Erik simply smiled as he also embraced his fiancee and placed his chin on top of her head.
"I know you do." (Erik)

Mayumi clenched her fist as she entered the arena for the second round; the passion to give her all could be recognized within her eyes!
"I can do this!" (Mayumi)
After spending some quality time with her fiancee, Mayumi felt refreshed and happy!
Erik had accompanied her all night, planning strategies and tactics that would help her outperform her opponents.
And she felt ready to tackle any obstacles that may come in the way of her victory.
She turned towards the [Organziers] who were about to give the green signal.
"Alright participants!" (Organizer)
"Ready? Aim... Fire!" (Organizer)
*bang!*
*crack!*
Just like in the preliminary round; Mayumi was totally dominating the round with the same spell she used before.
'I can do this! I will win!' (Mayumi)
During the round, Mayumi was surprised by the change in her casting; she was performing noticeably better than before.
'I guess, Erik's pep talk really did work!' (Mayumi)
'Good, now I just need to maintain my pace and I will win!' (Mayumi)
Mayumi really wanted to win, she wanted Erik to be proud of her and appreciate her hard work.
She then goes on to win the quarter-finals before the event was concluded for the day.

After the [Speed-Shooting], Erik, Suzune and Mayumi headed towards the watch box to meet up with the other students and spectate the 2nd-year [Pillar-Break].
As soon as the trio entered the room, a voice resounded throughout the box; attracting their attention to the source.
"You guys are late." (Mari)
Mari wore a jacket over her tight blue colored body-suit. After the end of [Pillar-Break], it will be her turn to compete in [Battle-Board].
"Apologies for not arriving on time, I got catch up analyzing the other participants of the [Speed-Shooting]." (Erik)
Erik apologized for being late since he knew that they had missed the [Cword Ball] event.
"It's all good... Though I must say, you spend so much time 'checking' out the other participants; Mayumi would be mad!" (Mari)
"Aren't I right, Mayumi!?" (Mari)
Mari knew better than letting go of an easy opportunity of pissing off Mayumi.
Most of the participants of the [Speed-Shooting] were girls; very attractive ones in this case.
"S-Shut up!" (Mayumi)
Mayumi was immediately agitated by what Mari was implying and told her to shut up and focus on the event rather than making jokes.
No matter how collected Mayumi tried to look, a blush couldn't help but creep up her neck while Erik and Suzune were laughing.
Fortunately for Mayumi, only Suzune, Erik and Mari were currently in the room; Katsuto was dealing with some family matters and thus wasn't present.
"H-How did t-the [Crowd Ball] go?" (Mayumi)
Hearing Mayumi's question, Mari couldn't help but ruefully sigh while shaking her head.
"We lost...miserably; both in the male-division and the female division." (Mari)
"Kirihara, one of the participants; he was unlucky enough to be matched against Third High's player, who is favored to win." (Mari)
"He was eliminated shortly after putting up a decent fight." (Mari)
"Whereas we stood no chance in the female-division." (Mari)
"Looks like you were correct, Erik." (Suzune)
Suzune looked towards Erik as she remembered the plan he proposed to [The Council]; while was ultimately shut down by Mayumi.
Mayumi had a conflicted expression on her face as she took a peek to look at Erik's face when was...calm.
"Hm...nevermind that what had happened in the past, we should focus on future rather than dwelling on the past." (Erik)
Erik decided that it would be for the better to simply forget out the discussion since Mayumi wasn't comfortable talking about it.
"I assume that it is time for [Pillar-Break] event?" (Erik)
Mari nodded her head, agreeing to Erik's statement and she stated in a proud tone.
"Yes, we are favored to win this event due to Kanon's clan magic!" (Mari)
She was really excited to see how well would her students would perform under pressure.
"Is that so?" (Mayumi)
Seeing Mari so excited, Mayumi had a curious expression on her face; Kanon didn't have much interaction with her due to the former training all the time.
Since her friend was excited about her student's performance, it was natural that Mayumi too will pay attention to Kanon.
But...Mayumi's curious expression soon turned into an evil smirk as she found Mari's defenses to be lacking!
"I rarely see you this happy, the only other time I see you like this is when you are with Naotsugu-san or Erik is throwing a party at his mansion." (Mayumi)
Ah! The classic comeback!
Mayumi, showing zero compassion towards her friend as she brutally takes her revenge!
"You!...Focus on the event you flat board!" (Mari)
"Hey, Mayumi isn't flat!" (Erik)
"..." (Mayumi)
Mayumi was struck speechless at the exchange of words between her two friends.
"Haha...sorry! I thought that I must point out the facts, you know?...For the sake of science!?" (Erik)
Even though Erik's expression seemed very compelling, Mari, Mayumi, and Suzune; three of them have already grown immune to his looks.
Suzune simply rolled her eyes.
"You are clearly stressed, Erik...take some rest ok?" (Suzune)
"Haha...sure!" (Erik)
"Alright! Jokes aside!" (Mayumi)
"Is she the one you are grooming to be the future [Chairwoman of Public Morals]?" (Mayumi)
"Yes." (Mari)
*knock*
There was a knock on the door, interrupting the conversation between the 3rd year students.
"Huh? Come in!" (Suzune)
The doorknob twisted up revealing a bunch of individuals; all of whom wore the [First-High School Uniform].
"Suzune-san, Erik-san, Mayumi-san, and Mari-san too!? Are you all also excited to watch Kanon-chan perform!?" (Erika)
The red-head stepped forward with her ever-present energy and started questioning her seniors.
Erik simply shook his head at Erika's behavior and turned to focus on the upgoing match.
Whereas Tatsuya, Miyuki, Shizuku, Erika, Leo, Mizuki, Mikihiko, and Isori also entered the room.
"Looks like the event is about to start!" (Mizuki)
"Thank god! We are on time!" (Leo)
Erik and the others observed Kanon's match in [Pillars Break] event.
Even though she had talent!
Kanon won her match rather recklessly with her family's special magic, [Mine Genesis], which creates vibrations that eventually break the pillars.
Her magic was really suited for such events but her relatively average refined skills in casting made the match look rather bland.
Not to mention that her opponent couldn't keep up with her to even prove to be a challenge.
"Kanon-san is performing good! We will win if she keeps up this pace!" (Isori)
"I must say that Isori-san and Kanon-chan, being engaged, have a lot of synergy just like Erik-Nii and Mayumi-san." (Erika)
"Ahem! We should focus on the match, everyone!" (Mayumi)
"Yeah, if you want to give examples then use Mari and Naotsugu; they make a great couple." (Erik)
"Hey! How can you through me under the bus like that man!?" (Mari)
*whistles innocently*
Kanon eventually wins first place in her competition.
