I expel out a breath I didn't know I had been holding in, so hard that I feel slightly dizzy afterwards.

"He told us to go but we hung around, ready to help if he needed it." Ciaran says grandly.

"I don't think we could have been able to offer any help." Nadia counters honestly.

"No kidding." Selena mutters. "I'm pretty sure he knew you were still around but probably didn't see you important enough to make the effort to murder you." She says in her characteristic blunt way that kinda hurts.

All the color drains from Ciaran and Nadia's faces, horror clearly printed on their expressive faces.

"Well, did he tell you anything about where he's going?" I ask impatiently, done with the small talk. 

It had been six fucking days, there was no guarantee that Ai hadn't found him again.
