The mission had been very simple and it was the sort of mission the Jade Maidens had received many times from their father; 

Head to one of the tens of thousands of worlds in Nirvana and rid it of the God-King who was getting the misguided idea to turn against the Cosmic Emperor's rule.

With Nirvana being completely in Hal's control, every single occurrence was well known to him and he could have intervened personally right from his magnificent throne without needing to lift a finger but he saw it as a stage for his little mischievous darlings to prove themselves.

Doting as he was, Hal refused to let his daughters believe they could simply take part in his conquest of the three realms just because they inherited boons from him and so he sent them out on the occasional mission to test their mettle.
