Ronald Weasley looked blankly at Jewel as she moved over his body like a snake. Ron still couldn't believe he chose this woman over Hermione. What exactly got into his head back then?
Jewel was beautiful and sexy.
But she was also dumb and depthless.
Just like Lavender Brown.
May be he was naturally drawn to bimbos.
Everything was perfect in the beginning. But slowly things became boring and repetitive.
The charm was lost.
They attended parties and Jewel, an heiress from Ireland, flaunted her affluency to remain popular. Initially Ronald found this new found wealth very attractive. But slowly he started seeing the emptiness behind everything. He wished he could go back to the time when Hermione would fix a date and then miss it due to studies and Harry would ask him to keep calm and be a better boyfriend.
Then, the weeks were busy. And the weekends were busier.Every Sunday he would go back to the Burrow and at times even Moine joined the family brunch.
Oh!! What lovely times.
Now Ron has money, thanks to Jewel.
And he is the Deputy Minister of Magic, thanks to the ever weird Harry Potter.
He has everything and nothing at the moment.
At times Ron wondered, what was he doing with his life? What was his purpose?
He was no more an Auror, so he missed all the actions. And he was no more a Weasley, so he missed all the fun.
How did he end up here?
After the declaration of the Marriage Law, Ron and Jewel suddenly realized that they were still childless and if this continues, the marriage will crumble to ashes even before they could blink.
Not that Ron cared. But what then? Another Jewel? Another marriage? Another uncertainty?
He was not ready for experimenting with life.
He was so tired of everything.
He just wanted a status quo at best.
Jewel never wanted a child and Ron couldn't care less. But now it mattered. It was a whip, not a choice. And having kids was a compulsions, not an option.
Jewel snaked her arms round his neck and whispered dirty hot words in his ears. But Ron felt dirty. Dirty like a ditch. He couldn't enjoy the intimate actions. Everything felt wrong.
So very wrong.
It was almost a decade since the day of the fallout. He thought he had burried Hermione Granger in his past but the recent incidents triggered an unknown anger in his heart. How could she choose Harry and Malfoy? He, Ronald Weasley, was her first love. He had her first kiss. He was her boyfriend not Harry, not Malfoy. It was Ron who destroyed the pendant horcrux when it portrayed Harry and Hermione together. He thought Voldemort's horcrux was just polluting their minds. But wasn't that vision turning into reality now? Hermione Granger promised Harry Potter that she would help him keep the Potter bloodline ongoing. Sex or no sex.... she agreed to a complicated spousal relationship with Harry Potter, his own Best friend and brother in law. This was beyond Ron's acceptance.
And the woman seemed to be hell bent to be with Draco Malfoy. She almost rejected Harry Potter for that bloody Ferret. What possibly could that slimy git give her that Ronald Weasley couldn't?
Ron knew Hermione's deep dark secret.
The mudblood curse.
He promised to find a way out together.
Ron sighed, seems she has found the solution at last. Else how could she talk about having kids with purebloods like Harry or Ferret?
Harry could be genetically labeled as a Half blood wizard. But the Potters were pure bloods and bloodlines were drawn in a patriarchal way.
Ron regretted everything from a few months of the break up. But by then he was six feet under and Hermione was like gone with the wind.
If only... if only....
Right at that moment Jewel positioned herself over Ron and his trance broke. His body was awakened by her touch but he didn't crave for sex. He didn't want to reciprocate her actions. He didn't feel like ravaging the sexy blonde who was worshipping his body for the past half an hour.
In a swift motion Ron pushed Jewel away and grabbed his overcoat. He couldn't be with his wife when his mind was so full of Hermione Granger. It would be an offense. He was a loyal man and he didn't want to betray his wife.
Even before Jewel could react, Ron banged the door shut and headed for his study. His mind was exploding and he needed firewhiskey.
ASAP.
As Ronald poured his glass, he heard a knock on the door.
He knew it was Jewel.
She was the last person Ronald wanted to face at the moment.
Nonetheless, she entered.
And he didn't object.
Jewel sat opposite to him and poured herself a glass.
" I understand you are disturbed, but we need to do what we need to do. Isn't it?"
Ron nodded.
She was right.
He walked over to his wife and embraced her deeply. He liked how she felt.... how she smelled. Just that she was not her.
As if understanding his uncertainty, Jewel slipped out of his embrace tactfully.
"We will try some other day Sweetheart. Let's rest"
With that the Weasley couple walked towards the bedroom but their minds remained miles apart in their respective worlds of thoughts.
