Chapitre 10: If I Could Fly......
Later that night I laid in complete darkness in my bed. Sleep wouldn't come to me because my mind was a thousand places at the same time. Which wasn't uncommon the night before a big tour, but there was something or someone on my mind that stood out above everything and everyone else. I sighed and grabbed my phone. "Are you up?" I pushed send and stared at the screen for a second. I saw the three dots and couldn't help the smile that took over my face.
"Yeah. Couldn't sleep either?" Jazz replied.
"No, my mind won't let me...do you mind if....can I come over?" I quickly locked the screen out of fear of what her answer might be.
I heard the ding and quickly looked. "There's a key behind the welcome sign on the door. I'll be waiting."
I smiled and hopped out of bed thanking God I'd already showered. Once I threw on some black joggers, black hoodie, and slipped on my Nike slides i grabbed my keys and headed out. I took 15 minutes to make it to her apartment. I could feel my heart rate elevate at the excitement of seeing her. I lifted the sign and grabbed the key to let myself in. I walked in and it was dark except for the light coming from the patio door which was open. I could hear faint music.
"Princess?" I called out to her.
"Out here." Her voice rang out from outside and i walked toward the patio door. Once i reached it i could see the light i saw were the candles she lit and her fire pit . She was sat with her eyes closed in her chair that was by the fire lightly fingering the strings of her fender. It was easily one of the most beautiful sights I'd ever seen. I walked over and sat in the chair that faced her.
"Hi bear." She smiled with her eyes still closed.
"Hi princess."
"What's on your mind?" She asked.
"A lot....but mostly you." I answered truthfully.
Her eyes opened and immediately found mine. I held her gaze to let her see whatever she was searching for in them, letting her see the seriousness. She opened her mouth but closed it quickly as if searching for the right words to say. She sat up a little in her seat.
"I'm scared.....you've become such an important person in my life. I wasn't expecting it. This.....bond we have. For the past 2 weeks you've been apart of my every day life and these feelings i have.....I'm scared as hell that when you leave that'll be the end of whatever this is." She told me and knocked the wind out of me.
I sat up to get closer to her. I lifted my hand to push the hair in her face behind her ear before bringing my hand down to cup her cheek to make her look at me.
"You're not alone in what you feel. From the moment i saw you..I was a goner. I knew i wanted to be apart of your life. I wanted to you to be apart of my life. You're so important to me Princess. You're everything. These feelings we have. They're real and no matter where I am, I'll do everything in my power to make sure what we have never ends."
Her eyes closed again and she let out a content sigh and she leaned her face into my hand. My thumb stroked her cheek.
"Look at me baby." Her brown eyes found mine. "Do you trust me?"
"Yes." She answered without hesitation.
I smiled at her. "Then know that I've got you. I've got us. I refuse to let another day pass without you being mine. Be mine.....please." I leaned in closer.
"I was yours the very day I met you." She whispered and leaned in to meet me. Her lips met mine and i know how cliche it sounds but time literally fucking stopped. We kissed for a while before she pulled away and stopped my heart with her smile.
"My gorgeous girl." I said pecking her lips again.
She sat back a little and closed her eyes again still smiling. She begin to play her guitar and I cheesed so fucking hard immediately recognizing the song. I took the opportunity to pull out my phone while her eyes were closed and pressed record.
