Chapter 13: Training the senses
(Long chapter for you folks, next chapter is going be a comedy one, so I made training chap for you guys. Enjoy)
6 Months later
For the last six months, I have been training my hearing and I am quite proud to stay that I am officially awesome.
I have trained my hearing in many different ways because I wanted to get the training done as fast as possible, while also getting the maximum benefits. So I shut down my other senses, using a blindfold to cover my eyes; though I could use x-ray anytime to see through it. I stopped myself and just closed my eyes. I used a clothespin on my nose to stop any distracting odors or scents.
After the first day, I kept on dialing my hearing up and down. I started at all the heartbeats in the Amazon rainforest to the smallest of insects to the biggest of elephants. I worked my way down from the loudest beats to the most most successful smallest.
My mind counted at total of 1.2 million heartbeats in the Brazilian rainforest alone , in fact I even got a nosebleed. It was very minor It appeared because there was a slight hint of trauma in my cerebral cortex. I wasn't used to all these pieces of information that were crossing my brain all at once and this redoubled my efforts because I had just bled, if something like this can make me bleed then any random idea Comic Reed Richards thinks in the damn shower could kill me. I ran my solar energy through my brain and in just 2 minutes, good as new.
I noticed that my brain actually grew better, it was a very slight improvement but I could definitely feel it.
So after each mental training and physical training session, I circulated my solar energy through my body.
Each time it made a full cycle in my body, my reserves would go grow. Now it takes a lot solar energy to make a full cycle, in fact it took 95 percent of solar energy reserves to just get half a cycle.
Well, thank god for the almighty cheat for that is the Sun.
It practically gives me infinite solar energy in the day and it replenishes my reserves faster than I can use them. So a perpetual infinite boost, if it were that easy.
The body, mind and soul all need to be equal, if one part grows two strong, the user will die.
Movie Superman never did this and so his body was always stronger than his mind and soul, especially the soul.
But it never impacted it that much because it was natural, he never worked on them; so his body could still have a little sort of equilibrium. But it also gave him a weakness to magic and other dimensional energies.
For me, my mind and soul are growing much faster than my physical body, but it's not that much that I will die or anything. It's just that if I continue going this way, it will hurt me to use my energy; which is a big no no.
But this is in the future, I am doing good so far. I think that if I continue without strengthening my body and keep on strengthening my mind and energy reserves. My energy will start to destroy my body from the inside. So basically I will explode with the force of multiple atomic bombs. But no worries I have a training plan for my body in mind.
Also thank goodness, that solar energy also nourishes my body; although to a lesser degree because my muscles are not tired or teared at all so the benefits are minimized to the limit.
However, I have a feeling that if my muscles were really tired and torn up and I circulated Solar energy through them; my body would get hundreds of times more benefits than me using solar energy to make my mind grow stronger.
It's like that solar energy was made to strengthen the body instead of the mind, so there must be a type of energy for the mind and soul. It still benefits the mind, but it's minor and not really cost effective.
This discovery had made me so eager and giddy for days, but I continued my routine with discipline.
Fast forward two months from that and I was able to have full control of my hearing. I could figuratively and literally use my hearing to zoom in on something. I could use it as a lie detector since I spent so much time just listening to heartbeats, I can tell the difference between a calm heart and a distressed one.
Now for the last four months, I have been using my hearing to live. The animals were so weirded out how I just kept on stumbling and falling into the pond many many times, but I persevered.
My food supplies could last me 4 months before I needed to hunt again. So for one week I lived with a blindfold and a clothespin on, I familiarized myself with my daily routine; it took lots of trial and error even for me.
I had also started to work on a fighting style that would focus on me using my hearing. This was inspired by Toph from Avatar: The last airbender.
The girl was blind, yet a complete badass. She used her hearing to hear the vibrations someone makes when they step on the ground and since she was a earthbender, she was super sensitive to the earth. This style of fighting was practically created to be used by her.
I of course can't bend earth, but my hearing is much much more advanced than Toph's. So the theory is that I can sense every single move that an enemy makes from the vibrations they generate that goes from the core to the earth and then back again. Now this is absurd, there are hundreds of different vibrations that go into the earth with only one person. Now multiply that with 7 billion people, it would literally kill me.
Toph earth-bending protected that from her, but I have no such thing. So I am gonna have to create something like a domain around me that will allow me to "sense" anything in this range. So it would limit myself from going overboard but in the range I would technically be all-knowing, I will know every move you are going to make before you make it. A domain too large will be too hard to control, too small and it won't be that effective.
Most of mcu villains are close-combatants or energy based. So I should probably aim for something around 15-20 meters for now.
Now this ability that I am creating is very similar to Observation Haki in the anime One piece.
Observation Haki is a form of Haki that grants the user a sixth sense that allows them to sense the presence, strength, and emotions of others, as well as gain limited precognitive abilities.
Now observation Haki wouldn't work here, unless the loophole I made for Man of mysteries works.
Now for people who complain saying that you can't use abilities from different universes.
Who says that you can't use abilities from different multiverses. Different laws, well they don't affect me. Man of mysteries shields me from them, so they don't know what I am doing. So I can technically use any ability even it's from something the Lovecraft mythos as those so called Balance-keepers don't know that it's from there.
You see since the entity included my destiny here, that means that whatever I do is fair game since to the universe I was always suppose to do it. Whatever powers, skills, abilities, I create or use will be "normal". So If I can create and use observation Haki, nobody will know that it is from another multiverse. They will just think I created it and since it's from another multiverse I am pretty sure no can copy them. Now if they wonder why, well Plot armor strikes again and they will just think it's a unique ability and move on. Of course I can't create anything too powerful or overpowered where they will begin to suspect. But creating abilities that are very similar to abilities here is fine.
Spider-Man's Spidey sense works very similar too observation Haki or at least close to it. I just have to include mix some principles between the two and Bob the builder is my uncle.
So here I am in the present currently wearing a blindfold that has been covering my eyes for the last six months. I started to work on observation Haki about 1 month ago. I had took ropes and tied 9 logs in the beginning each in all directions. I stopped myself from using my brain to memorize the positions of the logs and turned my speed down to regular human level.
I got hit way too many times than I would like to say, but after 3 hours of continuously getting logs hitting me in the face countless times. For a split second I felt a log coming at me leaving slight after images and for some reason I could see this faint blue outline of it and I dodged on instinct.
I remember falling on to the ground and acting like an idiot yelling out things like Crew your rules universe.
Anyways the more I did the training, the blue outline grew and grew til the point where I could see the whole object. I was not satisfied with just that, so I kept on going and after 2 weeks I could see all 9 logs coming and going like bright blue lights in the dark.
I eventually increased the number of logs, which has led me to currently dodging 18 logs coming from all directions.
I was about to stop for today as it was getting a bit late, but something weird happened. Some Blue lights came out a total of 18 lights.
They aligned themselves in a way that caused me to realize, what these lights represented.
They represented the Directions in the omniverse.
Up, Down, North, South, East, West and all the in between like Northwest etc...
They formed an omnidirectional circle and there lights started to reach towards me, I stood my ground having faith in my abilities.
The moment they touched me, all the darkness evaporated instantly and what appeared in front of me was the outside.
For a moment I thought I accidentally opened my eyes and used X-ray vision, the thought was denied the next second. X-ray vision could never allow me to see the sight that was in front of me.
I could see everything, from the lush green grass to the sparkling blue water from the pond. It was like I was in paradise.
I could see and feel anything I wanted, I could see the grass from the top, bottom, side even under from its roots.
However, this only seems to extend up to 15 meters after than was normal blue lights again.
I achieved Domain and I was so proud and thankful that I noticed the extra blue light. If the process had been interrupted, I would have regretted for life.
My anticipation built up and I slowly examined the abilities this new domain gave me.
It appears to slow down the perception of time. Allowing me to perceive every detail in the environment include muscle movements, motion vectors, and distance to objects. I already had access to see the motion vector and the distance to objects, but this multiplied it to a whole new level. I was able to quantify the information I was seeing, like reading a complete graph, the height of the grass, the wind speed of the air around me.
It creates this feeling that there's a secondary brain helping one process all the information.
It also gives me 360-degree Stereoscopic Vision: It is within a range of 15 meters in diameter, however, the maximum distance will definitely increase by training. I Can see everything within the range, from any angle desired, even if one's eyes are closed.
Improved Telescopic Vision:
Same effects as Stereoscopic Vision, but in a straight line ahead of the user rather than 360 degrees. The range is greatly increased over the 360-degree version due to focusing on the ability and it goes up to 30 meters.
I was ecstatic and after 6 months of being blind, I think it was time for me to take it off.
I got prepared to suffer from the greatest Phototobia of the century. (When you exit the movie theater and suddenly it's so bright that it hurts your eyes)
I took off the blindfold and my breath hitched. Instead of the sun hurting me, it welcomed me to see it's full glory. The sun was setting and it dyed the sky a fiery orange, it was breathtakingly beautiful.
I stood there for 15 minutes just taking in the sight and I will not deny that I had a few tears here and there from how beautiful it looked.
Looks like everything is magnified for me now that I have achieved observation Haki and even something normal can look beautiful.
I walked back to the sight and I saw it, the very bane of my existence; Shit.
