Axel was curious about the use of infinity energy. Mark had said that there were many uses of it but we could not still unravel a mere percent of it.
The elemental rank Pokemons could dabble on the use of infinity energy. They could sense infinity energy more properly than in rare rank. They would be more accustomed to it which would let them to customize and even create new moves. Of course, Axel's Pokemons were an exception to this due to the help of the system.
The general moves like 'Flamethrower' or 'Earthquake' could be used by most of the Pokemons for a reason. They are made in such a way that Pokemon don't need to manipulate infinity energy much as specific moves like 'Shadow jump' or 'String armor'.
Another reason why most of the Pokemon could use was hereditary. Their parents and ancestors had used those moves so many times that they were now accustomed to them.

Now coming on to pseudo-king and king-rank Pokemons. Axel learned some new things about these ranks. Pseudo-king and pseudo-Champion have the name 'pseudo' in them cause this was a transition phase to becoming a King rank and Champion rank respectively.
So, when a Pokemon reaches pseudo-king rank or pseudo-champion rank, it was almost guaranteed to reach king rank or champion rank.
A pseudo-king rank Pokemon could manipulate infinity energy much better than elemental rank Pokemons. So, when an elemental rank Pokemon gets tired after using its new move only 1 or 2 times, pseudo-king rank could use those moves multiple times with more power. Their stats are also heightened to a good degree.
Pokemons had to fulfill a lot of requirements to reach King rank. Those conditions were:
1. A good mastery of ability.
2. Create a domain.
3. Create or modify a new move.
4. Their body must be stronger to hold and manipulate infinity energy.
The conditions were vague but that was what determined a weak king-ranked Pokemon from a stronger one.
The one having a better mastery of abilities would be stronger than others and so on.
Being a King rank Pokemon gave them many benefits.
First of all, their ability would improve. It was a qualitative improvement. For example, if 'Blaze' would increase the fire power by 50%, then, when a Pokemon reaches king rank, 'Blaze' could increase the firepower by 100%.
However, it was not certain what boost the Pokemon would get. It was always random.
A King rank Pokemon could also talk in human language and they can use a domain.

Giovanni didn't have a Champion rank Pokemon, so he could not tell much about it. But he had seen Champion rank Pokemons and also taken notes from Charles who was a Champion. So, he did have some knowledge about it.
Pseudo-Champion like pseudo-king rank was a transition phase for reaching Champion rank.
Pseudo-champion rank would have more stamina and better stats with better knowledge on how to manipulate infinity energy. They could further evolve their new or modified moves due to a better understanding of infinity energy.
Giovanni was not hundred percent sure about all the requirements to rank up to Champion rank but he was sure about some of them.
1. The Pokemon must fully master its hidden ability. Unlike pseudo-king rank, who would just have to have good mastery, a Pokemon should fully master its hidden ability.
2. They should further improve their domain.
3. They should create a new move. This was the main condition for rank-up. Unlike pseudo-king rank where a Pokemon could modify or create a move, a pseudo-champion should create a new move.
Ranking up to champion gave Pokemon a lot of benefits. First was the domain. Unlike king-ranked Pokemon, champion rank could use the domain as a passive ability.
If Piloswine became a champion-ranked Pokemon, ice would start to form around it automatically.
The Pokemon's hidden ability would improve just like a king rank. But Giovanni said that hidden abilities were much different than ability and this would show when a Pokemon reaches champion rank.
###
Nothing much could be said about Master rank as only Oak had master rank Pokemon. Oak was not really secretive about this but not many would dare to ask Oak. Oak was a dangerous man. He was feared by trainers.
Giovanni assumed that when a Pokemon reaches master rank they would be the closest to their primal self.
Ancient Pokemon and today's Pokemon were very different. For example, it was assumed that Charizard was a dragon-type Pokemon in ancient times. Not much was known about Ancient Pokemon as there was not many evidence of it.
But what Giovanni was sure, was about their mastery of infinity energy. Master rank Pokemon could manipulate infinity energy as an extension of their body.
It was also assumed that master-rank Pokemon could manipulate infinity energy from the surroundings too.
Axel didn't think much about master-rank Pokemon cause that was a long way to go. He now needed to focus on pseudo-king rank and king-rank Pokemon.
Alakazam had become a pseudo-king rank but Shedinja and others were far away from reaching that stage.
Alakazam was been with Axel for 7 years. It had mastered its moves to a good degree and also its abilities. With the solution of shadow Pokemon, its stats were improved a lot. That was why it was able to reach pseudo-king rank.
However, it had only been 3 months since Shedinja and the team reached elemental rank. It would take a lot of time for them to reach the pseudo-king rank.

Axel decided that he need to get away from the book and travel to the forest. He was promised 50% of the resources from the forest and he could choose 25 Pokemons every year.
He had already chosen a Slowpoke for his uncle. Today he decided to choose 20 Pokemons with moderate potential and sell them to the trainers of Hakone city.
He would still have 4 Pokemons left that he could choose for himself or his family.
