Sonic felt something below him. Hard, solid wood. He could hardly keep his eyes open as he struggled to get up. It felt like he had taken quite the fall. "Ugh... one too many Chao Colas, huh?" He mumbled. What was he doing here, anyways? It felt like he had been asleep for hours. Then, it came flooding back to him. The mansion, the storm, and Knuckles disappearing. It felt like a light bulb lit up over his head as he remembered. Which... wasn't too far from the truth. As he looked above, he found that the light bulb that had burst before was perfectly fine. It was lit up as well. It was much more powerful than before. As Sonic looked at the window, he found it was actually filled in with unharmed glass. Rays of sunlight filtered in through the red curtains.
Any sign of decay of the house was gone. It was in pristine condition. This room seemed under construction. All the paintings and photos from before were gone, leaving only empty frames decorated with beautiful chiseled patterns. Canvases were neatly lined against the wall on top of the counters. The sink was leaking water, making a drip, drip, drip sound.
"How long was I out?" Sonic pondered, crossing his arms. "Tails should be here by now. I should go check for him by the entrance."
