Chapitre 630: Covering Bases

After the incident, the evening progressed uneventfully. A toast was made to the new King's coming coronation, as well as a few to his health, and a prosperous rule. Marco soaked up the spotlight like a starving houseplant, and smiled more than anyone had ever seen him.

 The ladies of the court were abuzz with gossip about the King's new disposition, and his new appeal. Since Karena was rumored to be on her deathbed, the women at court were practically throwing themselves at Marco. Even a few of her supposed friends were flaunting themselves in front of the gathered royalty.

 The five kings all sat at the head table, with Marco in the center where Magnus used to sit. They all enjoyed the the court ladies vying for their attention as they sipped on their drinks, and ate heartily. Marco wondered if Victor would become upset, but he actually encouraged him to pick an 'evening lover'.
