Oh girl, if you only had seen the trouble I went by trying to put that thing below your stepmother's bed... Meow!" She cackled, remembering the sleepwalking woman.

Vanilla giggled and softly rolled her eyes. "She could have caught you. I don't know about how in the bloody heaven that worked for you, but I'm immensely glad it did. You don't know in how big of trouble we would be in if she caught you sneaking into her room."

Cookie bobbed her shoulders. "Well, you know what they say. There are no rewards without risks."

"But what was the reward?" Rowie asked, tilting his head.

"Oh, Rowie. Seeing Mrs. Carol confusing me with the cat from her childhood is a prize in itself. If only guys had only been there to see it!" She chuckled once more between her teeth.
