of skin, and flesh had turned purplish black, it looked horrifying. The hand that was holding the scalpel began trembling.
Yinkong said in a soft voice. "... The last person that helped me do surgery... was my comrade. We were in the same team during training and in missions. But, he died under my own hands..."
"As an assassin, many people will gradually become insane due to the killings and the cruelty of the training."
"Just like that werewolf, Arot. When an assassin can't handle their ordeals, and they change... that's when they would be made to disappear. Arot should end the same..."
Kris could only sigh, but then he entered the unlocked mode, and started to cut out the infected flesh, his hand were so dexterous.
Every stroke, and slice were so accurate it only left pink flesh as the blade passes.
Unknown to both of them, his persona Prometheus was hovering above Kris's head.
A minute later, the floor was scattered with black flesh. Kris exited the unlocked mode...
"I can do the rest." said Yinkong
Kris looked at her for a while, and said" Fine, do it your way."
But as he left... a test tube, filled with infected flesh, was safely tucked in his chest pocket.
"Some people are born monsters. Some people become monsters, due to circumstance. But, what's scare me the most are... people that made them selves, into monsters... In the end... which will I become?!"
