Katie's biological father was still alive. That was the impression that Kinsey had concluded from Ode's tone. It's just that Ode and Egon seemed to hate this person so much that they think of him as a dead person.

"If we want to find the vessel, the father is the best choice." came the firm tone from Kinsey as if he ignored the distaste look at the elders' eyes.

"Forget him. You think he would be willing to help her? Once he found out Katalina was his daughter, he would kill her without mercy. He is out of option."

Kinsey did not expect the response that came out of Egon's mouth. What kind of father would be willing to kill his own flesh and blood?

Kinsey remembered his own father. Although Marcel rarely shows it, Kinsey knew that his father really loves him in his own way. Likewise with Daniel, who considers his twin sister as his own daughter. The two men loved their children in their own way.
