"Kaden!" Fang exclaimed just as the closet door broke from its hinges.
He fell on his face.
"Fang!!" Kaden exclaimed in shock. "What the hell are you doing there?"
"I… I am checking the door quality. Ah look at this, it broke from just my weight," Fang said while sweating.
"Hmm. That sounds.. Totally believable," Deric whispered.
Fang chuckled awkwardly. He just wanted to peek, but he didn't expect the door to collapse in his weight.
He lifting the broken door, he placed it in position and banged on the hinges. "See, it's totally fixable," he whispered. The door creaked and groaned. The next second the it shattered completely.
"Che, I knew it. It was bad quality," he said with a guilty smile.
Deric took a deep breath and whispered, "That is made from precious wood."
"Oh, I… I didn't expect it to break." He mumbled. He darted towards Deric and whispered in his ear, "is it really costly,"
"It is priceless in Lafta,"
"Shit, I will fix it somehow,"
The guards outside knocked on the door. "Captain, is everything okay there? What is that loud sound?" they shouted through the door.
"Shit," Kaden whispered.
He dragged Fang to the nearby bathroom and shut him inside. Now as his part, Deric rushed over to the broken door and kneeled next to it pitifully.
The guards rushed into the room to see such a scene.
Kaden with his enraged expression and the hostage prince kneeling next to the broken wardrobe.
They all wiped their sweat. 'Our captain is s fierce, he started torturing the hostage prince so soon,' they thought with a gulp.
"Captain, we…. We should not interrogate the prince without our King's approval," one of the guards said.
"Hmm, I know, but this puny guy should know his place," Kaden said with a glare.
The nearby guards trembled. 'He is enraged ah. What did that stupid prince do?' they wondered.
Usually their captain rarely got angry and spoke only one or two words to them.
"Captain, we should get too our post," they said and retreated. 'Our captain can deal with him, let's not intrude,' they thought with a nod.
After they all left the room, Kaden closed the door with a bang. Only after the door was firmly shut did her, let out a long breath.
Deric whistled from the ground. "Wow, Kaden, in just six years your acting skills have improved,"
"My acting is always mediocre," he whispered.
"I know I know you don't know how to handle complements," Deric said and chuckled.
"It's... Not like that," he said with a wooden expression.
A small head peeked out of the bathroom.
"Umm, is the coast clear?" Fang whispered.
"Yes, you have to be careful, okay. It's not Lafta, if you get caught you will get killed," Deric said with a serious expression.
"But... But I…" Fang said, but he was dragged out of the bathroom into a bone-crushing hug.
Kaden hugged him tightly. "I… I missed you so much," he whispered.
Fang was flustered. He didn't know where to put his hands and what to do in that situation. With his hands hovering in air, he stood stiffly in the hug.
Hiding his heated face deep in his chest, he inhaled his intoxicating scent. 'I missed you too,' he said in his heart. but he did not have the courage to say it out loud.
Deric watched the love birds unit after six years. He knew that Fang missed him so much, but at that moment he was standing stiff like a frozen fish. 'Stupid guy, he still does not know how to express himself,' he thought with a sigh.
As the only single guy in the room, Deric felt very awkward.
He laid down on the ground. Gazing up at the decorated ceiling, he sighed. 'When will I find my one true love?' he thought.
He suddenly remembered the kid he met that day morning and his voice that gently whispered his name.
Thinking about him, his lips rose up in an unconscious grin.
That morning when he heard it, his mild voice sent a shiver down his spine.
With hair still hanging down his face, Deric tried to find him in the crowd and only found a veiled kid jumping up and down. His white veil hid his face completely, so he was not able to identify him.
'I wish I could find him soon. Maybe… maybe he might be the one for me,' he thought.
Meanwhile fang struggled a little in his embrace. "Ahem, Deric is here, can you let go?"
Kaden shook hi s head firmly and hugged him closer. "No," he whispered.
"No? Hey, he is your prince how could you disrespect him so," fang roared in a whisper.
Kaden gazed at Deric and said, "Do you mind if I hug your Cousin?"
"I don't mind, please do whatever," the hostage prince said.
"Hey, how could you easily sell out your dear cousin like that?" Fang whisper shouted.
Deric shrugged and walked back to his bed.
It was the fact; this silly guy is his cousin from his mother's side. They both grew up together, so they were more friends than cousins.
"You overgrown bread stick, let go, I have something important to say," Fang said and struggled in his embrace.
"What is it?" Deric said from the bed.
Fang pushed away from the hug and plopped on the bed. "Look at this. A woman was sending these off with many falcons," he said and handed over the small scroll.
The hostage prince read its contents and Shot up in shock. "It's bad. Did you see who sent this?" he questioned.
"No, but I saw a shadow of a woman. She is on the third level second window," Fang said.
"Good, I have to inform the King," Deric said and rushed out.
Kaden pulled him back. "Why?"
The prince sighed and held his friend's shoulder. "You worked here for six years, so tell me, is the king trustworthy?"
Gazing deeply into his eyes, "he is," Kaden whispered.
"Then why should we not. I plan to make Miriafa my ally, and this might help gain his trust," Deric said with a grin.
