Chapitre 63: I Felt Sick

Maya's POV

"Adonis, I would like you to meet Engineer Maya Alva, one of the best engineers in our firm. She was the top one during her board exam, Ms. Alva; I would like you to meet my good friend, Adonis Monleon." Ryan introduced me to the CEO, and he extended his hand to me. And I don't have a choice but to take his right hand, and he didn't even bother to look at Ryan since he is looking at me the entire time. 

He grips my hand longer than necessary, and I pulled it away from him. I am lying if I say I haven't felt the electricity that travels my entire spine the time his palm made contact with my skin, but I try to look unaffected with his presence, and I need to endure this moment because I need this job, and I have to prove my worth to my boss.

"I am pleased to meet you, Mr. Monleon, and I would appreciate it if you stop looking at my face like you know me," I said, and I can see the pain that registered on his face, and he released my hand.
