Chapitre 80: Enhanced stomach capacity
My entire morning is spent guiding Sean to improve his form. He is a quick learner and responds well to all instructions I give. I'd judge that he only needs two or three more lessons to level up his skill.
He must be truly talented since it took me months to get to level two. Or maybe I'm just that good of a teacher. Haha, who would believe that I am such a godly teacher?

The lesson ends and Sean profusely thanks me before leaving. It feels good to earn gratitude after working hard. With a warm feeling in my chest, I make my way to the employee dining hall.
Today's menu, spätzle. The dish is new to me but the others all seem to know it well. According to Pata's explanation, Spätzle are thick but short egg noodles that are made by mixing flour, eggs, salt, and water into a sticky mess and then running it through a spätzlepress into boiling water.
Sounds simple enough maybe I'll ask melody to try making them sometime in the future. Pata goes on to explain that spätzle are served in a variety of different ways. When he mentions that cheese spätzle are the most common the entire room safe for Pata and Darwin cringes.
"Guy, if you value your rear assets then don't ever eat the cheese variant."
Navi honestly sounds scared. And Pata shows no angry reaction towards a comment that goes against his food. Instead, he just looks at Navi and goes.
"If you don't have what it takes then don't eat it."
But today's variant isn't the cheese sort. A plate filled with those spätzle is placed before everyone present along with a full container of mysterious sauce.
"This is Pata's new secret sauce for mouth-watering spätzle experiences. No need for anything but the main dish and the sauce, enjoy!"
Nothing but egg noodles and sauce? The lack of variety makes me a slight bit concerned.
Mimicking the others I grab my sauce container and pour a generous helping over the steaming noodles. The smell of the sauce does indeed make my mouth water.
I grab the soup spoon provided and stir around in the steaming noodles to equally spread the sauce over everything. After the noodles are wholly covered I scoop a small helping onto the soup spoon and bring it to my mouth.
The taste explodes in my mouth and my brain goes blank. Right as it recovers I bite down on a single spätzle and the outstanding texture of the noodle throws my mind right back into blank space limbo.
Pata was right, there is no need for anything besides the noodles and the sauce. My usual gluttony takes over and everything becomes a blur.
I reach my usual limit but something is different. I can keep eating! I know my limit quite well but it seems to have been extended. I keep eating getting my plate refilled by Pata whenever he can spot the bottom of the plate appearing.
I wake up in my room. Eating so much must have knocked me out clean.
<Sure did. However, congratulations on obtaining your eating capacity skill. You only got the most basic version but it's still a great improvement.>
And what's that supposed to mean? Status!

And what was that about my skill being the most basic type?
<I guess it can't hurt to tell you. The skill I use while eating is called fairy energy digestion. All food that enters my stomach will be turned into fairy energy. The fairy energy takes up less space so I can eat more. I still need to digest it though. Valeria has a similar skill called blood essence digestion. All that's different is that instead of fairy energy her food is turned into blood essence. In comparison, your skill just increases your stomach's capacity by a bit.>
That does sound a bit basic but what about the others?
<Jade doesn't have one, Edward has an omnivorous stomach, Darwin has his true gluttony skill, and Monica has an energy conversion skill.>
Monica, what happened to her?
<Her circumstances are a bit special so she is currently training in the employee dining hall. You probably just overlooked her.>
Special circumstances, huh. I've got bigger fish to fry right now. Darwin said that I could take some time off after this next mission.
<That's indeed so though it would be nice if you could still fit in some lessons with Sean. The time is among other things to make you moving into a house easier.>
So what is this next mission?
<You were told about the heads of the great dungeon alliance, yes? Emperor Vespasian, the dungeon master of Colosseum madness is currently going on an offensive and wants you to lead a group of kobaloi. Since kobaloi are basically goblins we believe most of your skills should work.>
And what is the aim of this offensive? Do I have to burn and loot another village?
<Nothing of the sort. All you need to do is clear a dungeon floor of any adventurers and soldiers occupying it. The only problem is that the floor theme is a swampy forest.>
Ah, I get the worst jobs once again. Do I at least get some backup?
<You are part of the backup. The main forces will be others.>
