Chapitre 12: Little Things
Jonathan grabbed the door knob ready to pull it open and punch whoever it is behind the door. He had a brief thought to grab his fighting staff. He stuck his hand out and said,'' Doom stick!" The metal rod shot at him with a force unlike before. This time he was ready and stuck his other hand out catching Doom stick without flaw. Ready for a fight Jonathan wanked the door open to see Mary and Judas. Mary's eyes went wide and Judas's jaw dropped to the ground. " umm is this a bad time?" Mary barely whispered out. Jonathan started to laugh waving the two in. "Come on in. Sorry i was just trying out this new cosplay thing and thought you were gonna be some sort of door to door salesmen. That is why I tried to scare you with your reaction. I can say it'll work." Judas ran inside checking the armor out with a weird look. He knocked on the plates making a metal echo. " Jonathan that does not look like some sort of cheap cosplay outfit."Jonathan not wanting to answer questions asked her without answering." Um if i may ask why are you here? I do appreciate the drop in. Just why thought?" Mary nodded towards Judas," I offered him a deal to visit you if he could have a great week of school and he did but I forgot to tell you. Sorry." She gave him a looked that suggested she had a different reason. "Okay then I had an idea. Judas, do you want to go read some of my chapters i never put in my book. i liked them a lot but never got to adding them. I'll only show you ones on books you've read.
After getting Judas settled he left him in the room making Judas happy with the fact that an adult trusted him to stay in his room alone! Jonathan went back into his room changing out of his suit. Going back into the living room "Well he should be settled for a while why don't you tell." Mary cut him off and gave him a big hug." There was a strange man wearing nothing but white he was following us for almost the whole time we walked home. I didn't know what to do so I just came here making up a lie to Judas to make it so he felt safe." Jonathan was torn into two sides one wanted to tell her how stupid she was they were after him and now them! But he ultimately knew he would console her. Which is exactly what he did rubbing her back and whispering," I am here for you. I'll always have your back if you ever feel the need to do this again you're always welcome." She sat in his arms for a while crying into his shoulder. Jonathan after a while whispered so quietly he hoped she didn't hear him. " I wish i could be as strong as you. That will make fighting them easier."mommy i was reading this cool section that the magic man should have added when i saw a man wearing all white looking in through the window!"
Jonathan ran towards his door to leave the apartment locking the bolt and chain. He directed his guests into the kitchen making them hide behind the counter." I'll go check it out. Stay down please I'll let you know when it's safe." Rushing into the room he activates his suit and opens the door to see the man in white standing right outside his window. The two looked shocked to see each other. Jonathans resolve broke he wasn't a hero or skilled in fighting also what would happen if they fought and ruined his work. The man dropped giving Jonathan relief he wasn't gonna have to fight. That made him happy. While searching the window and looking down there was no way he could have been standing there. While standing in the room putting his blinds down to cover the window he calls Aiden," Aiden come in. I have a few questions." There was no reply Jonathan ran his hands over his helmet trying to run his fingers through his hair. He waited for a little bit and eventually gave up. He went back into the kitchen after clearing his house and the helmet
disappeared before he went to the kitchen. Jonathan had forgotten to take the suit off.
"Hey guys it's all okay. '' Mary sighed in relief. Judas looked sad with tears in his eyes and he said," Magic man you saw the man in the window didn't you? My mom doesn't think he was real or was standing by the window. She kept telling me that no one can stand by the window when we are on the second floor." This question tore Jonathan into two. He didn't want to lie to Judas, but he also didn't want to tell Mary that Judas was right. Jonathan sighed really loudly," Mary i don't want to sound crazy but Judas was not lying. I really wanted to say he was but the truth should be valued more than lies." Mary looked annoyed at how this conversation turned into believing Judas's lie. She looked at Jonathan," Fine. I just want to know what is with that suit? You said it was a cosplay but you put it on to defend your home from the floating man in a white suit." She said that with a bitter tone. Making Jonathan flinch and question if he chose the wrong answer. How could he? He had chosen the truth over a lie but that seemed to have backfired. " Ahh okay i guess i will just come out with the truth. I'm trying out combat styles one of them requires a suit like this one. I had this custom made so I could look really cool and impress the ladies. Is it working?" Mary rolled her eyes. " ouch okay i will take that as a no." Jonathan said with another whince.
"Mommy can we stay here? I don't want to leave. Scary white suit guy maybe outside and i feel safe here." Judas said while tugging on her pants cuff and giving her his big sad eyes. Jonathan said rather fast," Yeah you two can stay here tonight i do not have a problem with that at all." He realized after he said that he might have jumped on that answer a little fast. Mary shot him a mad look saying," No judas we are going home." Judas started to cry but before Mary could do anything Jonathan slid off his chair and kneeled by Judas. He reached behind Judas grabbing into a portal he made pulling out two small walkie talkies. Jonathan made them look like they appeared behind his ears. Judas's eyes lit up with surprise, making an impressed face. Jonathan didn't even look at Mary to see her reaction. Jonathan said,'' Hey Judas don't worry about it you can have this and call me if anything happens I'll use my magical powers to be over in a snap." That made Judas smile and before The two could ask questions Jonathan continued. " Also Judas we need to figure out code names. I like Oztech what about you?" Judas huffed and said with attitude," you can't be Oztech, that is your online chat name. I think you can be called Black Dragon with your awesome suit. My name will be Furk. But my moms name will be Strick." Jonathan laughed while replying'' Okay so did you mean strict for your mothers code name?" Judas shook his head," Nope she maybe strict but no i like strick better." Before Jonathan could reply again Mary jumped into this conversation," Hold up Judas you want to be the name of the name of the seven eyed spider from one of Jonathan's books." " Yes mommy and you should get the next book Magic man released it last year!" Jonathan looked surprised to know that Mary read his books
Jonathan smiled," I didn't know you read my books. Do you like them?" Mary smiled," Well i read them to make sure they are child friendly enough for my boy so yes i do read them. I do want to say that the female roles don't really match what women would do. It's rather unrealistic. It doesn't make much sense why Sophine likes the superhero so much he only saved her once it's not right or normal. Jonathan frowned a little bit. " If you insist, I made the women like that to appeal more to my male readers. In my books women can be unrealistic." Judas yawns really loudly Mary got up apologizing for the rude interruption but the two left so Judas could go to bed. Jonathan hated himself for the fact that he jumped too fast on them staying the night. If it was his book he would've had her stay. He got himself ready for bed. He took a quick glance out the bedroom and saw the white suit standing across the street watching the two walk home. Jonathan wanted to save her but wouldn't do anything tonight she clearly didn't want rescuing. The man turned towards Jonathan and he had a big grin on and started walking towards Jonathan. Without breaking eye contact he just walked up to the window like he was on stairs. There was nothing under him though. Jonathan froze was he made? Did he have to fight this time for real. The white suit reached the window and just shattered it. He slid into the apartment. With a deep guttural voice he said," Good evening sir. I just have a few questions for you. Answer them truthfully and wisely.Then you might just live until tomorrow."
