Chapitre 444: 19

A few more hours of patience, and the three males returned with food. My core was nearly recovered. I should be able to open a portal by the time I finished my meal. Then I'd be able to move freely again. I took the smallest of their kills.

Forcing down as much as my stomach was willing to take. Tossing the rest of it back at the four wyverns. The males didn't appear to be hungry, but Vermillion's appetite had spiked. She devoured every once of leftover meat.

*"I will give you a new name now Weak," I looked at the first of the males, "I will give you the same gift I gave Vermillion as well. After that it will be Vermillion's job to bless you. So you'd better pay attention Vermillion."

Weak straightened, and waited for his blessing. I regrew my missing limb before their very eyes. The new limb was a little sensitive, but it was strong enough to hold my weight, and that was all that mattered to me. None of the wyverns had seen anything like this. It appeared to scare them a little.

I walked toward him, and leaned my head his direction. He leaned in my direction. Lowering his gaze so he was facing the floor. I rested my forehead against his own. Letting my warm brown right eye rest on Vermillion.

"Pay attention Vermillion," I started letting my mana flow, "I'll only show you this one more time."

Her eyes were both focused on me. I pumped mana into him. I could tell he wouldn't be able to take as much mana as Vermillion had. His scales began to take on a new shine. Turning flame red.

His wounds healed, and his scars faded. He was evolving. He was becoming a young alpha male. I wondered just how strong the two of them would get. I used about a quarter of my mana to complete his evolution.

I still had enough to create a portal to the lizardmen's planet. I stepped back to observe the changes to Weak's body. The flame red color wasn't the only obvious change. He'd also grown a second set of horns. The spines down his back were nearly double the size they'd been before.

The tip of his tail was covered in about a dozen parallel spikes. His talons were longer, and had a more obvious sharpness to them. He had become a beast meant for fighting.

"Your new name will be Shrapnel," I thought this was more suitable to him then weak.

"Shrapnel?" he cocked his head.

Rolling the word off the tip of his tongue.

"What does it mean?" He asked.

"Small bits that are thrown away from a powerful force that embed themselves in all that surrounds them," I smirked, "Doing great damage despite their small size."

He snorted flames. He seemed to like this name. Vermillion seemed to agree. The name suited the small male. I wasn't sure he would remain small enough for the name to continue to suit him.

"I'll open a portal big enough for each of you to cross one at a time," I walked outside of the small cavern, "But this portal will be to another planet, and incredibly difficult for me to maintain. You will need to cross through quickly."

Vermillion nodded. She wasn't arguing. She snorted smoke at the three males getting them all in line.

{Did you inform Calen?} I asked Savannah since she had the phone.

{Yes,} Savannah answered, {Do you want me to call him again, and let him know you're opening the portal now?}

{Yes,} I started gathering my mana.

Ethan stood leaning into the stone of the cave entrance. Jax was closer to the back. Further away from the wyverns. It had always been difficult to open portals to other worlds. I had to gather a large amount of mana before I could even attempt opening the portal.

The boom of the portal made the two smaller unnamed males flinch.

"Go now," I snapped as soon as the portal was stable, "I won't be able to maintain it forever."

Vermillion shooed to two unnamed males first. Following right after them. Letting Shrapnel follow at the end. The portal collapsed in on itself right after he passed through. I had barely any mana left.

I wouldn't be able to cast any more spells for a little while. I allowed both boys up on my back. It was time to go back to the front line. I jumped into the air. My senses couldn't quite handle my spatial awareness while I was moving.

My eyes narrowed as I tried to lower the amount of stimuli. I was taking in too much information. I was glad that I could fly with minimal thought. My wings hardly needed any instruction to do what was necessary to keep me in the air. Ethan was gently directing me when necessary.

I sensed the attack long before it reached me. I activated foresight, and regretted it immediately. The amount of feedback double instantly. I rolled to the side quickly. Dodging the attack with ease since I could perfectly predict its trajectory.

My mind felt as if it were splitting. Suddenly the mental overload eased. Ethan had taken some of the information onto himself. Easing my mental load so that I could process the information flooding my mind better. I knew this was too much for a human mind.

I needed to ease the mental load off Ethan's mind quickly. I deactivated the foresight ability. While it did strain my mind I could handle spatial awareness by itself. Ethan's nose had already began to bleed from the mental strain. He let me take back my full mental load quickly.

He wasn't able to handle even a fraction of what I could mentally speaking.

{Don't do that again,} I snarled mentally at him.

My roar crossed the distance between me, and the frontline in an instant. My wing beats accelerated as I veered upward. The next projectiles were able to follow the heat of my body, and veered upward to follow me. My body went cold as I allowed the cold of the water element around me to flow through me completely. The iron rods didn't appear to be tracking my head.
