Onicent trudged toward the entrance to the castle. He felt so much anger toward everything. How dare his leadership be questioned by his own wife. He had punished Airabella, he would deal with her later.
When he reached the door two small figures were waiting for him. Enisia had a grim look on her face, and Rissa stood beside her, a small child now. When Onicent reached them Enisia opened her mouth to speak, but Rissa cut across her.
"Daddy," she said in a surprisingly sweet voice, she clasped her hands together leaning forward on her tippy toes, "what have you done to Mommy?"
It was more of an accusation then Onicent liked. Enisia put an arm around Rissa protectively.
With the most neutral tone he could muster Onicent said, "go off to your rooms, both of you."
Onicent walked out of the castle.
Rissa and Enisia were left standing there.
"You don't suppose something has happened to her." Enisia whispered to Rissa. Her eyes darted around the area nervously.
"I'll go check the back pond," Rissa said cheerfully. Enisia frowned at her sister.
Onicent continued to walk in the woods, he wasn't sure where he was going precisely, he found himself in the place where he first met Vya. He bent over the flowers. That was when he saw something. A woman who looked quite a lot like Vya.
"Vya..?" Onicent said.
The woman shook her head mutely.
"Where is Vya."
The nyphm let off a yelp, "I am Bluett, leave this place."
That was the wrong thing to say to Onicent. He was tired of being told what to do.
"Where is Vya! Tell me!"
Bluett started to run away from Onicent. Onicent was fast but Bluett being a nyphm was more agile then he was. Sometime he would lose her for a moment, but he always found her again.
He chased and chased her until they were in a clearing. Bluett sprinted through the grass and into a golden field, and then she disappeared. As Onicent approached a group of nyphms came out of the field. They surrounded him forcing him to stop.
"Let me by," he demanded.
"Not until our lady Alora says you may." They answered together.
Alora came walking toward them, a stiff expression on her face. Onicent could tell she was not pleased to see him.
"Alora," he said, trying for friendly. Though he was sure he sounded more scary then kind.
"Onicent," she sounded curt, "what brings you here?"
"I am trying to speak to a nyphm that ran into your fields."
"A nyphm?" Alora raised her eyebrows. "I saw none other then my own maidens." She beckoned to the semi circle. "I will tell you if such a nyphm came through here."
Onicent shifted feeling impatient. "I saw her myself."
"Then you must be mistaken, there was no one when I came here. Are you quite sure?"
Onicent began to shake with rage. "Yes, I am quite sure."
"You may not pass though here," Alora said.
"I am god of land I may go where I like!" Onicent raged back.
"The nyphm you are looking for," one of Alora's nyphms said. "What is her name?"
"Bluett," Onicent said.
They murmured amongst themselves.
"And what did you wish to know."
"The whereabouts of Vya."
"Bluett is the sister of Vya, as am I." One of the smaller nyphms said. Onicent focused on her. "My sister Vya perished some time ago. We know not how or why."
Alora had her arms crossed. "Leave now." She said, "you have your information, Bluett is under my protection seeing she is kin to one of my own." Alora looked nervous now. She seemed to glance back toward the house.
Onicent wanted to counter, but he felt a pang of grief at the death of Vya. He turned around and headed from Alora's fields. Though he had a creeping suspicion that Alora was hiding something.
