Jade fired a second shot. This time, her aim was his throat. 

Even if some miracle happened and he survived a head injury, she destroyed his throat too as his body plummeted downward.

"NO!" Xander and Xyler screamed through the mind link. They never wanted blood on her hands. 

With a surge of fury, Xyler's velocity intensified, and at the very last moment before Zale's body neared the earth, Xyler skillfully unleashed a fiery blast from his mouth, reducing Zale's body to ashes. 

Jade was taken aback, her eyes widening in surprise. Little did she anticipate his action one bit but that cry…

She shuddered, recalling the painful screams through their mind link. Xander must have felt hurt, knowing he could not save her from herself and let her taint her hands with blood. 

However, Jade wasn't bothered. It was her life. Her mind. Her hands. Her conscience.
