Chapitre 30: Preparation (1.1)
Someone helped me get up, I felt the sting on my face, my arms, and my legs, I groaned even more.
"Sit here"
"Thank you"
I sat down on a chair, I looked up to see who helped me and my eyes widened, I also blushed since this man doesn't look real.
"Let me take a look at your injuries"
"It's fine, I'm okay, I'll live!"
I hurriedly say my heart is pounding because of nervousness, this man is beautiful, that's not even the word that suits him, he's like a mix of a 3D person and a real person.
He has shoulder-length red hair, strands of it are framing his face.
A tattoo of a heraldic symbol under his right eye, his nose is perfectly straight from bridge to tip, his eyes are bloodshot red, and his face is perfectly sculpted, he has a sharp and masculine jawline.
Not to mention he's wearing a cross piercing with a diamond on the centre.
I am legit swooning, just looking at this man.
"Milady"
"W-What was that?!" I jumped at his voice.
"I have not seen you before in the Sun Palace neither in the Core Palace that other royals are currently residing"
There's another royalty here? What does he mean by that?
"Yet you came inside the royal garden, no one else can enter here but the blood of royalty, who are you?"
"Ahaha, sorry I should've introduced myself, I'm Seraphine Armaclei"
His eyes widened when I said my name, why is everyone surprised-
Right, Armaclei my surname.
"So you have already arrived"
"Just yesterday"
"Luke! I took care of the Honey Hornet"
Another person is headed towards us, I was about to look up to see, but the man named Luke blocked my line of vision.
"Your majesty! Stay where you are"
"Is something the matter?"
"Another Honey Hornet came by, please take care of it"
"What about the-"
"She needs assistance to the infirmary"
"Alright, but I don't think that I'm the person to escort Honey Hornets towards their nest"
Luke then turned around to face me, his expression full of seriousness, I wondered what's on his mind.
"Can you stand, Princess?"
He instantly knows that I'm a Princess.
"I'm a little-" he cuts me off wrapping his arm around my shoulder, and putting a hand behind my thigh "wait what are you?!"
He carried me in his arms bridal style, I panicked.
"Stay calm, I won't do anything to you"
He says with a straight face, I stared at his beautiful face then looked away blushing, face-palming.
"Stuff keeps happening to me" I groaned under my breath
-Rose Garden: Exit-
"You don't have to carry me, all the way out"
"It's fine, you are hurt, It is a gentleman's duty to help a maiden in need"
His voice is deep but smooth.
Stop it mind!
"Princess!" Elinna and the other maids went towards us
"Chancellor Luke!" Mary Ann says shock
"Chancellor?!" I exclaimed at the man who was carrying me
"She had a little accident when she ran away from a Honey Hornet, she needs to go to the Infirmary"
"A Honey Hornet is harmless, even though they are pranksters"
Thanks for the late heads up, Mary Ann.
"The others can take me to the Infirmary-"
"They can't possibly carry you, Princess, let me handle carrying you to the infirmary"
"But aren't I heavy?"
"Nonsense" he shakes his head "I lifted much heavier items in my life you are lighter than those items, you barely weight at all"
Now that he pointed that out, I suddenly became aware of his well toned-chest that my arm is pressing on.
Thought process, can you stop, for just a moment? This isn't the time to check this guy out.
-Infirmary-
"Doctor, are you inside?"
"Come in"
He opened the door and entered, the Doctor looked up, surprised, his eyes landed on me, he then chuckled.
Stop laughing at me!
"It surprised me when I saw the Chancellor of the Sky Kingdom suddenly walking in my infirmary, but then I saw you, Princess Seraphine, I immediately knew that the Chancellor is not the one that needs my aid"
I feel the mocking tone of Doctor. Edgar,
"She encountered a Honey Hornet at the Palace Garden, she got frightened"
"Please sit her down," Doctor Edgar says
The doctor applied ointment on the scratches, bruises and cleaned the bleeding wounds.
"You are a magnet for trouble"
"I didn't mean to become 'trouble', Mary Ann didn't even say anything, about a Honey Hornet"
"I genuinely forgot to mention it, princess, please forgive me" I just shake my head
"Er...so"
I looked at the redhead, he shot his brows up, curiously looking at me.
"Your name is Luke"
"Ah!" He chuckled
That laugh is to die for, his sharp fangs could be seen.
"Apologies for not introducing myself princess"
I nod at him, he then puts his arm down his abdomen, giving an elegant bow to me.
"I am Luke Alberone, the Chancellor of the Sky Kingdom, and the cousin of the King, a pleasure to meet the future Queen of the Sky Kingdom"
"Say what?"
"You are going to get engaged to our King in three days, you cannot meet each other before that happens"
"Etiquette?"
"Besides etiquette, it is also a law, if you get engaged and has not properly met each other at a designated place the father-in-law has appointed, but you had a fated encounter, you must immediately marry"
What kind of law is that? A made-up one?
('That is not a made-up law, princess, that law is real so that, couples do not marry under wedlock')
Wedlock?

"That's interesting," I said that out loud
"It is" I forgot that Luke was talking to me "That is why you cannot meet yet"
Was he in on our conversation?
('No you weren't listening to what he is saying, hahaha')
"But I also got curious what you are like, Princess Seraphine"
"Huh?"
"Our King is finding the right woman to marry, he wants to become part of the Armaclei family but sadly, Princess Phoebe is unavailable, but thankfully you came along."
"That's great"
For him, I added in my mind.
"You lack a bit on the edges, but with some refining, you will become a splendid Queen"
I feel like his saying; 'You could act more ladylike' or is it just my imagination?
"In any case, I think you are now fine"
"Thank you for bringing me here"
Even though I didn't need to get carried like that.
"Of course, it was nice meeting and getting to know you, Princess Seraphine"
"You too"
"May the Sun give Blessings to your highness"
He gracefully bows again, before leaving the infirmary.
"I don't want to go to the Rosé Garden again"
"Princess walking around after a meal is custom"
If it's not etiquette it's custom, I don't want the title Princess anymore.
"I'll walk around INSIDE the palace halls, but not outside, okay?"
"Alright, Princess"
"At least you can escort me around and I won't get lost"
"Forgive me again for not informing you about the Honey Hornet, Princess"
"It's fine, it's fine"
"Now we must change your clothes again since you will meet the etiquette teacher, Marchioness Vivian"
"Oh, man…"
We went back to my room, and the maids wiped the dirt away from my arms and legs and my face, after that, I changed into another dress, a dress of my choice.
"Can we not convince you to wear formal attire, princess?"
"This is formal for me" I stated
Mary Ann slumped her shoulders, I gave an apologetic smile to her, she just nods in understanding.
"Let us lead you to the drawing-room"
-Palace: Drawing Room-
"I am Marchioness Vivian Laurent, it is an honour meeting you, Princess Seraphine"
The Marchioness is an old woman in about her 50's or 60's, she looks very wise.
"Likewise" I nod
Her eyes travel at what I was wearing, she raises a brow, I raised a brow in return to her, she closes her eyes then nods.
"Let us start our lessons"
The lessons consisted of walking properly and receiving the crown, a book is on my head for her to observe my posture.
"It seems that there will be no problem in your carrying yourself in your coronation, Princess Seraphine"
"Really?"
"Yes"
It was almost sunset when we finished, surprisingly the scratches on my arms and legs doesn't hurt any more, or my face at that. I had tea with the Marchioness but I wasn't listening to what she was saying, it was gossip about families.
But what caught my interest is when she spoke about Marques and Barons being involved with an enemy Empire, that reminded me of what Lucianus was doing, his capturing Marques and Barons, and punishing them.
"Why are those nobles getting involved with an enemy Empire"
Marchioness Vivian had a sullen look on her face, she sets her teacup down on the saucer then looks up at me.
"Everyone is giving up because the Holder of the Prophecy abandoned this world"
My eyes widen at what she said.
"That is why nobles are siding with the enemy empire"
I don't know why but anger surged inside me, I slammed my hand on the table making her jump.
"They're traitors"
"Y-Yes they are"
"I'm sorry for that" I quickly said, a knock came to our attention.
"Princess it is almost time for dinner," Elinna's voice said outside the door
"Then it is time for our lesson to end," The Marchioness says
She stands up gracefully bowing to me, I smiled and nod to her.
"I will first take my leave"
"Thank you for today"
She exits the drawing-room, Elinna comes in after she exits beckoning me to go eat.
-Palace: Dining Hall-
"How were your lessons?"
"It went well," I said to Uncle
"I have a gift for you tomorrow"
"Thanks…" I said a little lost in thought.
"Is something bothering you, my dear?"
"Why are nobles betraying this Empire? Did they really lose hope that the Prophecy won't return?"
Uncle looked surprised, his jaw clenched, he was thoughtful for a moment before he smiled at me.
"Patience wears thin when you've waited for so long, Seraphine, the people here waited for your mother's return, but she never did, that is why people lost hope, or the hope that they are clinging on is as thin as a thread now"
"..."
"That is why we need you crowned as soon as possible to let the people know that you have taken your mother's place, you are our silver lining now"
"But can I do it?"
"It's not a matter of asking you if you can Seraphine, you must do it"
"...I'm scared"
"I will support you as best as I can, don't be afraid to be brave"
I smiled at my uncle, he ruffles my head and ushered me to continue eating, after we ate, he told me to get to bed early, since I need to wake up for another round of preparing.
