Justino, for whatever reason, began courting Wendi almost as soon as Gwendolyn left. His method of courting was simple; he would barge into the store and sing at her while she called for the guards. (This is probably because his first intrusion, he sat down on the edge of a table, ruining no less than six of the wicker containers and some of their contents.)
Now, on the one hand, those wicker storage units weren't the best secured features anyway. An hour's work, at most, to re-attach them. On the other hand... oh, you don't have his fat ass. Four containers, maybe five, unless you were trying to do damage.
And maybe he had been, as a way of directing all her attention at him.
I would come from the back, "Is my help needed, Masteress Wendi?"
"Are you a guard?" she would reply.
I would shrug and say "I will be in the back if you change your mind."
Okay, so first, my apologies for yesterday; I was traveling between cities. Also, apologies for when I head back on Monday, I might miss a chapter then.
The truth is, I didn't even know Justino had sisters until I started writing this chapter. I've no clue why all three of them have time to harrass Wendi. I'm sure I'll figure it out.
As always, thank you for your continued readership. I debated writing a second chapter today (because you are worth that effort), but the truth is that this weekend isn't going to leave me time for that. Sorry.
