Julia barely manages to finish her first slice of cake before falling asleep all of a sudden. She leans her head on my shoulder and doesn't move anymore.
Her stable breathing tells me how deeply she fell into the world of dreams. I hope there aren't any nightmares this time.
She's so defenceless, with her lips half opened and her weight on me.
I let my hand slip down to reach her waist. She doesn't react, but it's no surprise given her state.
She said the vampire who bit her spit out the blood before fleeing, but there might be traces on her. The shower got rid of most of them, but maybe the vampire left some saliva on the wound.
In that case, I might be able to sense something.
I lift Julia's chin with one hand and sniff her neck, looking for traces of other vampires.
Unfortunately, there is nothing. I can't even locate the place of the wound... And Julia won't tell me on her own who's responsible for the attack.
