Chapitre 62: Sky

(Jared's POV)

"We're ready to greet the world! We're voyaging forward with courage to run toward a brand-new start. Let's go live! Bridging the distance across the sea endlessly. Cheerfully meeting heart to heart! Waking from a dream, swept up into a stream. I make a wish and wait for my cue— How will we connect in this new frontier we're journeying through? Thriving in a scene where no one's ever been with vibrant colors bursting like stars— Radiant and warm; charged with energy that's carried us this far." I said, singing to a song from HoloLive English I recently fell in love with. "Each new debut brings a miracle to life. Surely. We've gotta take that chance. We're running nonstop; straight to the top. That's right! We're ready to change the game. A shimmering showcase. Creating a new place where we can shine! Day by day, sparkling stories will intertwine. Get ready to cross the waves. We're voyaging forward with courage to run toward a brand-new stage. Let's go live! Bridging the distance across the sea endlessly. Follow me and we'll turn the page! Breaking through the doubt, we know. We'll figure out a way to clear each towering trial; Sharing all our hopes, we can conquer any challenge with a smile! We'll link our hearts as we search across the globe. Knowing no matter where we are, no matter how far. We can be stars. Let's go!"

Attic…

"I wanna chase a wish unwaveringly, playing out a grand story. Share the futures that we can see. Making them reality! Take my hand and reach for the screen. All we need are glittering dreams. Our hearts and souls, all fulfilled in the world we build! We're ready to seize the day. Traversing the pathways, discovering highways to everywhere! Step by step, gathering stories that we can share! Get ready to lead the way. With each generation, a shining sensation; A dream unfurls— Let's make friends, making a moment of history joyfully! Follow me; we'll connect the world! They'll hear our song ringing out over hills and oceans. Our legend grows and continues! We'll carry on starting now; setting hearts in motion—Connecting all of the world!" I said, finishing the song I love, knowing that this adventure is going to be an interesting one.

"I've got to go soon. Saturday is band night at the Student Union." Luke said, on PC.

"What? You're going to watch a band? We are talking music here? Electric guitars, drums, not some physics experiment with elastic, right?" Clyde asked.

"Clyde, don't be soft. Soon Luke will have seen more cool new bands than you've ever heard of." Rani said, happily.

"Yeah, you'll be so after my tunes next time I'm home." Luke said, on PC.

"Oh Luke, I can't wait." Sarah said.

"Same. I wonder what songs you've got. Please tell me they're anime music." I said, happily.

"Look, I've got to go now, so I'll catch you later." Luke said, on PC.

"Love you." Sarah said, but Luke is already out of range of the webcam.

"Right, homework." Clyde said.

"Yeah." Rani said.

Front door…

"Luke will be back soon, clothes all over the place. Empty mugs, dirty places, lots of loud music." Rani said.

"You're tight. I should make the most of the peace and quiet. Night, night." Sarah said.

"Night, Sarah Jane, Jared."

"See you tomorrow." Clyde said.

Sarah Jane's home…

At 5.34 on Sunday, Sarah Jane is woken by an insistent ringing of her doorbell.

"Sarah." I said, while I opened the front door.

"Hello?" Sarah asked, looking at me. "Was anyone there?"

"Nope. She fell out of the sky." I said, as I am looking at a carry cot on Sarah's doorstep with it naturally containing a baby. "Take a look inside."

"What the?" Sarah asked, running to the road to see who left the baby, but there are no other people around besides her and I. "A baby?"

"Yeah." I said, carrying the infant indoors. "Sarah, should I call Mikoto and Shirai?"

"Why would you need to call them when we have Clyde and Rani?" Sarah asked, sadly. "Oh, why would anyone leave her on a stranger's doorstep?" The baby cries and all the light bulbs explode. "Oh! Electrical ability like Mikoto's.." She then looked at me. "Call them. We need them. I'll call Rani and Clyde. We need as much help as we can get with her."

(Open POV)

Judgment 177 Office Branch…

"Jared." Uiharu said, her phone near her ear. "You need what? Misaka's finger puppets?"

"I have to give away more of my finger puppets." Mikoto said, sadly. "Is it another kid?"

"I don't know. He didn't say."

"Well, that's helpful." Shirai said, sadly. "Where is he anyway?"

"13 Bannerman Road." Uiharu said, looking at her laptop.

"He's with Sarah Jane?" Saten asked. "What's going on there?"

"Something that requires Misaka's finger puppets." Shirai said.

"Not again…" Mikoto said, sadly. "Do I have to give up another one? Let's go, Kuroko."

Mikoto teleported away with Shirai, leaving Saten and Uiharu behind.

Attic…

Shirai teleported in with Mikoto.

"Sarah Jane, Jared, what's…" Rani said.

"Shush." Sarah said, carrying the baby.

"That baby doing in Sarah Jane's arms?"

"Shush. Don't make her cry. She cried earlier, and every light in the house blew."

"More like the entirety of 13 Bannerman Road." Jared said, sadly.

"Sarah Jane, I got what you said in your message, but what do you want nappies for?" Clyde asked, seeing the baby. "I sort of feel that should explain everything, but actually I'm even more confused."

"We found her on the doorstep. I was going to call the police, but I don't think they'll have much luck finding her parents. Not on this planet." Sarah said, while the baby cries, bulbs go bang. "Shush, it's all right. it's all right. Luke was born a thirteen year old boy. A teenager I can handle. But a baby? An alien baby? We need help."

"Don't look at me." Rani said.

"Or me, obviously." Clyde said.

"Your mom must know about how to take care of a baby. Any of yours would." Jared said, looking between Rani, Clyde, Shirai, and Mikoto. "Come on, Rani. Gita must know."

"If I start asking Mum questions about how to look after a baby, well, she's going to totally freak. Besides, she's an alien. What do any of us know?" Rani asked.

"What about Mister Smith?" Shirai asked. "Won't he come out?"

"Ah. Mister Smith won't come out. Well, would you if you might get your circuits fried by someone that can't control their electrical powers like Mikoto can?" Sarah asked, looking at Shirai.

"That is true. A baby with electrical powers. She isn't an Esper." Mikoto said, frowning. "Like with Shirai and me."

"You're right, Mikoto. You see, with most babies, all you have to worry about is poo and puke." Rani said, sadly.

"Yeah, well, this one doesn't blow bubbles, she blows things up." Sarah said, with the baby crying and an explosion happens nearby.

"I only know one way to shut up a baby." Clyde said.

Lounge…

"Right, I forgot using the finger puppets would be useless here." Jared said, while Clyde gets to feed the baby her bottle of formula milk. "Sorry, Mikoto, Shirai."

"It's okay. Maybe next time." Shirai said, smiling.

"Wow, Clyde." Mikoto said, looking over at Clyde and the baby.

"See? Happy tummy, happy baby, whatever planet you're from. I've looked after my little cousin a few times, not that she's an alien." Clyde said.

"You're a natural, Clyde." Rani said.

"Well, little kids are cute, aren't you, Sparky?"

"Sparky? Why not Zapper?" Jared asked, happily.

"Rather she will be called that than me." Mikoto said, happily.

"Oh, do you not like that nickname by the ape?" Shirai asked. "Despite this baby here being cute."

"No." Mikoto said, fixated on baby Sky. "But this baby is cute."

"Do you think so? I always think babies look a bit rubbery." Sarah said, looking at Mikoto.

"Her mum and dad will be going out of their minds with worry. They must be scouring the galaxy." Rani said.

"Maybe. Maybe not. Whoever left her on my doorstep, that was no accident. I think someone needs me and Jared to protect this baby."

"Protect her from who?" Clyde asked.

"That's what we have to find out, before they come looking for her. Jared, do you know who's after her?" Sarah asked, looking at Jared.

"I do. If we need Saten and Uiharu, we can always call them." Jared said, looking down at the ground.

"That is true." Shirai said. "I can teleport to the office and get them."

"Extra babysitters wouldn't be too bad." Mikoto said.

"It wouldn't."

(Jared's POV)

Outside Sarah Jane's home…

"I've scanned her. Now, give the readings to Mister Smith and hopefully he can give us a clue who she is and where she came from." Sarah said.

"Received and understood. If Sparky blows her top again, we don't want her anywhere near Mister Smith." Clyde said.

"Right. Time to get clear of Bannerman Road. Park should be safe enough." Sarah said.

"Yep." Rani said, while Gita walks up the drive. "Oh, no."

"Crap." I said, handing the carry cot to Mikoto.

"Babysitters." Mikoto said, looking down at the baby. "Why are we taking care of her?"

"Because we don't know where this baby came from." Shirai said, sadly.

"What do we know about the baby?" Mikoto asked.

"Not much. I know Jared has the answers."

"I do. I can't reveal them." I said, letting out a sigh. "I wish I could. But I can't."

"How was 'A Scandal in Belgravia'?" Shirai asked. "Besides us saving Irene Adler."

"I don't know why you wanted our help to save her." Mikoto said. "You and Sherlock could have easily done it."

"We could have." I said, rolling my eyes. "But at the same time, there were a lot of swords."

"That is true." Shirai said. "You two could have died. While Irene Adler became a liability."

"Now I see why you asked me to do multiple Railguns at once." Mikoto said, her eyes widening.

"It was to catch them off guard!" I said, excitedly.

"And to cause a destructive distraction."

"She's right. Lots of people could have gotten hurt." Shirai said. "I told you not to ask sissy to do that, but you had to let her do it anyway."

"I'm sorry." I said, sadly.

"It's okay. Just don't do it again."

"Oh, that's beautiful. Just like you." Gita said, and baby Sky squeals to cause all the car alarms in the street go off. "Oh, flipping heck. First all the light bulbs, and now the car alarms. I'll catch up with you later."

Gita leaves.

"An alien baby turns up on your doorstep and a meteor crashes on the same night? That's like a galactic coincidence." Clyde said.

"We should check it out." Rani said.

"Absolutely. Clyde, give me my watch back. Mister Smith can analyse the scan later. We need to check out what's landed in the wreckers yard." Sarah said, handing the carry cot to Clyde.

"What? What are you doing?" Clyde asked.

"There's no baby seat. And the last thing I need is her blowing the car's electrics. Mikoto, I need you to help regulate her electrical powers. And both of you, make sure Mister Smith stays out of harm's way."

"You'll be fine. You're a natural." Rani said, looking at Clyde.

"You too, Mikoto." I said, smiling. "I've seen you with Kana, Febrie, and the girls from Cypress Park."

"That is true." Mikoto said, looking at me.

"Look after her, Clyde, Mikoto. I'm sure someone left her here because she's in danger. Jared and I are relying on you two." Sarah said, looking between Clyde and Mikoto.

"Yeah, yeah. Don't worry." Clyde said, entering the house with Mikoto and baby Sky.

I looked at Shirai and I grabbed a hold of her hand for us to teleport to Wrecker's yard first.

Wrecker's yard…

"Professor Rivers." I said, appearing at Wrecker's yard with Shirai. "This is Shirai Kuroko. She's a Judgment officer from Academy City."

"Hello." Celeste said, looking at Shirai. "It's nice to meet you, Shirai."

"It's nice to meet you too." Shirai said, her hand on her hip.

"Sarah Jane's coming with Rani. Just give them a few." I said, happily.

Wrecker's yard…

"So you think Sky's in danger?" Rani asked, exiting the car with Sarah.

"Why else would anyone leave her on my doorstep? What's got me confused is, who put her there?" Sarah asked.

"The Doctor?"

"Oh, he'd never just leave her and take off without a word."

"I'm sorry, you can't come through here. It's dangerous." A policeman said, stopping Sarah.

"It's all right. Miss Smith is quite used to danger like Mister Shay who arrived with Miss Kuroko." Celeste said, looking at the police officer.

"Professor Rivers!" Sarah said, excitedly.

"Sarah Jane. Good to see you again. Come through, come through."

"Thank you."

In amongst the rubble.

"So where's the meteor?" I asked, looking down at the ground. "I can't remember everything. Sorry."

"It's okay, Jared. But it is a good question. We know a body impacted. Our seismographs at the Pharos Institute recorded it." Celeste said.

"You don't really need a seismograph to see that, Professor." Rani said.

"Well, this was no meteor, and these energy traces don't look like any life form I've ever seen before." Sarah said.

"Is it an alien?" Shirai asked, looking at Sarah. "Sarah Jane? Jared?"

Rani and Shirai have found a big boot print.

"Whatever landed here last night, it had big boots." Rani said.

"Not only big, but heavy. Very heavy." Celeste said.

"Whatever was here, there's something else now." Sarah said.

"Something alien?"

"No, human." Sarah said, looking at the tramp that slowly began to run away. "Hello. No, no, no. It's all right. I only want to talk. After him. He might have seen something."

"Oh, wait for me. I'm in Wellingtons!" Celeste said, worried.

Hugo's home…

The tramp runs through the piles of old cars into a home he has built for himself out of spare parts. It has a van door for a door.

"I wasn't doing anything wrong." Hugo said.

"What have you been living off, battery bunnies?" Rani asked.

"They're for my radio. Not that it works since that great ruddy iron bloke dropped down last night."

"Yeah, well, my name is Sarah Jane Smith. I'm a journalist. I just want you to tell me what you saw." Sarah said.

"The press? I'm not talking to you. I've seen what you put in the papers about people that have seen what I've seen. I do read them, you know."

"It's okay, you can trust Sarah Jane." I said, grabbing Shirai's hand.

"And I won't be able to listen to The Archers now." Hugo said.

"What if Sarah Jane fixed your radio?" Shirai asked, as Sarah Jane took out her sonic lipstick. "Will you be able to tell her what you saw after it's fixed?"

"With a lipstick? I'm homeless, I'm not brainless." Hugo said, and Sarah Jane sonicks his transistor radio and it comes back to life. "It works. You fixed it. How did you do that? What sort of batteries do you use in that thing?"

(Open POV)

Lounge…

"And then the big bad Bane went bang, and everyone got covered in gunk." Clyde said, and the baby gurgles. "Don't, don't." His phone rings. "This is Clyde. Speak to me. Thanks, Sparky. Flat as Jedward. No, no, don't cry, don't cry. Oh, come on, think, Langer. You're a born entertainer." Clyde tries mime, walking down pretend steps behind the sofa, etc. "Say hello to Sid the Sleeve. Hello, Sky. Hello, Sid. What do you call a man who wears paper trousers? I don't know, Sid. Russell! Yeah, do you get it? No, too advanced, obviously. No, no, no. Don't cry, don't cry."

Hugo's home…

"I want you to tell us what you saw." Jared said, looking at Hugo.

"You saw Iron Man. Like a man inside a robot?" Shirai asked.

"Did I say he was a robot? No. I know what a robot looks like. I've seen Iron Man. This was a bloke. His skin was all metal." Hugo said.

"Well, what happened?" Sarah asked.

"He fell out of the sky, and then stood up without a scratch on him and turned himself invisible."

"Invisible?" Rani asked.

"That's right. And I'm telling you this. He was armed to his flaming big steel choppers. If there's any more of them on the way, we don't stand a chance." Hugo said.

Wrecker's yard…

"A metal man? Is that even possible?" Rani asked.

"A biometalloid life form. He isn't Tony Stark with all of the metal suits. Why not? It's a big universe. But now it's here and it's got to be looking for Sky." Sarah said, trying her mobile phone. "Oh, Clyde's not answering. What about Mikoto?"

"Trying her now." Jared said, taking out his phone and called Mikoto to get no response. "Nothing."

"Well, whatever it is, we've got to find it before it finds Sky." Shirai said.

"Er, it's invisible." Rani said.

"Well, nothing's ever completely invisible." Sarah said.

"Oh, there you are. What have I missed?" Celeste asked.

"Not much. We need to get Mikoto."

Garden…

"Okay. No computers out here. No alien tech, no phones. You're safe. Oh, you like leaves. Leaves are good. Leaves are green. But not salad. Salad's green but it's also kind of yuck." Clyde said, looking down at Sky.

Wrecker's yard…

"Kuroko, can you get Misaka?" Jared asked, looking at Shirai.

"Right. It's because she can be more powerful than human technology." Shirai said, teleporting away and reappearing with Mikoto.

"Jared, what the hell?!" Mikoto asked, looking at Jared. "I was with Clyde and Sky."

"We'll get you back there in a bit. We, um, kinda need your help." Jared said, sadly.

Pharos Institute van…

"Well, whatever crashed here emitted UHF electromagnetic radiation. There was a radio that had its signal scrambled, Misaka. There are footprints nearby. And whatever made those might be able to turn themselves invisible. Whatever it was, it can't hide the energy trace." Jared said, looking at Misaka. "Think you can find it?"

"Easily." Mikoto said, closing her eyes to get a view of the surrounding area. "There's something here. A regular ultra high electromagnetic pulse and it's moving towards Bannerman Road."

"Rani, try Clyde again. Warn him. He has to get Sky away from there." Sarah Jane said, looking at Rani.

"Who's Sky?" Celeste asked.

"She has Esper-like abilities. Possibly a Level 2 to 3. There's something very dangerous after her." Shirai said.

"He's still not answering." Rani said, placing her phone inside her pocket and looking at Sarah.

"Come on. Thank you, Celeste." Sarah said.

"Oh, my pleasure. Oh, and be careful." Celeste said.

"Oh, I'm never careful. Always prepared."

Rani and Sarah Jane leave by car while Shirai teleports Jared and Mikoto out of there.

Celeste takes out her own lipstick, "Zap! Zap, zap!"

Garden…

Shirai teleported in at the back of 13 Bannerman Road with Jared and Mikoto ahead of the enemy. The teleporter looked behind her to see Clyde and Sky there.

"What the hell are you doing there?" Mikoto asked, looking at Clyde. "Move."

"Why did you teleport here?" Clyde asked. "Where's Sarah Jane and Rani?"

"We don't have time for that."

"She's right." Jared said, sadly. "Get out of the way, Clyde."

"Take Sky and leave." Shirai said. "You're not safe here."

The invisible visitor arrives on the road with Clyde looking down at baby Sky.

"And that's a tree, and oh, and this is grass. Cows eat grass. And they go moo and they make milk. You like milk, don't you. They also make steak. I like steak. Especially with chips. But they have to come from the chippie, definitely not from the oven. Oven chips are the work of bad cooking goblins." Clyde said, while the gates appear to open on their own. "Did you hear something? It was more like feel something."

"Damn it." Jared said, as footprints appear in a flowerbed. "Clyde…"

"Oh, what made those?" Clyde asked, reaching out and knocks on something metal. "Oh, this is not good."

"Why isn't he listening to me?" Jared asked, and the metal man makes himself visible.

"Not good at all." Clyde said, while the metal man produces a gun. "Not getting any better. Uh oh." He looks over its shoulder. "Hi!"

Metal man turns. Clyde grabs Sky's carry cot and runs with Jared, Shirai, and Mikoto, with the four dodging energy bolts.

Bannerman Road…

"Get in if you want the child to live!" Myers said, angrily.

"Who are you?" Clyde asked.

"I'm her mother. Drive." Myers said, as Clyde gets into the back of the West London Power van.

"Inside." Jared said, and the truck zooms away with energy bolts bouncing off the back of it with the fanboy entering Sarah Jane's house with Shirai and Mikoto, then the metal man goes invisible again.

Attic…

"Shirai, we need Saten and Uiharu." Jared said, sadly.

"We're leaving no one at the Judgement office." Shirai said, looking at Jared. "I'll get them."

Shirai teleports away before reappearing with Saten and Uiharu.

WLP van…

"I don't know about you, Sky, but my mum always told me never to take lifts off strangers." Clyde said.

Sarah Jane's home…

"Clyde? Clyde?" Sarah asked, entering the house with Rani.

"He's not here." Jared said, running down the stairs leading to the attic. "I forgot where he went with Sky. Someone got them. Come on! Mikoto, Shirai, Saten, and Uiharu are upstairs!"

"Clyde!" Sarah said, worried.

Attic…

"Mister Smith, I need you now." Sarah said.

"Sarah Jane, what can I do for you?" Mr Smith asked.

"I need you to find Clyde. Connect with every CCTV camera in London, every speed camera, whatever it takes, just find him."

"There are five hundred and twenty one thousand, three hundred and twenty one CCTV cameras in operation across London, Sarah Jane. It may take some time."

"Ugh. Just do it." Jared said, grabbing Mikoto's hand.

"Maybe he's just taken Sky for a walk?" Uiharu asked.

"He is at the Summerwell Nuclear Power Station." Mr Smith said.

"Well, that didn't take long." Rani said.

"Wow. You're like Uiharu but on another level." Saten said.

"Thank you for the compliment, Saten. I was lucky. It was only the ten thousand and fifty second camera I checked." Mr Smith said.

"Who is that woman?" Shirai asked.

"My name is Miss Myers." Myers said, on screen.

Summerwell nuclear power station…

"That doesn't sound like much of an alien name." Clyde said.

"We don't spell it the same way. Now give me the child." Myers said.

"No, no, no. Answers first. What was that thing back there and why is it after the baby? And what are we doing here?"

Attic…

"Come on. We need to get to Clyde and Sky." Jared said, looking at Shirai. "We'll catch up to you, Sarah, Rani."

Sarah and Rani run out of the attic as Jared is typing in coordinates into his vortex manipulator.

"Saten, Uiharu, do you want to come or stay?" Jared asked, looking at the two girls. "It is up to you two. I'm not stopping you."

"We want to come." Uiharu said, happily.

"Besides, we are talking about a baby with electrical powers. Could be interesting." Saten said, smiling.

"Sky isn't your ordinary baby." Jared said, looking between Uiharu and Saten. "She isn't like Febrie."

"We know."

"They're insistent on coming." Shirai said, grabbing the hands of Saten and Uiharu. "I'll meet you there with Jared, sissy."

"Okay." Mikoto said, when Shirai teleported away with Saten and Uiharu. "Let's go."

"Yeah. Grab on." Jared said, looking at Mikoto who placed her hand on his vortex manipulator.

"Right." Mikoto said, as she and Jared disappeared in a flash of blue light.

(Jared's POV)

Outside the power station…

Sarah and Rani arrived by car as Shirai teleported in with Saten and Uiharu. I teleported in by vortex manipulator with Mikoto by my side.

"Well, this looks like a back door." Saten said.

"See, why would that woman take Clyde and Sky to a nuclear power station?" Rani asked.

"I don't know, but you've seen the effect she has on anything electrical. Imagine what could happen there. Come on, we may not have much time." Sarah said, and we leave the gate open for the invisible metal man to go through.

Summerwell nuclear power station…

"Oh, how perfect. You see, a baby will always find her mother. Give her to me." Myers said.

"No. What are you going to do to her?" Clyde asked.

"Take her home, of course. She's the saviour of my kind. She will be the stuff of legend. Now give her to me!"

"Clyde! Clyde, run!" I said, looking at Clyde. "It's not safe there!"

Then the now visible metal man turns up.

"Oh, no." Uiharu said, fixated on the metal man.

"The flesh whelp must be destroyed." The Metalkind said.

"No!" Myers said, worried.

"Get back. I won't let you hurt this child." Mikoto said, releasing electric shocks out of her body.

"She is no child. She is a weapon." The Metalkind said.

"And she is unprimed. She isn't ready for this. You have doomed us all!" Myers said.

"She's crying." Shirai said, as Sky starts crying.

"What's happening?" Uiharu asked, and energy plays around Sky's carry cot.

"What's going on?" Rani asked.

"Sky's energy, it's flooding out of her." Sarah said.

"Yes, the weapon is priming itself. Your presence has activated it. The doom of the Metalkind is come!" Myers said.

Sky transforms into a young girl.

"Sky?" Sarah asked.

"What just happened?" Rani asked.

"I think Sky just grew up." I said, looking at Sky.

"What, with no birthdays? That's just rubbish." Clyde said, annoyed.

"I am too late." The Metalkind said.

"Face your destruction, Metalkind. The child is your doom." Myers said, while energy plays over Sky.

"What's happening to me?" Sky asked.

"Destroy him!" Myers said, as Sky throws an energy bolt at Metalkind, and he flies back backwards into a wall. "Again, my child."

"Nope." I said, still looking at Sky. "You don't have to be that."

"What am I?" Sky asked, looking at me.

"Sky, you don't have to be scared." Saten said, looking at Sky.

"You are the hammer to crush the Metalkind. You are the weapon and salvation of our species. Destroy your enemy." Myers said.

"No, Sky. You don't have to destroy anything. You don't have any enemies. Just be calm, and trust me. It's all right." Sarah said.

"She's right. You can trust me too." I said, smiling. "Everything's okay. We're here. You're safe."

"Sarah Jane? Jared?" Sky asked, looking between Sarah and I.

"Everything's going to be all right, I promise." Sarah said.

"Stop your meddling. Come with me. Return home and fulfil your purpose." Myers said.

"She doesn't want to come with you." Mikoto said, another electric shock coming out of her body.

"I am the child's mother." Myers said.

"Introducing Miss Myers. She spells it the alien way." Clyde said.

"Well, my name is Sarah Jane Smith, and I don't think you're a fit parent." Sarah said.

"She is a weapon, grown in a laboratory to destroy the enemies of my species. I grew her." Myers said.

"What does she mean?" Sky asked, looking back at me and Sarah.

"Oh, you don't have to listen to her, Sky." Shirai said. "She is not your mother."

"Well, none of us can help the way we come into this universe, but we have a say in what we become. And whatever you had planned for her, this is an innocent child, not a weapon, and Jared, Mikoto, and I will protect her from the Metalkind and we will protect her from you." Sarah said, looking at Miss Myers.

"She is under our protection." Mikoto said, another electric shock coming out of her body.

"Now!" I said, while Mikoto sends an electric shock to a piece of equipment to create sparks as a diversion. "Do it, Mikoto!"

"Run! Thank you, Mikoto." Sarah said, looking at Mikoto.

Shirai teleported out with Saten and Uiharu as I used my vortex manipulator to teleport outside with Mikoto. Sarah is running away with Clyde, Rani, and Sky.

"Shall I stop them?" Caleb asked.

"I have a better idea." Myers said.

Outside the power station…

Shirai teleported here with Saten and Uiharu as I used my vortex manipulator to appear here with Mikoto.

"We have to get you as far away from her as we can." I said, looking at Sky.

"Is she really my mother?" Sky asked, looking at me.

"All I know for sure is somebody brought you to me and Jared to protect you, and that's what we've got to do." Sarah said, entering the car with Sky, Clyde, and Rani before driving away.

"Let's go." I said, typing in coordinates into my vortex manipulator.

"Right." Mikoto said, placing her hand on my vortex manipulator and we teleported away in a flash of blue light.

Shirai teleported away with Saten and Uiharu towards 13 Bannerman Road.

Outside Sarah Jane's home…

Shirai teleported here with Saten and Uiharu as I used my vortex manipulator to appear with Mikoto while Sarah exited her car with Clyde, Rani, and Sky.

"Sarah Jane, this is where you live, I remember." Sky said.

"Sky, you remember everything since you were a baby?" Saten asked.

"How can you remember all that? It was, um, only about half an hour ago." Uiharu said, sadly.

"Clyde, why do you call a man who wears paper trousers Russell?" Sky asked, looking at Sky.

"Clyde…" I said, grabbing Mikoto's hand.

"It was a joke. It was meant to be funny. You know, it was supposed to make her laugh. Boy, does this feel familiar." Clyde said.

"You were telling her jokes? Why would you do that?" Mikoto asked. "When I was with you, I thought you were doing something else other than telling Sky jokes."

"I was trying to stop her crying."

"By making her laugh? You know what she does when she laughs." Shirai said, looking at Clyde. "She makes things explode. Sky can't control her powers like sissy."

"I like Sid the Sleeve." Sky said, happily.

"You had to be there. It's like…" Clyde said.

"Everything's so green."

"Well, this is England. It rains most of the time." Rani said, smiling.

"Sky, do you remember being brought here? Can you remember by who?" Sarah asked, looking down at Sky.

"You and Jared are the first things I remember." Sky said.

"Oh, I see. Well, now that you're grown up, can you control your powers?"

"I think so."

"You've got to promise me that you will, because I need you to meet a friend of ours."

Attic…

"Welcome to the Bat Cave." Clyde said.

"There's a cave on top of the house?" Sky asked.

"It's not a cave. It's an attic. Clyde was joking again. He does that. Sort of." Rani said.

"Mister Smith, I need you." I said, while Mr Smith doesn't come out of the fireplace.

"What's going on?" Saten asked. "Why isn't he coming out?"

"It's okay, Mr Smith. Sky won't hurt you."

Mister Smith comes out.

"Wow!" Sky said, excitedly.

"Is the child under control?" Mr Smith asked.

"It's all right. I promise." Sarah said.

"What are you?" Sky asked, looking at Mr Smith.

"I am a Xylok. A crystalline life form with highly sensitive cybernetic interfaces. I would be grateful if you would remain distant." Mr Smith said.

"But can we still be friends?"

"If my circuits remain intact."

"Sky has undergone a metamorphosis. I need you to make sure she's unharmed. Now don't worry, it won't hurt." Sarah said.

"Scanning." Mr Smith said, scanning Sky.

"It tickles." Sky said, laughing a little.

"Please, try not to laugh."

"Mr Smith, can you stop complaining? Just analyze the scan." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Biologically, Sky appears to be a healthy twelve year old child." Mr Smith said.

"Twelve? Is that a good age?" Sky asked, tilting her head.

"Well, until the spots start." Rani said.

"Rani, Saten, Uiharu, take Sky. Have a look through Luke's things. See if you three can find her something to wear." Sarah said, looking at Rani, Saten, and Uiharu.

"Sure. Come on, Sky." Rani said.

Rani, Sky, Uiharu, and Saten leave.

"Mister Smith, how did she transform into a teenager?" Sarah asked.

"Sky's synthetic DNA was programmed for this level of maturity to maximize her effectiveness." Mr Smith said.

"As a weapon?" Clyde asked.

"As a bomb. Full activation would not only destroy Miss Myers' enemies across the universe, but also kill Sky."

(Open POV)

Luke's room…

"Is Sarah Jane Luke's mother?" Sky asked, looking at Rani, Saten, and Uiharu.

"Yeah. Sarah Jane adopted Luke." Saten said, happily.

"Luke was made by aliens that wanted to take over Earth." Uiharu said, smiling. "That's what Jared told me at least."

"I like Earth. It's beautiful, noisy, smelly." Sky said.

"Yeah. It's all that. This must be so weird for you. Like, seeing the world for the first time. Everyone else, they just sort of grow up with it." Rani said.

"It's exciting."

"Oh. What about this?" Saten asked, laying out jeans and a t shirt.

"That will work." Uiharu said, looking down at the clothes. "I think they're your size too, Sky."

"They are her size. Good job, Saten." Rani said, motioning Sky to come over to her. "Sky, try these. Now, they're not exactly fashion but you'll be all right."

"What's fashion?" Sky asked, tilting her head in curiosity.

"Clothes. Like wearing nice clothes, made for a girl." Rani said.

"What's a girl?"

"And Clyde thought he had it tough with Luke by getting some help from Jared. Okay, let's log on to Ranipedia. Saten, Uiharu, mind helping me with this?"

Attic…

"Why did they do this? Making a bomb out of a child. What species is Miss Myers?" Mikoto asked.

"A binary planetary system exists at the eye of the Tornado Nebula. One has carbon based life forms similar to those on Earth. The other evolved as boron based life." Mr Smith said.

"And for those of us who were watching the netball team out the window during chemistry?" Clyde asked.

"Boron is a metalloid element." Mr Smith said.

"Oh. Like Bionis and Mechonis. But instead of those people living on two separate Titans, it's planets. One one Titan, it's full of Homs. I mean, on one planet, it's full of people that evolved like us, humans, or Fleshkind over there. And on the other Titan, it's full of Mechons. I mean, on the other planet, it's full of metal, or people that are called Metalkind." Jared said, laughing a lot.

"Did you make a Xenoblade Chronicles 1 reference?" Shirai asked, looking at Jared. "That's amazing. Something similar to two video games."

"So this Fleshkind planet, that's where Sky's from?" Clyde asked.

"Yes. The Metalkind and Fleshkind have been at war for centuries. I believe Sky was created as a doomsday weapon to destroy the Metalkind." Mr Smith said.

"Of all the things I know about. Like Project Radio Noise and Level 6 Shift." Jared said, grabbing Mikoto's hand. "Using a child as a bomb…"

"It's wrong." Mikoto said, as Jared squeezed her hand. "And it's horrible. Hideous too."

"What's a bomb?" Sky asked, entering the attic with Rani, Saten, and Uiharu.

"Oh, Sky." Sarah said, sadly.

"Miss Myers said I was a weapon. That's bad, isn't it? Am I bad?" Sky asked.

"No. No way. Miss Myers, she's the bad one, not you." Clyde said.

"What am I, then?"

"The thing inside you. Miss Myers created you like that to kill her enemies, Metalkind." Sarah said.

"Kill? What's kill?"

"You take away life. It dies. It no longer exists. And that's wrong. It's always wrong."

"But if that's what I was made to do, that makes me bad."

"No. It's not bad. Because it's not your fault, Sky." Shirai said.

"Mister Smith, there must be a way to reverse what Miss Myers has done to her." Sarah said, looking at Mr Smith.

"I regret not. At a molecular level, Sky is a weapon programmed to destruct on contact with energies of massed Metalkind. I'm sorry, this cannot be undone." Mr Smith said.

"Wait, if Sky's a bomb, can't we diffuse her?" Uiharu asked.

"Oh, Uiharu. That's brilliant. Turn off the genetic trigger. Stop her detonating. Mister Smith, is that possible? So genetically she'd be a weapon but disarmed." Sarah said.

"Only Sky's creator can do that." Mr Smith said.

"Then let's go ask her." Sky said, happily.

"Sky, it's not going to be as easy as that. Taking you back to the power station, that's dangerous." Sarah said.

"What's dangerous?"

"You could die." Mikoto said.

"Mister Smith said I could die, anyway. I don't want to be a bomb. Sarah Jane, Jared, Mikoto, will you help me?" Sky asked, looking between Sarah, Jared, and Mikoto.

Outside the power station…

"I can't help thinking this is a bad idea." Rani said, sadly.

"I know. The last thing Jared, Mikoto, and I want is that woman anywhere near Sky. But Miss Myers is the only one that can deprogram her DNA, so she has to come with us." Sarah said.

"Before we get as far as that, a small point. Miss Myers may have put the techies into a trance, but the guard looks lively. Clyde said.

"I don't want to risking the gates again. Old investigative reporter's superstition. Never break in the same way twice."

"I can do this. Mikoto and Uiharu taught me a few tricks." Sky said, smiling.

In his office, a guard watches the CCTV showing Sarah Jane driving towards the station, while he sips his mug of tea. The patrolling guard joins him just as all the car alarms in the staff car park go off. They run outside to investigate, and Clyde sonicks the barrier up behind their backs so that they can drive through. Jared teleports in with Mikoto using his vortex manipulator as Shirai uses her ability to teleport in with Uiharu and Saten.

"Sky, I need you to stay here with Clyde, Rani, Saten, and Uiharu." Jared said, looking at Sky.

"What for?" Sky asked.

"Yeah, ditto." Clyde said, annoyed.

"We need to make sure that Sky is safe until we're ready." Sarah said.

"Oh, great, so we get baby-sitting duty?" Rani asked.

"Who are you calling a baby?" Sky asked, looking at Rani.

"We're doing this by my rules, Sky. Until Jared, Mikoto, Shirai, and I convince Miss Myers that there's another way to end this war, a peaceful way, you're still in danger, and I need you to stay with Clyde, Rani, Saten, and Uiharu. Now, do you promise me?" Sarah asked, looking down at Sky.

"I suppose." Sky said, frowning.

"Right. Let's do this, guys." Jared said, running off with Mikoto, Shirai, and Sarah Jane. "This should be easy."

Summerhill nuclear power station…

Sarah Jane, Mikoto, Jared, and Shirai check the sleeping techies, then Caleb sneaks up on them.

"Oh. Good. You're here. Now, take us to your leader." Jared said, grabbing Mikoto's hand.

Outside the power station…

"They might need our help." Sky said.

"They told us to stay here." Uiharu said, looking at Sky.

"We can't go to Miss Myers. It isn't safe for you, Sky." Saten said.

"Do you four always do what Sarah Jane and Jared tell you to?" Sky asked, looking at Clyde, Rani, Saten, and Uiharu.

"Look this is a nuclear power station, which makes going in with you like doing a Houses of Parliament tour with Guy Fawkes." Clyde said, angrily.

"What are you talking about?" Sky asked.

"He means it's not safe. Anyway, you promised." Rani said.

"I don't really understand promises." Sky said, running towards the main building.

"Hey, wait!" Rani said, worried.

"That kid's going to get us into so much trouble." Clyde said.

(Jared's POV)

Control room…

"Miss Smith. Miss Misaka. Miss Kuroko. Mister Shay. Welcome back. Complete your work. I trust the four of you are taking good care of my child?" Myers asked, looking at Sarah, Mikoto, Shirai, and I.

"Yeah. But you won't be getting your hands on Sky ever again." I said, squeezing Mikoto's hand.

"Don't judge me. Do you think I like what this war has forced me to do? To become?"

"Let me ask you this. Why not deactivate the bomb within Sky?" Mikoto asked.

"Deactivate? She is our saviour. Her touch carries the power and the fury of an exploding sun. Once fully unleashed, it will destroy every Metalkind in existence." Myers said.

"Sky would be destroyed with them." Shirai said.

"A sacrifice for the preservation of Fleshkind."

"That's not a sacrifice, that's slaughter. Listen to me, please. There are other ways to end a war. You just have to want peace more than death." Sarah said.

"You know nothing. For centuries the Metalkind have savaged my people. They have swore to destroy all flesh, and what chance does flesh have against jaws and blades of iron and steel? But perhaps you will learn." Myers said, calling up a CCTV image on a screen.

Caleb is wiring the Metalkind into the power station.

"What's this?" Shirai asked.

"The child damaged the Metalkind just enough for me to make use of it. As a homing device." Myers said.

"A homing device? For what?" Mikoto asked.

"It's being wired into the nuclear core. At the flick of a switch it will summon Metalkind and they will swarm here in hordes."

"Wait. Hang on. Are you bringing your war to Earth?"

"Once your Fleshkin experience Metalkind savagery, you four will realise that the child will save us all. Caleb, make the final connection." Myers said.

"Metalkind, stop this. Earth has done nothing to hurt your people." Sarah said.

"Fleshkind tore the ore from our planet's womb to make their dumb slaves. They stole our children. We have sworn vengeance on all Fleshkind, on any world." The Metalkind said, on screen.

"I've scrambled its brain. He thinks he's calling all Metalkind to a glorious battle against Flesh, not to its destruction." Myers said.

"You're wasting your time. We will never give you Sky." I said, rolling my eyes.

"It doesn't matter. The child is primed to activate on exposure to the massed energy of the Metalkind. When they come, they will be destroyed. She cannot stop it, and neither can you." Myers said, pressing a button, and energy pulses through Metalkind.

Power station/ Control room…

"Come to me, Metalkindred. Join me and rend flesh." The Metalkind said, on screen.

Elsewhere. Uiharu called me and I immediately answered her call, knowing how bad it was.

"Uiharu." I said, my iPhone 12 Mini near my ear.

"The Metalkind is being shocked." Uiharu said, looking over at Sky. "Sky. What's wrong?"

"The Metalkind. I can feel them. They're coming." Sky said, sadly.

Control room…

"If you bring the Metalkind to Earth you're worse than them. You're bringing war to an innocent planet." Sarah said.

"This is survival. But there's still time before I open the portal. Bring me the child and I will take her home to face our enemy, and your planet will never know the butchery of the Metalkind. What would you put first, Miss Smith, Miss Misaka, Miss Kuroko, and Mister Shay? One child or your entire world?" Myers asked.

"Mikoto Misaka and I have done this a lot by now." I said, looking at Myers. "The Chemicaloid Project for her. The 456 for me. The Child Errors for her. We would risk our entire world for one child. We will do it time and time again."

"He's right. His ideals line up with me. Just wait and see what happens." Mikoto said, an electrical shock coming out of her head. "We would have another Silent Party. Wouldn't we, Kuroko?"

Shirai then nodded her head in response, knowing that Mikoto is referring to Febrie.

"Whatever you choose, Sarah Jane Smith, Jared Shay, Mikoto Misaka, Shirai Kuroko, Sky will fulfil her destiny." Myers said.

Power station…

"Sky! I thought I told you to keep her away." Sarah said, when Sky entered the room.

"She says the Metalkind are coming." Uiharu said.

"What do we do?" Saten asked, looking at me. "Do you have a plan?"

"No…" I said, frowning.

"But I do. I've got to stop them." Sky said, worried.

"No. Wars are ended by people talking, not by killing." Sarah said, looking at Sky.

"But Earth won't stand a chance. Not even with the abilities of Espers or with Magical Girls. You've been kind to me, Sarah Jane, Jared, Mikoto, Shirai. You four tried to keep me safe, but this is what I was created for."

"Sky, listen to me. This is wrong. Killing is always wrong. If you confront the Metalkind, you will die."

"If I don't, you will. Maybe this is why I was brought here. To save Earth." Sky said, running into a lift and closes the doors with her energy.

"No, Sky." Mikoto and Sarah said, at the same time.

"Sky!" Clyde said, angrily.

"This way." Rani said, looking at a certain direction.

"No. Jared, Mikoto, Shirai, and will go after Sky. Rani, Clyde, Saten, and Uiharu, get to the control room and shut down the reactor to stop the Metalkind coming through." Sarah said.

"Shut down a nuclear reactor? How exactly are we suppose to do that?" Clyde asked.

"We find a way. Any way." Rani said.

"Yeah." Saten said.

"I agree." Uiharu said, as Sky has gone down to the basement where Caleb and the Metalkind are.

Meanwhile, Clyde, Rani, Saten, and Uiharu find a guide to the power station.

"Okay, okay, control room, control room?" Clyde asked.

"Control room, come on." Rani said.

Energy plays over Sky as she slowly approaches the Metalkind.

"Sky, stop it. You can't become a weapon." I said, walking towards Sky while holding Mikoto's hand.

"Stay back, Sarah Jane, Mikoto, Shirai, and Jared." Sky said, looking at the four of us.

"You are too late, Sarah Jane Smith, Mikoto Misaka, Shirai Kuroko, and Jared Shay. The portal has opened. The Metalkind come, to their death." Myers said.

"I have to save you, Sarah Jane, Mikoto, Shirai, and Jared. I have to save Earth."

(Open POV)

Control room…

Alarms are going off.

"Clyde. Saten. Uiharu." Rani said, looking at Clyde, Saten, and Uiharu.

"What's all this about? It looks like a big arcade game." Clyde said, his eyes widening.

"Wow. This must be what is controlling the nuclear fuel rods." Saten said.

"It's just like a James Bond movie. Pull out the rods, close down the reactor, save the world." Clyde said.

"Only it's more like James Bond meets Mario." Rani said.

"Which is ace, because I'm brilliant at Mario."

"If we don't do this right, Clyde, Saten, Uiharu, we don't just go back to the last level." Rani said.

"Rani. Can I?" Uiharu asked, as she and Clyde use the joysticks to target the rods on the screen.

"But it's not coming out." Clyde said.

"It's not working." Rani said, looking at Clyde, Saten, and Uiharu.

Power station…

"Sky, don't let them use you." Mikoto said.

"It's what I am, Mikoto." Sky said, frowning.

"Sky, you're not a weapon. Not if you don't want to be. You are a child. A beautiful, innocent child. Remember what I told you, it's wrong to kill." Sarah said.

Control room…

"What are we doing wrong? What?" Clyde asked.

"Oh. We have to remove them in order. Two at a time." Uiharu said, smiling.

"Order? What order?"

"Uiharu's right. It's a spectrum. Richard of York gave battle in vain." Rani said, annoyed.

"What?" Clyde asked.

"Do it, Clyde. It's the color of the rainbow. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet." Saten said, looking at Clyde.

"Well, come on. We haven't got much time." Rani said.

Power station…

The big energy ball is getting noisy. Sound of distant marching boots.

"It's too late. They're coming. They're here!" Sky said, worried.

"The end is nigh!" Myers said, happily.

Control room…

"Come on…" Uiharu said, fixated on the screen.

The last two rods are ready to be removed.

"Almost." Clyde said.

Power station…

"No, Sky!" Jared said, looking at Sky.

Control room…

"This is the last one." Saten said.

Sky screams and the portal disappears.

Chandra home…

Power cut.

"What did you do to the telly?" Gita asked, looking at Haresh.

"That does it. Tomorrow we get this house rewired." Haresh said.

Control room…

"Emergency lighting activated." The computer said.

(Jared's POV)

Power station…

Clyde, Rani, Saten, and Uiharu run to join Sarah, Mikoto, Shirai, Miss Myers, and I. Sky is lying on the floor.

"What have you done?" Myers asked.

"We did it. We shut down the core." Clyde said.

"What happened?" Rani asked.

"All that energy had to go somewhere. Sky was like a lightning rod. She absorbed it all." Sarah said.

"And she didn't need help from the Railgun to do it." I said, letting go of Mikoto's hand.

"Yeah. No help from, sissy. But is she going to be okay?" Shirai asked.

"Wow!" Sky said, excitedly.

"Sky, are you okay?" Uiharu asked, looking at Sky.

"I feel, I feel different."

"You are different. I can feel it, too. That energy backlash, it's destroyed your genetic programming." Myers said.

"You mean, I'm not a weapon?" Sky asked, looking at Myers.

"Not even a peashooter. I have lost my daughter." Myers said.

"You saved me. And I'm not a bomb any more. Thank you."

The Metalkind breaks free and grabs Miss Myers.

"I saved some energy just for you, Fleshkind." The Metalkind said, transporting him and Myers away.

Caleb 'wakes up'.

"Uh oh. I'm too tired to think of clever answers for awkward questions. Come on. Let's go home." Sarah said.

Outside Sarah Jane's home…

I tossed Mikoto a spare vortex manipulator and she teleported away in a flash of blue light after I told her how it worked. Shirai then used her teleportation ability to bring herself, Saten, and Uiharu back to Academy City.

"Right, so all that light bulb popping and stuff, that's all finished?" Clyde asked, looking down at Sky.

"I think so." Sky said, smiling.

"Mister Smith will be relieved. And thank you. Clyde, Rani, I can always rely on you two, while Jared can always rely on Saten and Uiharu, to throw the switch when it matters." Sarah said.

Gita and Haresh arrive with a bouquet of flowers.

"Sarah!" Gita said, excitedly.

"Mum." Rani said.

"I was telling Haresh all about you fostering beautiful baby Sky. Hello."

"That's me. Hello." Sky said, happily.

"I thought you said she was a baby?" Haresh asked.

"She was." Gita said.

"I grew up." Sky said.

"Well, that's what babies do. They grow up. Not in one day. Obviously." I said, looking at Gita and Haresh.

"Obviously." Rani said.

"That would be, well, you know, alien." Clyde said.

"Yes, there was a mix-up. Social services brought me the wrong child. Would you believe it? They brought me a baby called Sky when it should've been a teenager. With the same name. Sky. Sky Smith." Sarah said.

"Sky Smith? Amazing." Gita said.

"Yes, she is. Really amazing. Now, if you'll excuse us."

"Sky Smith."

Gita and Haresh leave. The car headlights flash.

"Did you just see that?" Rani asked.

"Yeah, I reckon Sparky hasn't totally lost her spark." Clyde said, looking at Rani.

Attic…

"I just want Mr Smith to make sure there are no ill-effects from that energy blast." Sarah said, hearing a squawk nearby. "What?"

"Hello. It's nice to finally meet you." I said, looking at the Shopkeeper.

"It's nice to see you again, Jared." The Shopkeeper said, while it is the macaw and his sidekick from Lost in Time, who is looking through the telescope. "But really, Miss Smith, Mister Shay, how can you possibly see through this? The telescope, I mean."

"How did you get in here?" Sarah asked.

"I'm afraid the Captain considers that privileged information."

"Oh, yes, I forgot. You're the one in charge, aren't you?" Sarah asked, looking at the macaw and the shopkeeper.

"The bird?" Sky asked.

"Things are seldom quite what they seem, young lady. And my, haven't you grown?" The shopkeeper asked, looking down at Sky.

"What, it was you? You brought Sky here?" Sarah asked.

"And might I say, what a perfect name for such a perfect child, young Sky."

"I'd still like to know who you are. Both of you."

"Same. I never got to find out who you two are back home." I said, looking at the shopkeeper and the macaw. "The Sarah Jane Adventures was cut short."

"Cut short? What do you mean?"

"Oh. That's spoilers, Jared. But consider us servants of the universe." The shopkeeper said.

"Which means what, exactly?" Sarah asked.

"Sometimes, things can't be left to chance. Sometimes, a breeze must blow from east to west, not north to south. Sometimes, a sky should be blue, not laden with cloud. And sometimes, a child must find her way home. Which is my task, Miss Smith, Mister Shay. To put things in the right place. And of all the homes in all the universe, I could find none safer for this child than yours. That being on Earth. But specifically in Miss Smith's home."

"But who are you?" Sarah asked.

"Like come on. Tell me. I must know." I said, smiling.

"All in good time." The shopkeeper said, looking between Sarah and I.

"So, have you come back for me?" Sky asked, looking at the shopkeeper.

"Well, that depends on you."

"Sarah Jane, Jared, can I stay here with you two? That's what I want."

"Oh, Sky, it's only been a day and I feel like I've known you since you were a baby. Yes, this is your home for as long as you want it to be." Sarah said, looking down at Sky.

"Sky, Earth is your home." I said, happily. "It will always be your home. You could even consider it your forever home."

"Well, that's that then. Jolly good. Until the next time." The shopkeeper said.

"Oh, no, wait." Sarah said.

The Shopkeeper and Captain vanish.

"Who was he, then?" Sky asked, looking at Sarah and I.

"I haven't the faintest idea. but I dare say we'll find out all in good time. Oh, you two must be starving. How does pizza sound?" Sarah asked.

"Pizza sounds good. Can I pick the place?"

"You can."

"What's pizza?" Sky asked.

"Come on." Sarah said, exiting the attic with Sky and I.

"Let's go to America." I said, typing in coordinates into my vortex manipulator to teleport away in a flash of blue light with Sarah and Sky. "I was thinking of us having pizza at a flea market."
