Chapitre 62: Chp 62:Trade
Layla POV:
We stood there only looking at each other with suspicion.
To break the silence I asked for permission. "Can I take some blood?" I spoke with some sass to prove my innocence.
Evan slowly ceased his glare and nodded. "Only for the cure." I nodded back with agreement.
I extracted some blood and walked out the room after placing a bandaid on the prick.
I could tell Evan wasn't completely happy about it, yet allowed it.
I rushed out and headed back to Robert's confinement.
Ren had previously allowed me entrance as I was their sister and I am working on the cure.
I entered only to see a smirk appear on his face.
"Oh? Can't find a cure?" He mocked.
I glared and showed him the needle containing Lucas's blood. "How?" I demanded.
He laughed dramatically. I was playing right into his hands but, I had to do it. This is the only way, and we don't have any more time.
He jolted his head back twice in a gesture for me to come closer.
I hesitated slightly but inched closer.
"This is what you wanted, correct?" I stated firmly, gaining a smirking nod.
"Now what is the only way you speak of?"
"Vampireism."
My eyes widened and I took a step back.
"What!?"
"You can't be serious. That's the only way?" Worry and panic rose in my voice.
He licked his lips and smirked. "Makes twisted sense, doesn't it?"
I ran out the room clenching onto the blood. Like hell I'd give this to him after such an answer.
His yells for it chased me, but I continued running. I wasn't actually going to give him blood, Evan would have my head. In fact he already hates that I have it in my possession.
My eyes watered and I bumped into a tall familiar figure.
"Ren?" My voice peaked as I looked up.
His kind eyes furrowed at my state.
"What happened? What did he say to you?" Anger growing in his voice.
He glanced at the blood in my hand and back to my face. "What were you doing?" He questioned again.
My eyes dropped to the floor and I fidgeted for an answer to get myself out of this situation. "uh...umm. Well you see...this is um..." I stumbled on my own words whilst rubbing the tears away.
His brow rose in suspicion. It was so easy to tell I was trying to lie. I have a terrible poker face and he knew that far too well.
"Alright, clearly you don't want to tell me. But you are okay aren't you?"
I looked back up into his eyes, smiled and nodded. He smiled at my earnest response.
He patted my head and ruffled my hair, creating a mess. "Heyyy." I groaned with a chuckle, whilst wriggling out of his hair attack.
"Alright I'll see you later brother. Stay safe!" I bid farewell whilst working up a running pace, trying to get put of that situation fast.
He waved in return, watching me disappear into the distance.
Luckily Ren wasn't one to always get what he wanted. He was patient and understanding. He never pushes me and always cares for my health. He is by far the best brother ever!
