Fuck my life.
I looked at the guy at the other end of the barrel and smiled sheepishly. He glared at me, unimpressed before shoving the gun out of his way, I didn't take time to grab his outstretched arm and twisted it. In his moment of surprise weakness, I managed to bend the arm back, a sickening crack exploding from the shoulder.
His friends didn't take time in coming after me and soon we were all thrown into a full-blown battle. As I fought I would make sure to shoot brief glances at Hibi and luckily she seemed to be holding her own well.
Which was really impressive considering we were being taken on five to one.
And these people weren't idiots either, they came at us all at once. I'd blocked a sword from splitting my face in half and the other one didn't hesitate to bring his numchucks down, straight into my shoulder.
It felt as if my entire nervous system had a reboot.
My right arm from there deemed useless as I could barely feel my fingertips anymore. But I think we were even considering I broke his leg and threw a dagger into the middle of his chest.
I couldn't help but feel exhilarated as I ploughed through the bunch, picking them off and leaving them groaning and screaming in pain. One by one. The way their faces would twist up in pain gave me a sick and twisted pleasure.
Hibi had long since finished with her batch and was now walking up to the leader of this whole operation, to get answers I presumed. She didn't even spare me a glance as she walked past me struggling with some guy digging his machete into my shoulder.
What a helpful partner indeed.
Luckily for me, I finished off by ploughing the machete through the guys under area. Unluckily for him. So I joined the couples chat and slightly leaned on Hibi, ignoring her sigh of annoyance as I plopped my chin on her head.
"Ah so this is your new partner is crime huh?" He eyed me up and down and grimaced "I liked the redhead better she had nice tits" Well I apologise for not being a woman then.
"You didn't seem to think so when her fist was up your nose" I chuckled.
They went on and on into depth into childish banter that was really unnecessary. But it proved my thought to be true, they were acquainted, so much so that I'd even call them friends but I saw the dark glint in the man's eye when he spoke to her.
The detest on his face was crystal clear.
But my entire body was starting to weaken and my head felt lighter than normal due to extreme blood loss. "Okay girls, you're both pretty. Can we go now?" I felt a pinch at my side and didn't have to look down to know it was Hibi. My eyes were on the man in front of us whose double chin was starting to piss me off, more and more and time passed.
"Hibi tell your boy toy to shut up"
"Cas shut up"
It was my turn to pinch her side. "I hope you've guys have had a nice break from all of that, I am very sorry I couldn't hand you some orange slices to regain your energy" His feigned and mocking remorseful voice pissed me off, I glared at the leprechaun.
"Unfortunately for you Hibi, the bounty underneath your ass is much prettier than you are, so I will be retrieving your heard for Adaora and your friend's for her as well" He turned to me "Lucky for you blondie, you're wanted alive" He scanned me over once more "For some funny reason".
He clapped dramatically "Onto the kidnapping"
The trees rustled above us and Hibi was quick to act as she shoved me away from her. Six men descended from the leaves and nearly trampled her but she rolled away in the nick of time, dust and leaves collecting in her hair.
The six men didn't even glance at me as they pulled out metal rods that glowed blue at the end. One pressed a button on him and it immediately burst into sparks of blue and white, the electricity creating a guttural buzzing sound.
Shit.
Hibi didn't even hesitate as she turned around and dashed into the forest, the leather-clad monkeys close behind her. I turned to the mastermind of it all. "And then there were two".
He tilted his head and leaned cockily on his heels as he brought out one finger. "You're gonna wish princess over there stayed" Dangling from his fingers were silver handcuffs, that looked way too small for my wrists.
"You'll have to get them on my first" I growled.
He merely smirked at me "Wouldn't be too much of a problem I've had practise" I ignored his innuendo and lunged for him.
He swiftly sidestepped me and tripped me. Before I could fall he grabbed my arm and twisted it behind my back, a large click reached my ears and metal clasped tightly over my wrists. I immediately started fighting my way through the handcuffs.
"Stop squirming" I didn't even listen to his warning "If you comply I'll tell them not to kill Hibiscus" I took a second to register his words before weighing my options. I thought back to the flicker of dangerous electricity that I saw coursing through those weapons and I sighed.
"Good choice"
He yanked me to my feet and dragged my feet. I kept stubborn as I discreetly dug my feet into the ground, keeping my ears open for screams or any signs that Hibi was hurt. "Don't drag it along, I won't be responsible for her blood if we don't make it there in time. You will" I was more compliant after that comment.
I was shoved into the front seat of his car and before I could start plotting my escape the sound of chains came to my ear. I looked down to see him chaining me to the car. "Can't have you escaping can we your highness?" My blood froze.
"Stupid of you to think I don't research my bounty before collecting it" He smirked at me revealing his yellow uneven teeth "Long way from home aren't you Heart?" I gritted my teeth and he laughed at me.
He slammed his door shut and started the ignition "Let's hope there are still some parts left of her huh?" I kept my face blank and my eyes straight "Don't be so sad now hmm? After all, I'm just helping you to reunite with mummy."
His head would fit nicely in my mother's collection.
He didn't seem to be in a hurry as he kept a steady pace we were moving but not as fast as I'd have liked to considering Hibi's life was on the line and she was still nowhere inside.
Hogan on the other hand seemed unbothered as he whistled a little tune underneath his breath, tapping the steering wheel. "Can you hurry up" I snapped, he chuckled.
"Don't worry your majesty, they couldn't have gotten too far" He smiled condescendingly "And besides you'd prefer a bitch like Hibi dead than alive" That's it.
"Fuck this" I twisted my body and used one leg to kick the steering wheel.
"Hey!" He lost grip of the wheel as my other leg went to his cheek, slamming his jaw into the window. The car spun and soon collided with a tree. The force of the stop sent me flying as the only thing keeping me attacked to my feet were me and the chains attached to wrists.
My body went through the windscreen with a crash and ripped the top deck of where the chains were attached to and took everything attached to it out the window with me. My back crashed into the tree we hit and I groaned.
"Fuck me" I muttered as I rolled off the hood of the car and stretch my back. I walked around it, my chains dragging my chains with me as I opened the driver's door. Hogan was unconscious, probably from his head cracking open on the window, so he practically fell out of the sit. I nudged the rest of him out and slid into the seat.
"I can't believe I almost got kidnapped by a guy in a ponytail".
