Chapitre 29: Preparation (1)
I didn't struggle this time to Elinna's surprise, I willingly complied and let them bathe me, they scrubbed my back, arms and legs, the floral scent of the soaps wafted inside the bathroom.
But what caught my attention earlier when, all of us entered the bathroom is, the stones that they use, it piqued my interest what it was.
"What was the stone that you dropped on the water?"
"A magi-stone"
"Magi-stone? What kind of stone is that?"
"A concentrated stone that nature made with its concentrated energy"
"Nature made that stone?"
"Yes, but it's only made from a certain harvest point where nature energy gathers, it's complicated to explain"
Mary Ann the head maid spoke, she has a lot of knowledge about Magi-Stones.
"Magi-Stone are for one-time use only, the stone that we used is a laval stone that heats water, but the stones are ONLY used for royalty, us servants can use it for emergency purposes ONLY"
"Do you have any more magi-stone on you? Can I see it?" I ask her
One of the younger maids opened a belt pouch from her waist, bringing out a stone that had cracks on it with magma flowing inside.
"Is it hot?"
"Please bring your hand forward, princess"
She places the stone on my hand,
"Wow, this feels warm"
"That is what a magi-stone is"
"This is pretty convenient to use then"
"Yes it is"
"But if it's one-time use only, how can you use its full potential?"
"Well, it can heat food by just placing a bunch of stones below a stove"
It's just like an electric stove then, but the stone is a substitute instead of electricity,
"Or it can cool food so that it does not spoil easily"
"The basket that brother gave me!"
The maids stopped to look at me surprised at how I exclaimed, I gave an awkward laugh at them.
"Yes, that basket has frost stone on the lid of it, that is why the inside is cool"
"You brought it in?" Mary Ann nods
After bathing, they helped me out of the bathtub, drying me with a soft towel, after drying me, they helped me put on a bathrobe, then we exit the bathroom.
"Please sit down princess"
Elinna tells me, she had a brush on hand. I sat down on the chair, and she begins to brush my hair, the other maids applied lotion on my arms and legs, they even scrubbed the heel of my feet which tickled me.
"Okay, okay!" I said in between my laughs "s-stop with the scrubbing"
"As you wish princess"
After a few minutes of drying my hair, combing it, applying lotion on my skin as well as scrub my heel, in which it wasn't really necessary, they finally helped me dress-up.
The dress is a white, low shoulder that exposes the neckline, at the waist down the dress is in a balloon shape, it was also heavy, what the hell? I feel metal in the skirt? Unlike the dresses I recently wore that is just soft and plain.
"This is heavy"
"The design is purposely made like that, princess"
"I don't like this design that's for sure"
I complained to them, all of them looked at each other troubled, I shake my head ordering for them to stop dressing me.
"Please just dress me with the plain clothes I once wore, I don't like this heavy dress"
"But-"
"Sorry, but I won't accept your reasons, Elinna"
"Princess?"
"Take out one of the dresses that my brother bought for me, I'll wear those instead of this sorry excuse for a dress"
"Please wait"
Elinna followed what I said, she presents to me a light grey off-shoulder Boho Maxi dress, this looks more comfortable than what the maids want me to wear. No way.
"Princess, a dress like that is-"
"A dress like this is comfortable to wear, and I can run freely if there is an emergency"
"Princess?"
"I'll wear this."
Elinna help me wear it, the maids helped her too, and I wore what I wanted.
"Why are you opposed to this dress anyway?"
"Dresses like this are for commoners"
"Ha!" I scoffed "they have the luxury of wearing my type of clothes, comfortable ones"
"Princess the etiquette is-"
Fuck the etiquette, dresses like that are an inconvenience rather than for fashion, that reminds me.
"Elinna, you said you're going to make me a dress right?"
"Yes! I did!"
"Make a dress for me, that's comfortable, easy to wear, the red balloon gown, that's backless, I like that"
"I need a seamstress to assist me"
"I'll ask Uncle"
They braided my hair and applied makeup on me, they then escorted me out of the room and into the Dining Hall.
-Palace: Dining Hall-
Uncle sat at the long table at the front and centre, he beckoned me to sit beside him, Elinna sat next to me, and we ate breakfast.
"You look beautiful my niece"
"T-Thanks" I cringed a little
"Eat to your heart's content"
"Uncle I need a favour, I want Elinna to make a dress for me, but she needs assistance, can we hire a seamstress for her?"
"No need, we have one here already"
"Whoa!"
"You just need to meet them Countess Elinna"
"Thank you, your majesty"
"When you finish, walk around the rose garden behind the castle to burn the food that you ate"
But I just want to lounge around the room I'm staying,
"Good Exercise is a must"
Is he implying that I need the exercise?
"Now eat my dear"
I shrugged the thought, and continued eating breakfast with the two, when breakfast is over, the Emperor stood up.
"Escort my niece to the rose garden behind the palace"
"Yes, your majesty"
"Enjoy the scenery, my dear"
"Thank you"
"May the Blessings of the Sun shine upon your majesty, Emperor Cailum" he nods and walks away,
"Let's see the rose garden princess"
"I don't want to walk around, but if Uncle says so…"
-Palace Rose Garden: Entrance-
"Going here is already tiring! My feet hurt"
I forgot that I was wearing heels, it's already killing me, we were just at the front entrance of the rose garden, but I became tired already, it was no joke, just walking here.
"Damn, I'm out of shape, being a couch potato in my world is taking a toll on me"
"We will wait here while you venture inside," Mary Ann says
"You're kidding right?"
"No, your highness, only royalty can venture inside the Rose Garden"
"I'm going go get lost, my sense of direction is horrible"
"It will be fine" Mary Ann reassured me
Four maids are accompanying me, along with the Head Maid, plus Elinna, my lady-in-waiting, and they can't come inside with me.
"What if I get into trouble?"
"You will not, princess, now please enter already"
"Just come too"
"Princess, there is a protective barrier surrounding the rose garden because of an awful incident from a long time ago, that is why royalties are the only one who are allowed to enter"
"I don't believe you"
Marry Ann places a hand forward, sparks flew, and she flinched I now believe her,
"Are you okay?" I asked concerned she did that to prove her point.
"Yes"
"Okay fine, I'll go inside, but what happens if I get lost?"
"Ask the roses for direction, if it becomes purple you are in the right direction if it becomes pink then you are heading in the wrong direction"
"If it stays Red?"
"You are still in the right direction"
"Okay"
"Be careful princess"
"That did not help my nerves Elinna"
"Apologise, princess"
-Rosé Garden-
"This" I stood still "This is why I don't trust myself, I shouldn't have agreed with this"
The flowers aren't responding when I ask them for directions, it stayed red, Marry-Ann told me that it would stay red if I'm headed to the right direction, but why am I looking at a-
"Dead End"
Turning around with a sigh, I navigate through the rose garden, this isn't a garden this is a damn maze.
"Why does this keep happening to me?"
When I said those words, I froze when I heard a buzzing noise.
"What the hell was that?"
I was at a cross intersection of the garden. I look around but there's wasn't anything that's producing the buzzing noise,
"What am I hearing then?"
I cross my arms irritated at the buzzing, it was louder than before,
"Is it white noise?" I cleaned my ears, but it didn't have any dirt inside.
That's when I notice a strong breeze above me, my mouth gaped when I saw a hornet the size of an eagle.
Holy,
"SHIT!"
I started running, the hornet chased after me and I screamed from the top of lungs.
"AHHHH!"
I ran like there was no tomorrow, the maids said that this place was safe, seeing as though anyone can't enter, I didn't know that a huge hornet is here, they didn't even say anything about it.
"HELP!"
I shouted, I don't know where I was, but I saw two figures ahead, I looked back, but it was a mistake since I didn't know where I was going.
I crashed at a table, falling face first,
"Are you okay?"
"Ow" I sobbed
"A Honey Hornet"
"Milady"
I felt a hand on my back,
"Check if she's okay Luke, it looks like the Honey Hornet is playing a prank on her"
"Then take care of the huge animal, your majesty"
"Right"
