The Head Guard couldn't be any less than the Sultan if he wanted to show his resolution and standing, so he didn't respond with a shield but with another sword.
The sword that he conjured through his energy was no less than the one the Sultan conjured, whether it was in size, energy, colour, and density.
They were identical!
At this point, no matter how much the Head Guard regretted his previous decisions of protecting these fu*cking fence sitters he couldn't return time back.
Of course, it wasn't like everyone he protected was nothing for good, but he didn't want to use them immediately in fear that the rest would join the Sultan's side.
They were his trump card.
Most probably the Sultan was the same, but the most troublesome character in the whole play now was the Vezir, who had in more than one occasion shown his 'hunger' for the throne.
