Dauntice was healing slowly. However they were short on time, and they knew they needed to move quickly. Dauntice had not taken the news of Farren's capture well, he was silent at first, a low moan escaped his lips. Onicent was as well grieved for the lose of Airabella. Only Maiguh was untouched, though he worried too for his family.
When Dauntice discovered Sonnis was being held in the castle he insisted on speaking with her. She was seated with a few Enderman surrounding her when he found her.
Dauntice told her he did not blame her, they had never been all that fair to her. Dauntice told her he should have tried to better protect her, he was sorry for what had happened. He also told her about Farren, she took with news with shock and grief. All the remaining anger drained out of her, she was left raw.
She insisted on doing something, she begged to be allowed, but was refused. It was for her own safety Dauntice reasoned, though when he told her that she snapped that he had yet to learn completely.
Onicent was unwilling to let her go as well.
Maiguh explained to them what they needed to do. Dauntice wished to storm directly to the dragon and take Farren back, but he was still physically weak and was talked out of it.
"You'll be no help in your state to her," Maiguh told him gently as he could. "The best thing you can do to help is what I have purposed."
Onicent was slightly suspicious, but that suspicion did not last long. He himself was worn down, Maiguh presented a reasonable plan, and Onicent could not see any reason it would overthrow him.
They set themselves in motion carefully. Sonnis had been gracious enough to part with the information of monsters being able to spy on them. They would need a diversion.
Naturally Dio provided with his brilliant potions. He created a very special one for the three of them to take.
When they set off they did not set off together.
Maiguh intended to send his daughters and Elsbeth to safety in the End. He took them to the End portal.
None wanted to go without him, they all complained that they would be of help to him. But he insisted what had to be done would be done by only him and his brothers. With intense disappointment they entered the End. Maiguh himself drank the potion in a gulp and set off, careful to keep his supply close at hand. He knew Onicent and Dauntice would do the same.
They would meet at the place with the grass blocks, their beginning would be the end.
